I've seen some of the youtubers I watch do both. Destiny Sidwell has done tons of these (usually once a month) and a majority of them are full 24 hour straight videos. There’s nothing wrong with the stopping the timer concept because they are still reading for a 24 hour period of time just not straight time. And also if you think about it, Steph took breaks as well so she wasn't reading the full 24 hours (and that's okay, not saying anything against her) but in the stop/start version they are reading for a full 24 hours.
@@pharmasix22 readbyzoe did a 24hr readathon a couple years back with IT by stephen king and she used the audiobook when needed so it’s def possible though a bit extreme😭

I think the reason why she doesn't ask is because she already assumes she knows the reason, and that plays into her overall personality of being extremely self-doubtful and a people pleaser, and because of the way that Wyn is too, they just never end up having that conversation until later on :)
As a recovering people pleaser, I related to this book hard-core. BUT I can't see how it would be a frustrating read for people that are not programmed this way. Easy 5 stars for me.
Honestly I usually HATE the miscommunication/misunderstanding trope but this is one of the only cases that I think it worked really well. I completely got why they didn't clear things up and the fact that it was reasonable is what makes it not only bearable but enjoyable. 5 stars for me, queen doesn't miss.
Happy place broke me. I don't think i've ever felt a fictional love so intensely. I fell in love with their love and i so desperately wanted them to be together but it made so much sense to me that they weren't. It was a little bit of a normal people moment. Their heartbreak was so palpable but it was noone's fault. I loved the book, it was honestly one of my favourites of all time

I read Meet Me at the Lake (not in a sleep-deprived state) and I wasn't a huge fan. I gave it 2.5, 3 stars at most. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters and didn't feel that their meeting 10 years ago warranted the feelings they had for each other, very little felt realistic to me. Also, sad they didn't explore more of the lake setting, I feel like it could've happened anywhere, and no other side characters were developed! I've been saving Happy Place for this Memorial Day Weekend, I go to the Outer Banks every year with my 3 best friends from college so I feel like it will be absolutely perfect!!
I’m having a really bad time (luckily I have professional help) and I have to say that your content in general make me feel less alone and more comfortable with the world and with myself. Your channel is a comfort place ❤️
With Happy Place I was also getting annoyed with not knowing what caused the breakup until I really thought about how common miscommunication in relationships is. People just assuming they have the answers and not asking them. That’s essentially what led to their downfall was lack of communication and assumptions about their partners actions and needs/wants. Once I finished reading it, I was actually pretty floored with how realistic this book felt. I’m currently reading Meet Me at the Lake and I’m not really feeling the romance yet. I don’t really care about the characters. I was looking forward to it so much after Every Summer After.

Wow funny, I just finished "Happy Place" last night and I gave it the same rating. I wasn't frustrated by their relationship, but I did feel like their thoughts and actions towards each other were repetitive, but I completely understand the frustration. One simple conversation could've solved so much. Lowkey, I wouldn't have been mad if they didn't end up together. I think an ending like that would've made sense too!
