Could double down and put washers in the model spaces, magnets on the model bases and you've got extra security. Additionally, leaving the bottom paper layer on the foam core helps out a tonne - painting and securing the models (and protecting your plastic bin)
Agreed, adding more magnets would definitely add some extra stability, especially on the spots where there's a little less foam surrounding them or the model is top-heavy; thanks for the feedback, all great ideas!
4:59 We’ve all had that moment that takes hours to find where that piece pinged off to … sometimes days… till you hear something clatter up the vacuum cleaner into oblivion
This looks great! I really like how the diorama came out, and these boxes are almost perfect. They do have one glaring issue for me though: the handles are huge gaps in the side, which will admit dirt and dust and everything else inside. You might want to make some detachable covers for them.
This is such a amazing idea. I am inspired to buy everything I need to never try this myself because I'm afraid I'll fail. Can't wait to see what comes next and I hope you show more of these builds
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support!!! Why not go for it? You may love the results, and worst case if it does turn out bad you can throw it out, learn something and try again!
Little idea for the next one you make. Under the hill of your diorama, you could add some simple leds. Those will shine through the clear plastic to the bottom box.
Love the idea, thanks! I was thinking about somehow building LEDs into the model as well... Definitely seems doable though, hopefully on a future project!
This is awesome. I had the same idea for displaying my Necrons on the shelves of my Detolf, I just haven't got around to it yet. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration!
Love how it looks possible upgrades are: A case that doesn't have handles, so its sealed from dust. On the magnets part. They are nice but do not put magnets on the base of the models itself. My experience is that this will result in incidents of them clumping together. Only putting magnets in the storage case and metal on the models prevents this from happening.
Thanks for the feedback! Agreed on the dust-free being a nice upgrade and I didn't magnetize the bases in part for that reason, I totally agree that everything getting stuck together would be unfortunate!
That looks awesome! If it were me doing it, I just would have added some magnetic sheets into the holes and magnets to the models so that transportation would be even safer. It's probably fine if you're just carrying it but as soon as you put the box into a vehicle I personally would like more security.
@@herossongstudio Sweet thanks! I'm from the UK and just looking at it on amazon and they have all different thicknesses so just wondered what you used. Gonna go for 3mm then. Thanks :D
You definitely could! I chose not to since things were pretty secure already but it would definitely be a good option for some of the more top-heavy models.

Oh yes, absolutely! Thankfully in this case I was able to locate it but it really could have gone south fast!

Thanks so much! That's a great suggestion!
Been looking a simple guide like this! Thank you so much!
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching!

Damn you, now I have to do this with my Sylvaneth as well :-D
Great job, I love the result!
Thank you so much! You definitely should, it's an awesome project!
This is such an awesome thing! Great work.

Thanks so much, you definitely should! It's a super fun project!

Great point! Definitely could be modified with magnets, I think for some of the larger and more top-heavy models especially that would be helpful!
I was thinking of doing something like this for my Blood Bowl team and seeing you do it may be the inspiration and direction I needed.
Love it, that's awesome! I think this would be an awesome project for a Blood Bowl team, I was thinking the same thing actually!
@@herossongstudio What thickness foam board did you use? Looking at starting one soon!
It's about 1/8 inch thick, just the standard stuff from the store!

Got it, makes sense! Enjoy mate good luck!
Love the video. Would love to see more videos on this different topic. Great work

Wow! Great idea!
Thanks so much!
Amazing to watch 👍👍
Thanks a bunch!
cool idea!
Thanks a bunch!
This is a really smart idea and a geat execution! But if you dont close the holes on the side, is is gonna be a dusty nightmare
Thanks so much for the support! The handles are nice for carrying this around but the dust definitely could become an issue, thanks for the feedback!
Fantastic!
Thanks so much!
Could still magnetize no prob

How high can you stack these and have it still feel stable?
I've got 6 or do stacked right now but it definitely feels like I could go higher! They fit together well and are pretty sturdy.
Cool
too bad it's not dust free. but nice work, hope it makes you happy for a long time
Thank you, me too!
