I don't think any of us could've thought up a design quite like this! I thought the bot with two collection systems and two shooters was totally out-of-the-box, but this one is blowing my mind. I could never have imagined seeing something like this, let alone building it ourselves.

This why I love first so many outside of the box ideas for solving problems

how is that legal? I'm just wondering because the bar is past the exertion limit for 2022. This hurts my brain too much. could someone show me the maths behind this climb?

      Edit* extension not exertion

Extension limit is based on your bumper reference, so if you can raise your bumpers, you can reach higher.

To be precise, extension limits are assessed as if the robot was sitting flat on the ground - so, assessed relative to the frame perimeter, regardless of orientation. There’s a good diagram of this in G107 in the manual.
Their wheels and hook both respect the horizontal and vertical height limits, and by making their frame very long, the diagonal distance from wheel to hook is enough to reach the traversal bar! It’s very clever and totally within the rules.

But you are only allowed to climb from the mid

Where does it say that? This robot competed in an event and was deemed legal. They do not violate g106-g108.

@@FirstUpdatesNow that is strange. A robot at my event tried something similar and was told not to do it.

Idk what to tell you as I don't know the situation you are describing. Most likely they violated one of the rules I mentioned above. The 2481 robot is legal.

@@FirstUpdatesNow alright. Thank you for clarifying

The climb is legal-we comply with all extension rules and maintain a legal bumper zone throughout the climb
