On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

I'm guessing you don't like the F-35? I've seen you in videos with it, but you're always in the other jet. Russian or Chinese even. Could You do a BVR with you in the F-35 versus the Felon? I think the F-35 is a better stealth jet and you shouldn't have any Patriot or S-300 or 400 sites. I think the F-35 has a better radar as well. Could we see?

He is tight on you peppering you with fire. You have about 200 holes in your plane, one engine smoking, the HUD not working and you're "let's get him a to come a little closer." I love it!!

the b17 would just be a bigger target for the 30mm
well it probably depends on the gunners on whether the plane even has the chance to get damaged but with the 30mm I dont think it would hold out for long especially while alone

The A-10 is roughly the same size of a B-25(about half of that of a B-17) but more armored.
Honestly the 109 should have every advantage in this fight. The prop gives it better acceleration and speed control at lower speeds, it's got a tighter turn than the A-10, and its a great energy fighter in the prop world. It's basically made for fights like this.
True. Especially with flaps against A10. It should overturn A10 with no problem, just literally set power to minimum, turn of flaps to 3rd position or even to landing one. And it could hold at A10's tail forever. Even for that heavy ass like K4 wich was no match to his predcessor like G2/G4 in terms of turn-fights.
He also merged differently i. The second fight. He dove down on the bf109 for the merge giving him a bug energy advantage where in the first fight they merged level. I noticed in a fee videos he wont merge level with the other plane but will do things to gain a slight advantage. Seems slightly unfair to expect a flat merge once but then you can merge how you want.

Just like KC Campbell. Hit with a SAM, over 600 holes, fire, no hydraulics, damaged engine, flew on for over an hour, (not to mention some damn impressive flying on her part). Her A10 brought her home!👍
It's America's version of the flying tank.
Bit more successful than when the Soviets tried it.
Golf did a great job (id like to believe It was intentional) of moving the A-10 then exploiting the blind spot (belly of every aircraft that immediately comes to mind) so that he slipped into the blind spot with a speed and heading and (did the equivalent of) reverse (or reversing) the turn, in the blind spot the the 109. Well played, I really enjoyed (what I see as a tactic and ) a way of manipulating situational awareness.

A-10s are the definition of, "I DIDN'T HEAR NO BELL"
When you are slower than 150 knots you HAVE to put out your flaps in A-10! it will not jam, and will not over speed. it will automatically retract. It would make the jet much more responsive.

The mk 108 30mm mine shells were designed for maximum payload, holding more HE than a hand grenade, and the fuse had a slight delay so they would penetrate an aircraft's skin before detonating. Similar to having a firecracker go off in your hand. Open hand, you get burned, close your fist, and loose your hand. That's why it could remove the wings of a fighter with a single round. The Gau-8's depleted uranium rounds were designed to penetrate thick armor and on something as fragile and thin skinned as an aircraft, it's likely they wouldn't even get the incendiary effect that DU has when hitting something hard with exception of the engine block. If I knew I was to be only engaging unarmored targets, I'd run 100% HE in the A10

Your maneuvering was excellent, but I thought he was far too impatient with his shots, understandably got too excited and caught up and fired wildly too often. I know with myself, this is the real personal challenge of keeping yourself calm, or calming yourself during a fight, to wait for the shot, wait, wait, NOW, but it is the most easy aspect to lose in the heat of the moment. Nice fight, fun.
Id love to see an agreed upon 2 circle and 1 cirlce fight between them just to compare the rate/radius.

Ok round 2 was hard to watch. Reminded me of a Rocky movie where he wears out his opponent by letting him smash his face over and over and over. lol Never gave up though. Only thing missing was both pilots running at each other for a fist fight. Valiant effort.

Given some of the low-altitude low-speed maneuvers I saw the A10 do in the early 80's I think the DCS model might be airing on the conservative side as to it's maneuverability. Hard to say one way or another, but we just to joke that the A10 was a flying saucer disguised as an airplane because airplanes can't do those things.
It really is astonishingly maneuverable. Especially considering how tough it is - normally those two things are mutually exclusive.
Does DCS have an IL-2 module? You should round out the A-10 series with a match against another iconic Russian ground attacker.

There's nothing but overpens with DU rounds. (unless hitting engine)
Their whole idea is using focused kinetic energy to punch through armor plates throwing fragments with added pyrophoric effect from chips of uranium. (would likely ignite volatile materials)
But when target is basically made from cardboard there's nothing but clean holes.
Actually even anti-armor use mixture would contain some HEs. General use mixture would likely contain them in even mix.
