Top class fabrication Adam, regarding the problem of treating vertical surfaces with acid based treatments, what I do is mix it with a wallpaper paste and paint this on then cover with cling film. Leave it for couple of days then rinse off with hot dishsoap. Works brilliant on undersides of roof and chassis.
Fantastic info and you really look like you have great skill in those trouble spots but it is also good to know that it can be fixed Thank you for the great videos
Great work as always! It’s nice to have some strategic parts on hand for those tricky areas. For tight quarters, have you thought about a Dremel tool? The discs are about an inch but are easier to get into closed spots. Keep up the awesome work and videos! Just curious, are you taking on other work? I definitely need some assistance on my Charger roof!
Home Depot, and Lowes carries it, the brand is KleanStrip and its called Concrete and Metal Etch. its in a cloudy clear bottle and its emerald green in color. Its almost always in the paint dept.
With this duster being a slant six car what all has to be switched to convert it over to a v8 ?Do you have to replace the k member and the torsion bars ? Just curious. I have a slant six duster but I don’t believe I’d ever go to the trouble to change it over…….thanks !
At this stage its easiest. At the least you need conversion engine mounts to a small block if you dont have a V8 K frame, or whatever you swap to, then the engine, trans, and a change in driveshaft length. Everything else you can upgrade abd go aa is, depending on how into it you are
I am sure this Duster is "Smiling" somewhere. Question; You used a Phosphoric Acid to clean the inside of the "A" and "B" pillar connection parts. As I am doing my only and last vehicle for myself, a 67 C10 PU, what did you use? I am trying to clean the bedsides, doors and anyplace else I can get to! I am following up with an internal frame type yellow wax cover using professional equipment in a pressure pot & hose. Also, did you feel you had to neutralize any internal parts? Thanks! Have safe and happy holiday season!
Concrete and Metal Etch, which you can find at Home Depot, or Lowes, in the paint dept. is the Phosphoric acid I use here.. other than just cleaning the areas, it doesn't need anything like a Muriatic acid would. When i get to covering the areas that we cant touch or see. I have a fix for that soon. Thanks for watching!
@@HoosierGarage That description is perfect as I have just picked up two a few weeks ago. I am kinda OCD when it comes to rust I guess as a farm kid, but a tech from the 70's up! Looking forward to a "How to" video as I wake up with thoughts in my mind, at 3AM. Connections to cars & certain pickups are in my brain as I research what new chemistry and best practices. One more, but for me. Thanks!!! Happy holidays.
Awesome video! Moving along awesomely Adam! Awesome fabrication work! Thanks for sharing!

Where do I get some of the acid you’re using ?

@@HoosierGarage I remember you saying Home Depot but was unsure of what department to find it in. Thanks.
@@brianwil89 It seems easier to find there for some reason. At least for me locally, Lowes they move it around or something..lol
