I almost went with paying to have the work done. the issue was not the nickel coated frame and a Titanium Nitride slide like the one in the video. The issue i ran into is a full custom hand done engraving with extra detail would literally cost me over 8k all said and done properly the way i wanted it. The ones in the video are damn close to what i detailed out to the gunsmith. Fancy guns are NOT cheap. you could for sure have a "gold" and nickel 1911 made and its easily do-able under 1k USD polished and all. I had some Makarov parts coated in Titanium Nitride and it only costed me ~120$ for a bag of small parts. Fancy "looking" guns can be afforable if done right. I'd say if your in the US and you have the funds available, do it. Having a "gold" gun and being able to shoot it every time i go to the range is great.
