Bravo ! ... for your great talent that 's very skilfull in every 2 or 3 days/per week with some Waltz piece that encourage me in learning to play the waltzes ..! Thks for your great perform. and posting !
Very nicely played! I'm still listening to your 'Espana' though. These waltzes by Waldteufel, seem to be more difficult to learn than Strauss waltzes? Would that be a fair assumption? Thanks for sharing!
Maybe because Johann Strauss's waltzes are more popular and better known. Waldteufel's waltzes are more subtle, and because Waldteufel was a pianist, and wrote his waltzes for the piano before orchestrating them, they tend to be more pianistic.
On the title page of the waltz is this: "Waltz uber das Spanische Duett von Paul Lacome und Spanische National-Melodien". Paul-Jean-Jacques d'Lacome Estalenx ( Le Houga , March 4 1838 - there, December 12 1920 ) was a French composer , conductor , music critic and writer. He wrote some operettas and orchestral pieces. He is not to be confused with the more famous Paul Lacombe.
Love it! When I was a child growing up in NYC, I knew the tune as the Rheingold beer jingle! It's SO much more than that! Thanks for posting
