Hey there! I just wanted to say that the way you set up your tutorials are very clear and engaging. I was wondering if you might share the software that you use to create your lessons? The way, I do it takes many many hours of painstaking work! Lol. I understand if you don't want to share your trade secrets. Lol. Thanks for all of the great tutorials! -Go Cat Dave
*To anyone having trouble:* What I did first was practice transitioning between chords, then I played along with the song using only single strums (so for each note, do one down strum) once I had that down, I started to try the strumming, then put the video to the slowest playback speed. From there I worked up to playing along at a normal speed and dang this comment got a lot longer then I thought it would

i played this for my fourth grade assembly, which was four years ago from today. Our teacher used this tutorial and i love it because its so easy to follow and understand. That was the first song ive ever played, and now i know more than thirty songs and extras i made myself :) thank you again m8
G C E A First string to far left is G 2rd string middle-left is C 3rd string is middle-right is E Last string far right is A Hope this helped!! Edit: Tip: put it in X.75 or X0.5 in playback speed
This helped me a lot because one of my biggest problems was finding a video that played the music so I could stay on beat and have the chords so I didn’t have to memorize the chords!!!! Thank you
My teacher also plays this 😭 she’s leaving this year and now we don’t get to do ukulele and I’m in tears😭 she’s only been here one year and already leaving
For anyone struggling: I was struggling at first but here are some tips. First, start by just switching chords without strumming. Then, start by strumming down once per chord. Next, pic one chord, and use the strumming pattern you choose, playing along with the song using just that chord. Work your way up to playing all three.
Tip! It gets reallyyyy fast so you can go to the settings button in the bottom and change the playback settings to 0.75 so it will be easier and slower to play. Once you have practiced a lot, you can finally start to do it faster. That just worked for me. Keep trying your doing great :)
started with this song in 0.5x speed 3 months ago, returning back to it, I can play it at 1.75x! Corona got me doing new shit, and I’m not complaining. Quick update: It’s about a year and a half or something later and I’m doing my gcse in ukulele and my grade 4 ukulele! I really fell in love with the instrument and it’s great to see where I started from.
To help anyone with any problems, I first practiced the DD UDU pattern. Every chord I only played the pattern, afterwards I slowed down the song and put the chords in with the patterns. Once I got comfortable, I played the song at the regular pace and regular chords.
Basically. I’ve been searching whole of yt to get a good beggingers way to learn this as it’s my fav and I’ve never found one. I found this one and in about 8 mins I could play the whole of riptide👊🏻👊🏻Thankyou so much xx

People are having a lot of trouble switching from Am to G. Here's a tip:) Use your index finger for Am so all you gotta do when switching is slide index over one, then add your middle and ring finger to the other 2 strings:)

Hey, Filippa Payne! x : indicates a chnk. Strumming down and following through so the underside of your hand lands on the strings creating a 'chnk' sound.
I learned this at my ukelele class at school, you guys just need a couple of months. You see I've been playing for about 5-6 months dont worry. G is where you put your pointer finger on the 1 and middle finger on the 2 and your ring finger on the 3 you see on your screen. Guys the strumming pattern is down down up down up not down down up up down up that doesnt work, I learned the pattern in about 3 minutes and its pretty easy.
I have done ukelele for years and the way yo pick up songs fast is yo get a rythme by playing a note counting to 2 then going to the next chord then adding a count each time
I made the mistake of not learning this song before I learned the harder ones; for example, Can't Help Falling in Love by Twenty One Pilots. This would have helped me learn Am, G, C, and F, which are all used in the song. So, if this is the first song ur learning, DON'T WAIT LIKE I DID!

Little tip slow the song to .75 if it's to fast it was for me at fist and that built me up to do it at normal speeds :) (any slower makes it sound weird and wrong)
If you wanna try a beginner song I would do counting stars the strumming pattern I use is D D D D it sounds pretty good and it was easy for me to learn
I find the chords and the pattern to be easy. The speed is more challenging, but doable. What is REALLY hard for me is aligning the playing of the instrument and the singing.
