Regardless, this show is not able to gather a lot of audience since most peeps are scampering to watch the trendy& latest animes while not batting an eye on the underrated animes that actually gives you a wider perspective on the media of anime.

I feel a lot of not just anime but media in general are missing this subtext and nuance and trading it for spectacle or a quick check.
Not all mind you, but it's clear when I see something like Hibike or Frieren, that so much media isn't even close. This should be the expected. Dense, multi layered, subtle and beautiful storytelling.

What most shows & media for commoners couldn't capture?
Pantomime.
This is what the likes of Violet Evergarden, Hibike Euphonium & Frieren express in subtle ways. Be it the microexpressions, nonverbal communication or just the right mixing of the lighting, location setting & music to emit an emotion that really completes the experience.

I strongly disagree with this. Violet Evergarden captures an entire world in just its first episode, meanwhile Sousou no Frieren is mostly just boring, encringing or annoying. There are some subtleties to be found in the character acting, but I don't see anything in it really worth praising (aside from gOoD animation, which doesn't do a lot either). What am I missing? It can't just be that I speak German and understand how stupid the names are…

@@hexcodeff6624 Yet the world is pretty boring, along with the characters. Granted, it's been years since I watched it when it originally came out.
Frieren is much more nuanced and the characters get less development (though still have it) yet have much characterization which is a very important distinction to make. The story is natural very sentimental and makes you want to feel for things where as Evergarden to me feels more genetic and vague with it's themes and such, not that they aren't good mind you.
