Hyundai/KIA/Genesis doesn't do foot operated liftgate features. That is why you can't figure it out. They have a feature called "Smart Trunk." Just stand near the trunk with the fob in the pocket. The trunk will detect the fob and give a 3-second audible beep. Then, the trunk will open automatically without doing a hookie-pookie dance just to open the trunk.

Why on earth you can't get second charger on Limited while that is the only trim for PHEV? And even for other power trains, this is so fishy to force people to by Caligraphy in order to get a second wireless charger. I wonder if there will be DIY projects to install parts from calligraphy on the lower trims.

@@tangela2407 Charging port is not euqal to wireless pad. Following your logic charging pads are not needed at all in any car, including Santa Fe. It's about convenience of charging, not about ability to charge.

They should have renamed the model to the Plasta Fe with all that plastic used on the interior. I ordered one of these the first day you could. White with Gray every option. When it came in, i went to pick it up. Naturally I test drove it for a few hours before doing the deal. I was very disappointed by the lack of power on the Hybrid Limited AWD. It seemed dangerously slow getting on to the highway. I compare this to my 22 Tucson Hybrid Limited which has the exact same engine and trans. My Tuscon is by no means a fast car, but it blows the doors off the Plasta Fe when getting on the highway. I've been a Hyndai fan since 2007 and have purchased 8 new ones since that year. The Plasta Fe was a huge let down for me. I personally felt it was vastly overpriced for what it is. I know compared to the competition, it's still competitively priced, but the entire segment is overpriced IMO. I'm sticking with our 22 Tucson Limited Hybrid and our 22 Tucson SEL Convenience Hybrid. Yes they're considerably smaller, but the SEL was just under 33 grand after a $500 rebate (Plus tax and fees of course) and the Limited was 39,500 after the same deal. The Limited seemed pricey, but my wife really loves the luxury touches and all the bells and whistles.
I hope Hyundai can up the Plasta Fe Hybrid to a 2.5 liter 300 HP engine in 2025. If they used 25% less plastic and did a more powerful engine with the 6 speed trans, and lowered the price by $5K, I'd consider one. If that sounds unreasonable, it's okay. BTW, since these came out, I've seen exactly 1 on the road....ONE. That speaks volumes. In our area, about every 4th car is either a Hyundai or KIA. The Plasta Fe doesn't seem to be doing well around here.

Smooth Ride, Disappointing Features: A Budget-Friendly Santa Fe Hybrid Review
The Santa Fe Hybrid offers a comfortable ride, but be warned: lower trims (SE/SEL) lack features you might expect. Reviews raving about all the bells and whistles likely focused on the top-of-the-line Calligraphy edition. Here's what surprised me most about the budget-friendly trims:
    Storage Woes:
Finding decent-sized compartments for everyday items proved a challenge.
The glove compartment is tiny, barely fitting a single hand.
Forget a dedicated sunglass holder - this Santa Fe lacks even basic conveniences my older car had!
    Missing Conveniences:
The passenger seat lacks power adjustments, which some might find inconvenient.
No sunroof or panoramic roof for that open-air feel in this trim level.
The cargo light is dim, making nighttime trunk access a struggle.
Shockingly, even basic floor mats are missing.
Parking Woes with the Back Door:
This might be a dealbreaker for some city dwellers. Unlike most SUVs with hatchbacks, the Santa Fe's back door hinges at the top. Great for maximizing headroom when using the cargo area as a makeshift seat, but terrible for tight parking situations. This upward-opening design requires significant vertical space to fully access the cargo area. Park too close behind another car, and forget about easily opening the back door. Adding to the frustration, there's no separate back window to access the cargo area from the outside. This means you can't reach in to grab smaller packages or forgotten items without fully opening the entire door.
    Lessons Learned:
Research every aspect of your chosen Santa Fe trim level before buying. Don't assume "standard" features are included on all trims.
Consider aftermarket accessories like cargo organizers, floor mats, and a sunglass holder to enhance functionality.
    Final Thoughts:
The SE/SEL Santa Fe Hybrid offers a good value, but be aware of the missing conveniences compared to higher trims or other vehicles. This review aims to help future buyers avoid the surprises I encountered.

My advice would be to skip the Santa Fe Hybrid altogether until they up the power and include AWD. Just one opinion. I really disliked the one I ordered. So much so, that I ended up walking away from it before I signed the papers. No harm no foul

I would have liked the infotainment center to go farther left to meet up with the silver trim . To make it centered and even to the driver pov . A plus for no gloss black . I would have to sit in the back to make sure Hyundai did not sacrifice interior width . My wife is firm at the moment for a hybrid highlander or sienna but i would consider this vehicle for sure . We made a mistake and bought a Hyundai Santa Cruz so will sell eventually (interior to small for our needs and wants) we really needed something that would seat 7 . Oh well lesson learned .
Would be curious on how outside noise reduction is . While we like Toyota a lot they are terrible on noise reduction . With all seats up the Toyota has much better rear storage as it goes over a foot below the floor level .
I insist on our next vehicle being a hybrid . Far prefer much better gas mileage . These Santa Fe hybrid priced below the Toyota equivalent which is smart i think . I will for sure have to check this vehicle out

John, I agree...it's a real stick it to ya considering all Hybrid Tucsons with that same engine and trans package since 2022 (we have two) come standard with AWD. Being in Illinois, no way I'm driving a non AWD vehicle in this day and age. Also bro, drive one b4 you buy. The Santa Fe Hybrid felt severely under powered to me when I was entering the highway. Really doggish. Our Tucson Hybrids aren't fast cars by any means, but they weigh 900 pounds less and are much smaller with the same exact engine and trans.
