  • Black Lotus is an upcoming multiplayer first person shooter game directly inspired in many ways by Id Software's classic Wolfenstein 3D. It's a custom raycaster rendering engine authored with C++ and classic no-frills OpenGL.
    In this video I demonstrate a feature I'm very proud of, in the way of instant hot-reloading the texture data on filesystem change, with no degradation to the performance. I'll answer some questions in the pinned comment below.
    I plan on releasing videos in the very near future discussing how I went about various features of Black Lotus's development, including this hot-swapping technique.
