      @@PrestigeExternalCleaning got a good result, customer was happy. However there was some stained algae that didn't come up. It was really deep in the wood and not sure high pressure on a wooden balcony would have been a good shout with neighbours below and running risk of damaging wood. Can I ask how concentrated was your mix of precarb to water?

      Would you normaly use hypo if the customer isn't against it, I've heard that hypo can damage the wood. also can pressure washing the decking ruffle the wood?

      @@craigsykes7292 pressure washing is fine if the pressure is low, use a 40degree nozzle and don't go too close.

    Turned out great. I like to use sodium metasilicate followed with oxalic acid as a brightener. May try this out to see if it is more cost efficient

      @@StokeJetwash yep. And they claim it neutralizes the PH, which is necessary after cleaning. I don’t really know the science thiugh

    Follow that up with oxalic acid to brighten and it would look even better! You can also use sodium metasilicate to clean the wood then follow with oxalic acid.

    Good video, but FYI the decking boards at this site have been laid the wrong way up.. the ribbed pattern should be under the deck. It is designed to break water surface tension and prevent cupping

      I read elsewhere 500g of Nappy San (contains Sodium Percarbonate) in 9 litres of warm water.

    Sodium metasilicate first, then oxallic acid and itll look link new wood. You can also use your pressure washer with a low pressure j-rod set to rinse easier than with that garden hose.

      Hi Ched, yeah my back was aching a bit after that, feeling like i'm too old for jobs like that these days 😁. I probably didn't charge as much as I should on this one. To be honest it was more about keeping the customer happy and coming back, than making great money from it. Thanks though mate 👍🙂

    The sidewalk is also nasty. Perfect for reverse graffiti!
    I used a door Matt with design cut in it to make an interesting pattern with my pressure washer.
    UA-cam has videos on how to. Look at reverse graffiti
    A second time over would really clean it. And a photo of it dried would be really bright

    Next time, finish with oxalic acid, which is a wood brightener, and rinse thoroughly. You and the customer will be very happy.

It'll boost your business no end. Also spend as much time and money on SEO for your website. If you're not on the 1st page of google for organic search terms, you'll never be found 👍

      @@adrianhoward2171 If you're just starting out bud, then you should IMO use Facebook, lots of people have great success using them. The only down side i've heard is that most people who contact you, will expect it for peanuts. That's what i've heard, it could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️. Any work is better than no work when you're just starting out though. Good luck with it Adrian. If you can through the first year or two, gain some knowledge and experience, then there's some serious money to be earned, that I can assure you. 👍

    First percarbonate, then oxalic acid to bleach the wood further and bring out the grain, then treat with an oil based product. Should never use normal bleach, it tears the wood apart, and so does pressure washing. You have to be exceedingly careful about pressure washer pressure on wood, better to just use brushes and chems, even though that's way less sexy in a video. Many outdoor cleaners are just waaay to gung ho about pressure washing. When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail, that sort of thing...

      Yes I know you can pressure wash wooden decks, we offer that as a service, and completely agree, using a turbo nozzle would tear the wood to pieces. I was specifically asked to not pressure wash this, because of the condition of the felt underneath.

I have talked on and introduced quite a few of my videos, even though it's not something I really feel comfortable with. I have had lots of people say they love that I don't talk much, and mostly just show the cleaning side. While you and maybe 1 other person have suggested I talk or talk more. That, and that my top ten most successful videos are all without me talking, suggests to me that the vast majority of people that watch my channel would disagree with your opinion. But hey, everyone is entitled to their own view.
