Kleibrink's flicks and close quarter stuff is just unbeatable! I'm intrigued to know why the prime type thing up close seems to work so well when you're a lefty against a righty because I do it too with a fair bit of success.
In reality, fencing is only beautiful with players like this. They have exceptionally good technical skills but most players aren't like this. Usually, fencing is extremely boring to watch so they need to make drastic changes to the rules.
@@absoluteloyalty9033 Not true at all, any National or even regional semi/final have a level of fencing that can be really fun to watch, even at cadet level or younger. Not many sports are really that exciting to watch in their entirety, you watch them for the climax and the competition, fencing is no different. The FIE changing the rules to make the sport more spectator friendly isn’t something objective that indicates something about the sport, it’s just their prerogative and a lot of fencers disagree with those changes.
I practice fencing since long time ago... i lost the oportunity in the 2000 when they came out... I think these are and will be the best fencing shoes... If i have the cance i will buy two pairs :P
not really sure why kleibrink got the flick after the fleche... the only time u can hit after they have passed u is if u have parried and started the riposte before they pass u....
Yeah a friend has them... Our club is the biggest of the country, we have 22 Metal pistes, they're the same that were used for the Athens Olympic Games, they're kinda old and they're getting slippery... So i need shoes because i can barely stand up well in the pistes. And they're too expensive to be changed
They're the old Adidas Asymmetric shoes. Widely regarded as just about the best fencing shoes ever made, unfortunately though not in production anymore.
Interesting to learn, never used a pair myself. Personally, love the Adidas Feather shoes, (III or IV). The support on them is great, quite a thin sole and the grip is beyond belief. Essentially the 2008 Adistars but for less then half the price. Bargain =)
The mask throw wasn't hostile which is probably why it wasn't given. If he threw out of anger during the bout I believe a red card would've been given.
Wonderful.. Oh, what a gorgeous, elegant bout.. I'm addicted to fencing videos (I don't fence myself), so thanks a mil for posting these..
this has got to win for the olympic final with the best/prettiest fencing/footwork/bladework
You are correct sir, this was a very pretty bout

This bout was a joy to watch. Watching fencing videos never gets tiring.

If it makes you guys feel any better, Yuki Ota would fence Kleibrink again at the 2012 London Olympics and ended up winning that bout.
Luke Mitchell I have a German coach so I lean more towards Kleibrink even though I like both
even though he lost
Yuki fuckin Ota is a beast!

Great bout. I like them bout, particularly benjamin..
kleibrink is an amazing foil fencer and deserved that win. i can't wait to see him reappear in 2012
Kleibrink owned EVERYONE of his bouts! He's amazing!
plus it wuz an awesome touch anway so i would still give it 2 him :)
what you are describing is exactly what happened. kleibrink takes a 4 parry and starts the riposte immediately, before yuki passed him
I'm no expert,but this was the greatest bout I've ever seen. This,to me,was a sword fight!! :)

maybe u should start especially if ur in high school right now.

@ProyectMooneJazzers You're forgetting Nicolas Lopez in sabre, who also took silver in his event.

Can you please quote the rule which supports that =)
ohh, i see it now...but the ref called it counterattack didnt he?
i am so telling, you're gonna be in so much trouble
i expected ota to win
he didnt even shake the refs hand after winning.....
That's my ex-dad
haha dude i know i was joking too :)
austria is better :DD
Should have at least gave him(Kleibrink) a red card for toss his mask....
