The fact that when the group was finally announced but NONE of them was smiling had me in tears… they all truly cared for each other, and even the ones that were chosen weren’t able to be fully happy bc Gina and Cristina weren’t with them.

Yea it’s different from the other Korean shows because it usually starts with 100 girls but it was just a group of girls in this one so it was easier to form close relationships with everyone I knew from the beginning it would be hard at the end😢

Gina possesses great technical skills but k-pop artists need to have more than that. She isn't able to express the song as how it was intended, and she really isn't comfortable to watch. I worry for her every moment because she looked so stressed up (same goes for Cristina). Watch closely and you may start to agree that she looked and sounded almost angry when delivering her lines, instead of joy or hopefulness.

Gina kept disappointing me, not on her skills, she was GOOD! but a lil too good, she was still young and didn't know how to manifest her emotions into the dances. They did felt like she's running a home run lap than trying to have a fun ball game. If that made sense. Gina isn't special, she's like many with luck but that being said, she's just like any other skilled dancer/singer. Couldn't fill the right shoes, her size was too much.
Well atleast for this group of amateurs😂 but if Gina would debut, It would like lvls of baby monsters or katseye, not this.
Both of them worked hard for it but i guess that was not the moment for them yet

Rewatching A2K again made me realize that JYP made a good choice with the members. Of course we would have wanted Christina to make the group but I think the reason why she didn’t make it was cause her vocal wasn’t powerful enough. JYP already had Savanna and Lexi who are really great dancers but not strong vocally and he needed the vocals alor more and it was a struggle between Kendal and Christina but picked Kendal because her vocals were better than Christina and she had the visual K-pop fans want.
I loovvee Christina and wanted her to be chosen but her power was mostly dancing. She didn’t have the visual for K-pop fans and not strong enough vocals. That’s why In their songs KG, Camila,Kendal and Kaylee get more lines and they focus savanna and Lexi on rap and dance. I knew Gina wasn’t gonna make the cut cause till the end they talked about her dancing and vocals and how she wasn’t much in it like the rest girls. The judges have been doing this for a long time so I’m sure they know better.

The Back Dawgz performance was the only time JYP and the trainers had no negatives for Gina and Cristina and that their potential really showed. Had they capitalized on that momentum going into the finale by giving the same level of performance, they would've probably been chosen in the group. However, in the finale they were both the weakest link/stood out the least in their respective groups, so it shouldn't be so controversial that they ended up being the last 2. And the attitude evaluation was pretty much the nail in the coffin. Everyone should realize JYP Ent care about their idols being great people more than any other company, evident by how much the character and attitude evaluations mattered in the end.
I agree too. I just re-watched this episode since it's been a while, and I feel like the 6 that were chosen really were the perfect group to make Vcha. Though I really liked Christina💗 I have to say her vocals were too weak in the final episode, and this is where I think she got dropped. She looked uncomfortable, and this was their last chance to shine. Kendall is proving herself to be a valuable member in Vcha, so I am so happy for her. And Gina looks like she's doing ok on her own.

I'm pretty sure that if it had been only J. Y. Park's decision, he would have chosen them all, but as he said, the evaluations came from everywhere and he couldn't force the selection; so sad for that. However, I admire him and I love how special he was with all them. It also was a nice gesture that he offered Gina and Cristina to continue communicating with the company to continue with the training. ❤

So happy Lexus FINALLY got first place like she deserved!! I swear JYP is blind lol, she's been the ace from the start. So happy for her! So sad for the people leaving though, they deserved to be in the group imo. I personally don't love KG and Kendall, but I guess they'll prove themselves with the debut.

I agree! She's got vocals, dance skills, visuals, charm etc. It’s unbelievable that a 13 yo girl has all of these at such an excellent level. She probably needs to work on her expressions but some of the debut members may also have some issues

Rewatching this again after seeing the final group's mv and performances. I tried to watch the different members when they weren't in focus to understand the flaws, and I understand why Gina and Cristina were eliminated. They just didn't shine as much. Gina has always had the fundamentals, but doesn't "act". She was barely smiling unless she was in the center. Cristina did falter and it showed in her face. Both girls are great, but these were the flaws jyp saw. Kendall's performance was not perfect, but she does contribute to the energy of thr group when she's not center. You can definitely see it in the stage performances for music bank.
As for the size of the group, the smaller group will be more succesful for a western group.
I think Gina got carried away from the beginning because she had already been a JYP trainee, and possibly thought that was enough, like Yuna had negative thoughts in her last performance, I mean she doesn't believe in herself.
@@phi.ninj4 It's hard when you're a JYP trainee. Gina and Yuna from Nizi U had pretty much the same issues. They were too in their minds and their trajectory was very stagnant.
I totally agree with your all statments; that's how I feel now that I am rewatching it... 6members really deserved to be in the group. Kendall is so charming but I just could not see it back then.
Cristina faltered because she had a pinched nerve going to her right leg. She went to a neurologist as soon as she got back to Atlanta. Even if selected, she would have missed pre-debut promotions and probably the first release as well.
My 2 bias Lexus then KG, I’m so happy that they placed top 2! They’re alL so inspirational I can’t wait for their future

I didn’t expect this... I was sure that Gina would debut, I wasn’t even afraid for her, because I saw her as objectively the most valuable member of the team, both in terms of vocals and dancing. And for me now this decision is as sensational as possible... I don’t understand how it was possible to leave her out of the group, I’m very upset...
Why couldn't 7 girls debut in a group?? Gina is a real flower, and now the group will be without her...

She was in training before and is really young (only 13 when this was filmed) so I would believe JYP wants to keep her in training and maybe debut later in another group.
good skills there is no doubt. But she can't move if she is not more expressive, she had to overcome that challenge since she arrived in Korea, but she didn't make it. I imagine that influenced a lot, if you notice, they couldn't get anything positive out of her beyond her stability, she seemed at her limit.

The way that when the group members were finally announcemed but none of the girls were smiling had me in tears.
They all truly cared for each other.
Their friendship was everything..

Camila definitely stood out the most in every aspect...the singing, the dancing and the character! The others had one or 2 more things missing....

Cristina really seemed like such a sweet and supportive soul with wholesome reactions like every time towards the other girls whenever they did well too throughout the project. And above that, she really is so talented and has such a strong aura even in her rap and dance and I really hope she remembers that and I wish her the best of luck for her future TT
I think if she goes to YG she will debut because sometimes YG likes people with very strong auras

@@aileeno6063 No kendall kept scoring relatively low and didn't do well as christina or gina in this series so it's heavily understandable to think this. There's rumors of her paying her way into the group. I can't confirm or deny them.

@@cloudreaver i honestly believe jyp didnt debut gina b/c of character reasons.. the way he said, "we had to consider all factors, not just singing/dancing". i have my opinion on what ive seen of gina's personality, but shes LITERALLY 13/14. so i need to take a hard look in the mirror on that front... i just hope she doesn't carry the pain of her experiences with JYP training for too long. i cant imagine how hard this situation was/is for her- and christina.

Seeing all the way they've done, they did not just improved in singing and dancing but instead they have learned so much. They have learned discipline, and how to help each other. They became so mature! And they were improving so fast omg !
I think they really were doing professional shows at 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 years old !!
And they were so kind to each other and so carrying about the other contestants. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 I hope that all their dreams are gonna come true !
This also showed me a lot of things and I learned many important things from this show. This gave me the motivation to work on my goals and dreams even more !!🫶🏽
