Hello Chantelle, so happy to meet you - I started out with my creating scrapbooks - board I took a look on UA-cam and found ATC - I was hooked - I joined a marvelous group and began trading . That was 10 years ago- I have 2 books full of beautiful little pieces of art from all over the world & have 3 pen pals for the last 6 years whom I trade with & write letters 1 time a month - The Netherlands, France , & Austria. I also create junk journals however , creating these amazingly beautiful pieces of art I find truly inspiring and so rewarding. Your ATC ‘s are without a doubt the most extraordinary collection I have ever seen. Thank you from my heart for showing your process ! The gold flakes , water color highlighting, textiles stamping & adding the metal corner piece have sincerely helped me to be able to create some of my favorite pieces of little art work ! Oh wow Shantel!! These are absolutely gorgeous and really speak to my soul as this is how I like to create my mixed media pieces. We have very similar ideas of what we think looks great together. As I keep saying on Cut & Collage with Marta’s stunning images it’s easy to make wonderful art pieces. Back in 2007-2010 I was part of an online ATC group and that was the first time I had ever done any type of collaboration with other artists. That was so new to me at the time and I just loved it and was so sad when the group finally ended. I’ve always wanted to do that again. It helped me to realize that art was truly good for my heart and soul! I am subscribing to your channel because I like how you make your art and present it. The name “The Purring Cat Studio’s” doesn’t hurt either as I’m an avid animal advocate and been a cat lady since I was six years old. Looking forward to more videos! 🙏🏼😽

I found that making those ATC was very relaxing because it allowed me to be creative and make art without the pressure of a bigger piece I need to invest a lot of time in. Even if ATC are small, they still allow to use any and all of the mediums I would use on a bigger project. You were talking about the group that doesn't exist. Perhaps you could start one and see if people are into it? Hello Chantal… you are adorable - inside and out… you are such a joy to spend time with and I’m so glad I found you through Marta’s link. These ATC’s are perfect - they beautifully capture your style! I’m not sure what I was thinking earlier this summer when Amazon had their prime days but I saw they had letter size 3-ring ‘card’ holders that hold ATC cards for a cheap price so… I need to be making some because the box has 100 sheets in it that each sheet can hold either 9 or 18 LOL… oh boy… actually… I was also thinking about storing swatches, quotes, die cuts, ephemera, etc… I’ll let you know when I end up thinking it was a good idea! 😂 😵💫😀❤️😉👍🙂
Well, Sue, I think it's a really good idea to store things in! I think those binders are also to store collectors cards, let's say. And I think they are the same size as ATC. I might be mistaken, but it sounds right. Now I feel like making more ATC's! It was so much fun!
I also had never made an ATC. Some lovely UA-camr sent me some years ago from a collection she had received. I love the idea of mini works of art with permission to create as one wished. Heat embossing is magical. 🧚♀

Great video. Love the glitter/gold/metal touches you added , really make your cards stand out. Did you know Marta has 2 new books out !!!!! Industrial steampunk type children. Not my style at all so will give that one a miss, but it’s gorgeous if you’re into steampunk. Also a Xmas fairy one which I have on the way . Can see my Xmas cards coming from that book this year which will be lovely. Love all 3 of your cards.
