I use a flat fold that you didn't demonstrate. It's called the pickman. I modify it a bit, but it's still bulky in the back. I really like flats I use them with a prefold and cover for night time. My daughter has never had a leaky diaper. Great video! It's helpful.
We're now many months into cloth diapering, and this is the first I've learned about jelly roll to contain poop! 😢😆 Thank you! I'm excited to try a few of these.
There’s probably more but that’s the ones I found while searching. 😂 I discovered a completely new type of flat today too. Lots of strokes for different folks!
What is the water proof thing called that you put over the top of cloth nappy. Apparently they use to use pilchers, but I couldn’t find any modern day pilchers ?
I don’t know what a pilcher is? Are you referring to the diaper covers? The diaper covers are made with PUL which they use on wet bags and diaper pail liners.
@@MyGreenNest that would be amazing! I actually bought stretchy flats because I was having a hard time with my prefolds 😅 would definitely watch and maybe it would save my unused prefolds ❤
I actually did cloth diapering when I went on vacation and I had to use long gloves and dunk in the toilet. I didn’t have my diaper sprayer with me. Then I put everything in a bag and washed the diapers where I was staying. I’d honestly recommend disposable inserts if you know baby is going to pop with diaper covers. You can throw the inserts in the trash. Not as eco friendly but better than going full on disposables. I think there is a traveling diaper sprayer you can get as well. Thank you for asking such a great question maybe I’ll do a webinar on the topic.
Hey, um, a lady who uses disposables told me that if the explosion happens away from home, you have to carry dirty diapers around in a bag with you, however many they soil. How do you handle flatfolds on the go, or are they more like lockdown diapers?
Great question! This is true unless you want to dispose of your flat. If it’s breastfed poo you can dump straight in the wash when you get home. I always kept soiled diapers in a good quality wet bag which helped prevent smells. You can also use a combo diaper that has a shell and a disposable insert if you’re out traveling. Those are called hybrid diapers. :)
I just bought some flat cotton diapers. My youngest is 30. My oldest is 46. I used refolded back then. Now I am a grandma babysitting. This is the second day with using these while they are here. Just before Mama comes, I put the two Littles back in disposables. None of the folding ways are big enough. I just made something up. I am going to have to think more.
I think that’s awesome you’re giving them a try again. If anything just do the brick fold (lazy fold) add a booster and call it a day. I did that a lot and it worked well. I did fancier folds that fit better when going out
@@crownpoint9It's one of the folds she showed near the end of the video. It's not as tricky as some of the other types, and WILL catch pee, but it creates a big, bulky "brick" of fabric in the diaper, that unfortunately also isn't great for catching poop.
Bada Wahlang My kids never had an issue but I didn’t do this fold a lot. If you don’t feel comfortable with that try another one or one that you feel would work for your kid.
Ahhhh too fast. Maybe I’m slow. 😅I couldn’t follow very well. Would have loved a breakdown or a talk through of each of them. Or even a series where you break down each one. That would really up your watch time as well.
Thank you so very much I am subscribing! You’re the first person to show it quickly and efficiently
Man I appreciate that so much!!! I’ve been taking a little break from UA-cam but I’ll be back really soon with new content!
These flat cloth diaper folds get crazy.

Thank you for the tutorial! This is awesome :)
You are so sweet thank you for watching!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! The most detailed I've seen 😀
Oh yay, I spent a lot of time watching several other tutorials and tried to put them all in one. 😁 I need to do one on prefolds next.

how does one do cloth diapers on the go? How do you handle the poo when you are on a road trip or at a party?

Hi Dear, wt r u using for tieing the Nappy in the end??
The Snappi? I use Snappi’s and boingos to secure my flats. I’ve done several videos on those if you’d like to check them out as well. 😃
I am from india where can I get those boingos. Let me know pls
We started out with the fan fold, then braved the origami. Now little man has outgrown that and we are on kite folds lol
I used to start out with great intentions then eventually I’d get lazy and do the brick fold lol
Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching!
Love this. But its a bit too fast for peeps like myself with super slow brain hand coordination 😁
So you put baby in this and insert directly under the cloth nappy?
Yes, then I add a waterproof cover over it or a wool cover. :)

Hello ! What's the best one for a year and half baby girl ?
I like toddler size from imagine but if you can find a large or medium sized flat with stretch that’s a good idea too
Do these work for all ages and stages?
Mainly but I do find you need to add inserts as they get bigger into the toddler stage. I do believe they make larger sized flats as well.
Please mention the length and breath of the cloth

Umm won't the padding in the origami fold put pressure of the baby's back while sleeping??

Probably the origami and trifold
Trying. But she goes way to fast and I'm new. Gotta find a tutorial...I've rewinded too many times. Lol
That’s ok mama, try the pad fold and call it a day 😂. Then when you get a little more confident try some others. 😃 Happy new year 🎊

Origami or triangle with a booster
Yes I forgot to show in the video where I add boosters
