    That's great! I'm a beekeeper in Western Australia and I'm planning to do my own propolis extract. Propolis is resinous and quite sticky, I'm guessing I'll need a higher temperature to extract the goodies in it. You are so sweet! 😊

    Propylene glycol or Zemea can be used as well, if a less sticky feel is desired.

    I've made Hibiscus, Green Tea, Carrot, Rose Petal, Licorice Root and Calendula extract aka glycerites. I use them in my formulas. 😊

    How do you dehydrate your extract into a powder...? Is it possible to do it at home? I imagine that if alcohol is used it would evaporate fast and leave a sediment behind...? Thank you for the informative video!

    Hello, i read in one of your comment « Heating the material and holding for 90 days » => what i s holding? You meant keep in maceration?
    Another comment « Heat between 120-125F & Hold température for 48-72hours » => how to hold the temperature for 48-72hours?
    In another of your comment , you said « you don’t measure the glycerine you used for the material plant » => why don’t u measure? How should we proceed? Is it glycerine with water or only glycerine?
    Do you measure the PH?

Will the extract retain its nutritional value and properties as the original herb in its raw form?     Hi i'm sorry if my english isn't good enough, But May i ask you, how can i know when this extract is going to be expired? And maybe you have any knowledge about making cucumber extract, since i've read a blog that it should need preservative because of the high water content of the cucumber?

    love all your videos. I make my own extract using alcohol and oil with a crock. Never used glycerin, which is cheaper than alcohol.So, I wonder if a crock in warm would be suitable for using 30 days?

      yes, glycerin extracts can be used but be sure to mix it in very well as glycerin can separate in the balm formulas or cause them to sweat

      Mustard oil is not a preservative, and cannot be used in replace of glycerin.

    Hi - How would you label this glycerin extract on packaging? Would you call it "Chamomile Extract"?

      There are a few ways. We list the glycerin separately from the chamomile, but you can also state “Chamomile Glycerin Extract”. For transparency, we prefer to show what the extract is since extract can mean so many forms.

      You can definitely try leaving it in a cool, dark place for a few weeks, but often heat can help get a more potent extract.

      Anything. It's food safe (unless you're using toxic plants). Glycerin extracts have a shelf life of 3-4 years.

      @@yankis. I asked them about the flavour and they recommended that you do not eat this as they are making these extracts for creams, lotions etc... But I have read that you can consume VG

      ​@@sehzzy Of course you can consume VG, it's literally in most medicines that contain herbal extracts. You have to use food grade glycerin. Kosher for example. Glycerin by itself has a sweet taste (like cough syrup).

      No, we don't recommend that. There isn't a good option that wouldn't cause the flowers to break down.
