This is great. I have spent a almost a year researching how to make my own rock formations using cement. Your everyday cement sold everywhere will not work for me. I wanted it more porous, more like lava/lace rock and wanted it lightweight. I'm from Boston and we don't have Lava rock, but if you need granite, come on over. haha.I have done numerous experiments with colors, textures, sizes, and of course many, and I mean many different ingredients. this is all so I can create my own rock plantings for my Bonsai. The things we do for our trees, haha. So a month or so ago, I started working with seashells, crushed. Bingo!! My point, nature/God, whomever wants you to find your own answers and then you will be told. Hence, one of my idols, Master Kimura, finally showed me today I am on the right path. This all hinges on if he is infact using a seashell concrete mixture. Haha. I say that , cause it is identical to what I have found and now use. BE well!! Mother nature always has our back!
ive been curious about working with cement. I bought a cement gargoyle statue I was going to use for root over rock. Cement is very alkali. I let the statue sit in water for a few weeks. the ph of the water keeps reading over 10 even after many water changes. I worry cement around trees may not be a good combination.
Hi Mr kimura I watch your work intensely and I like many others love to watch you work. If only I had found bonsai in my 20s I’m a crazy pot maker and complete novice bonsai nut. My latest pot is a rhinoceros rock sculpture. I intend to make it a root over rock with a fast growing Japanese larch. I only tell you because I want to make you laugh as I know you surly will. You do incredible work and I will be keen to watch you more 👍👍👍
Beautifil rock sculpture ! Its amazing to see how he transformed a smooth rock into a coral structure. Looking forward to seeing it turn into a mountain forest next. How much time did the first rock scupting take, from start to finish ?
Prettsure that’s a block of air Crete, a super light weight, concrete mix that’s baked under pressure to cure it. I have a bunch of blocks I used for fire pit ect, cam be shaped with wood working tools, but it’s a blade killer due to grits.

Is this rock or soft concrete? What is the mixture ratio?

What kind of stone is that?
Hi, what happen to the FB page ? Is everything OK ?
What kind of rocks are used in japan to this kind of work???
he's using a Featherstone rock
Hello !! What type of rock is it?
has to be some sort of sandstone or lime stone
Is that a man made rock or a real one?
Looks like wood.
Lime Rock
What is the name of this type of stone!? The best & thank you!
cagefanatic I’m so sorry. I really don’t know the name of this rock.
It might be soapstone. I was watching a Mirai video with Ryan and he said that type of rock coated in concrete.
@@kimurashomebonsai8931 we expect you know the name or type of rock you are using if you are posting this video online in UA-cam for public.
I’m surprised he doesn’t know what type of rock he is using. As bonsai enthusiasts we expect he knows that if he posts that in UA-cam for public.
❤😂😂
what type of rock is that? so soft to saw through! Thanks for great video!
It is cement concrete.
Only partially cured/dried cement. So it is still soft and moist on the inside. Correct?
It’s real rock. But I don’t know the name of rock.
Looks like petrified wood to me.
It looks like brindle coloured Feather rock boulder. Also called Pumice. its lightweight and easily shaped.
Is Mr.Kimura himself that replying comments on youtube?
Apriza Yutama No.
All comment will be replied by me who is this channel’s maker.
Do you work on Mr.Kimura's place?
@@kimurashomebonsai8931 Can you send greeting to Mr Kimura from Australia. I adore his work.
