Something I completely neglected to mention in the video is how having camera film to return for development raises the stakes a bit if you get into a fight. Recon is the only objective task that you have to survive the sortie to achieve. Makes everything feel more intense, give it a go.
Looks a bit garish to me somehow - I don't like the annunciator labels. but the gunsight and canopy frame look great so it's not a problem if you don't look down
They did introduce the SA-9 as a frontline unit with 10% spawn rate. It's a Strela-1 for both sides. I am curious if the lack of flares on the Mig-19 might be more of a challenge now to recon? Also what ammo belts do you tend to use in the Mig-19?
Yeah, really not a fan of the addition of Strelas, especially when the only thing anyone has to counter it are dumb weapons… 21’s has its flares on the Cauc rotation removed too, so that’s not in a much better position. APHE belts all the way 👌🏼
Yeah, Razbam seem to have opted out of the sales since before the Streagle dropped because ED pushes the cut onto them rather than taking an even hit, so they pretty much lose money on sales. The fun you’ll have if you put the time in does make it worth full price in my opinion though, for what it’s worth.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy Yeah, it seems like the business model is kind of fucked. I'm of the opinion that we should lower the fidelity requirements so we can get the planes and then eventually they can flush out to be full-fidelity. I can see why Razbam would do this, though. They still have a lot of stuff to do with the F-15E and they also got the MiG-23 to come out soon. They need the money to support these projects. I guess I should buy it now just to support these developments.
@@thefreestyler25.warthunder Yeah, but I think the people casting aspersions aren’t able to see the issue as a whole so it doesn’t achieve much by stating any of it. I have no idea how late ED typically get their hands on things, or what they do once they do get their hands on things ahead of official release. It might be that HB have streamlined the process ED follow to such an extent that it isn’t going to matter if they get it a week before the end of their Winter “deadline”. It’s out when it’s out, basically. Can’t do anything but wait, so wait I shall.
Looks like a fun and meaningful mechanic - but how do you know whether you've captured something or not? What does the camera see? Is it explained on the discord, at least?
It’s in the parameters thing, the low alt camera looks down 30° off your nose, the high alt looks 90° down with a 40° FOV. As for knowing whether you’ve got anything, you don’t lol, not until you develop the film after landing.
Serious question. Anyone can answer. I have an extreme 3d pro joystick (I know its a cheap joystick but its all I have for the time being) and I'm interested in getting into DCS. Can I get away with playing (full fidelity jets) with that joystick for the time being and actually do good? Or do I need to have a full GOOD hotas to play?
Only one way to find out lol, Sovereign flies on a gamepad controller. I’d say headtracking hardware is a better investment at the beginning, as long as your stick works you can use it.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy Thanks for the reply. I Did see video of someone using a gamepad to fly which was so insane to me lol. But yeah I'll give it a go. I use AItrack/opentrack with a good webcam and it works really well on warthunder sim and IL2. The only thing thats daunting is the amount keybinds there is. But shouldn't matter with full fidelity jets right? I'm assuming
@adikamussington7558 I tend to map 90% of what I need to my HOTAS or keyboard, mouse is only really used for stuff during start up; I honestly hate having to click shit whilst I’m in the air it feels very clunky and time consuming vs how it would be in reality. Definitely daunting at first but UA-cam guides really streamline the learning process. 👌🏼
you can get DCS and the A-4 mod for free, and the A-4 is practically payware quality. and if you like, trial some payware modules. get a good sense of if DCS will work without spending a penny!

MiG-19's cockpit is the best looking cockpit I've ever seen.

That A-4 at the start was doing an amazing impression of a MiG-21 😂
Those shots you took on the A-4 and F-5 look just as good from your perspective🤣

That's some amazing sharpshooter stuff right there. Congrats dude. Do you guys fly together on the discord server? If so I might join. Cheers
