Robin Williams agreed to Jeffery Katzenberg to be in the first movie on condition that his name, image, and voice will not be used for the marketing of Aladdin, and that the Genie will not take up more than 25% of space in tv spots, trailers and posters. Katzenberg went back on the deal and the Genie took up space in posters and the trailers and tv spots showed the genie more than Aladdin. Robin was so mad that he wouldn't work with Disney studios ever again.
Robin had a falling out with Disney following Aladdin n left. So,he was replaced by Dan. In 1996,Disney said sorry to Robin and Robin returned to voicing the genie in the next and much better Aladdin movie: Aladdin And The King Of Theives.
Dan Castellaneta does great with Homer Simpson, Grandpa Simpson, Crusty The Clown in The Simpsons and Arnold's Grandpa in Hey Arnold, but he isn't the one and only Robin Williams as the Genie.
The Return of Jafar is not so bad, but the animation sucks, Replacing Robin Williams to Dan Castellantas voice as Genie and having a style like the tv series was unsmart, but the story is very good although.
He actually would've done it anyway, but Katzenberg wanted him to be payed SAG scale ($75,000). Why do you think it took Disney $10,000,000 to get Demi Moore to be in Hunchback of Notre Dame? At least in the third Aladdin film Robin got payed a bucket load more
for a sequel this ain't has bad as everyone says their have been a lot worse disney sequels believe me little mermaid 2 sucked worse than this and this was the first straight to video disney movie i remember when this first came out cause i had this on vhs oringally but i have all 3 aladdin movies on dvd and for a trilogy one of the better disney trilogy's you can't say that with a lot of disney movies and ok the one who played genie in this movie was not great but he wasn't that bad 7 out of 10
It was too bad that Robin Williams didn't make the voice of Genie, but Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer Simpsons from 20th Centery Fox's The Simpsons) did pretty well.
Which is when disney stopped making DTV in 2009,I had mixed feelings coz movies similar to Return of Jafar will never be seen again but on the other,gd ones similar to King Of thieves will also never be seen again. I think the best DTV was Lion King 1.5,what about you?
Here are the answers(according to the movie) 1. Jafar's plan was to make aladdin miserable that "Jasmine" sentenced him to death. Then at his final moments, make him angry to see that Jafar came bk n that he beat aladdin(simply put "Haha! I outsmarted u". 2. U're forgetting that Genie's can't kill anyone,so Jafar couldn't do it. 3. Gd question, this really is a plot hole. ( read nxt comment)
Jafar does not care about rules. He is immoral and a villain who appears to not care about the consequences of his actions which might help explain why he still wants Aladdin dead even after becoming a slave to a lamp similar to the Genie. You also forgot about the part where Jafar wished to become "the most powerful genie". Once a villain always a villain according to Disney which is usually the case even as a genie.
Techincally speaking, while he is engaged to Jasmine, he is still a street rat. But if you want to go into the nuts and bolts of the operation, it's probably because street rat Aladdin is easier and less expensive to draw than Prince Ali.
Nintendoman64 HAHA. No way would it be more expensive. Its jsut a few extral lines. I reckon its for the kids so they recognise his costume, or for toys or what not to have consistent costume. Liek the princesses!
Veggieburger In terms of expenses, I meant that the animators could probably trace and reprint the street rat clothes more than his prince attire. I think they got called out on this by the time King of Thieves came out, so they made Aladdin a new outfit
I love how in the early days, direct-to-video films were seen as something to brag about! XD
On this day in 1994, The Return Of Jafar was released on VHS. Happy 30th anniversary!

He worked with Disney again on Aladdin 3 the sequel to The Return Of Jafar
I have this video since Oct of 2007
Happy 30th Anniversary to this devoted direct to home video sequel!! Dan Castellaneta is the best Genie 🧞♂️ of all time!
I like this movie a lot, but after Aladdin 1992. It was a huge difference in The Return of Jafar 1994

Taken from 1994 VHS of "The Fox and the Hound."
also from The Brave Little Toaster VHS in 1994
"It's all your fault Jafar"
Taken from The Fox and the Hound 1994 VHS
This film kicked off the tv show and became a level in Kingdom Hearts II
That’s agrabah
I love Ja'far
The Return Of Tailong It Was The 2nd Movie Of Bagheeraladdin I Think It Should Come To UA-cam With The 1st Bagheeraladdin Movie
From Movie: Aladdin 2 The Return of Jafar
U may be pleased to know that Disney has stopped DTV since 2009. :)

Why does jafar look different from the 1992 movie
A budget cut. A big, massive, deeply significant budget cut

I loved this movie as a kid. I watched it non stop.

@@MADLeon13it’s a great sequel
@@stefantomasi4036 agree
@@MADLeon13 the best part of this sequel is the second Genie voiced by Homer Simpson
Remember that this is like one of the only good Disney sequels
Along with a good TV series spin off
0:10 that face scared the fuck out of me as a kid!
or its actually 0:09
That scared me too.
I always had a problem with genies imprisonment cuffs still being on even though they fell off.
I seen this Trailer of the Return of Jafar on my 1994 vhs of Cool Runnings.

From what I found was that Robin was upset that Disney used the genie to merchandise Aladdin I think
Jim Meskimen is now the current voice of the Genie.
@@BrianRumbaoaDisney1998 I never heard of him, but I would like to hear how he does the voice of Genie.
@@SimpleJars Check out *Kingdom Hearts: Re Coded* cutscenes and find Genie.

I think he may have felt he was too old. After all, he died a few years after the last Aladdin movie

how is this film not good? i saw it on toon Disney wen i was 7 it was amazing!
This movie is not that bad, I think people don’t like it because of the animation
also from the brave little toaster vhs in 1994
This movie still got a two thumbs up from Siskel & Ebert. Why???
