Create your own Face Recognition Service with AWS Rekognition!

- In this video, I showcase a video and image analysis solution that AWS offers called the Amazon Rekognition.
Using Amazon Rekognition, you can include a face recognition feature into your app without having to worry about Machine Learning or Computer Vision algorithms implementation. You can achieve this feature by just a function call!
In the video, I demonstrate how to create a simple face recognition service with AWS S3, AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB and Amazon Rekognition.

What happens if you pass in a photo with 2+ people? Will it scan each face and try to match it to one in the Rekognition collection?

Hi, love your demo. Quick question, how do I know the confidence level of each image search? I know that with more database/ faceprint, confidence level will get higher. Is there a way for the Python script to spit out % match for each images that you ran? Or is that something that you adjust as a threshold in Rekognition?
Hey Jevon, were you able to get everything working? I am not getting the DynamoDB table to index at all? Am I missing something?

Hello Raj, I had an idea for searching for doppelgangers using Rekognition. Proposing the idea directly to Amazon is not recommended. The argument is that a company wants to see an app work. Would it be easy/hard to write a program that starts with a given facial recognition and finds another that produces a near perfect match. Would you be interested in partnering such an idea and seeing where it goes? Is it possible to find the opposite sex, a younger person, an older person?

you have to have to change the name 'face_recognition' in the Lambda function to the table name in DynamoDB
after running the aws rekognition code in the powershell it is giving this as output (Unknown output type: none)

Hey, the faceId is not getting updated on DynamoDB. Please help.
The reason for that is he didn't go through the part where you have to make a collection id using recognition and then pass that collection id in the lambda code in the index_faces method
