I love this type of interviews, im sick of hearing questions about dating life or whatever bullshit, let's talk about real things, let's talk about music, about feelings and struggles. Im glad he said all of this, I think he should loosen up and do what makes him happy, balance is everything, keep it real but don't miss out on opportunities, fans come and go, even if you don't sell out some of em will leave you for another artists, some others will get older and be too busy, others will change music style; fans come and go, the most important thing is what you think about yourself. Love you Kells
ndixon88 dumb ass then why are you watching I don't understand it if I don't like someone for example young thug or rich hubby quan there's no way in hell I WOUID waste a hour watch is interview...you a undercover fan on the dl
***** In that case, how do you know how real he is based off of some public appearances you speak of? How personal were the encounters? What were the situations? Was he on drugs? I could go on...There are so many factors that can disprove your comment about him... Trying to figure out how real he is through an interview is as futile as seeing it through your words. throughout the past 2 years... this kid has proved himself over n over and as of today, he has my full respect as an Artist, but as a Person First! GREAT INTERVIEW! a must see! Keep your head up kid !
Woah, I've not even really listened to his music because for some reason I presumed he was a shallow rapper. One of the realest interviews. This dude is an inspiration for real and I appreciate his music so much more now. Fucking beautiful.
This man is one of the realest people I know. Growing up not far from him and knowing him before the fame, he is truly an amazing person. He's afraid of the failure and what others from Cleveland will think since normally nothing good happens to people from Cleveland. He got fame WITHOUT RADIO - how many artists can say that??? Of course he would get even bigger if he put his records on the radio but he wants to reach out to those small towns who can related. Keep is up Kells - I love you man! #LandTilIDie
18:00 This is real conversation not about money drugs and all the "Rap" garbage. Some of us make music just because its therapy for ourselves and we know someone else may need to feel like they are not alone. Sometimes it just takes the right emotion to motivate you not to do something stupid. I've had dark times and I put it into my songs just so kids that have or are in that place know that I and many others have made it to the "Other Side"
jan smiths man, that isn't how that happened. If you watch other interviews he clearly states she had someone go to him and say to him that she wanted to talk. He just took and went along with what the universe gave him. if he's happy then why try to say things that ain't true? He cares for his city. He cares for his daughter. He's got a new album popping, I think he's one happy guy.
MGK is about the most real artist with his own style that I have seen in a long time. Who writes about real shit. It really hits home because he is so real. And does not need to go main stream for a fan base. He got his fans on his own just from being so real and true to his fans. Who I actually think he cares about. I fell in love with his music and style from the first song. He had me at hello. Lol There will never be any one like him. I tell my 16 year old son hey yo, you need to check this guy out. He's bad ass lol
+Oscar Bella U, need to look in tha mirror son, seeing yourself as better yet talking such incredible Trash to a chic? Hypocrisy is The very most Juvenile way to state your mind. Idk about telling your kid to act like someone even if they are cool in your eyes. Just let your son be himself if you do that you are putting pressure in your kid to act like another person. Ok you can get defensive now.
"When keeping it real goes wrong" should be the title for his whole career. People don't support the truth and that's all he speaks! So if ur here for that i fucks with u💝 #estforlife
Wow. This interview was everything an interview should be. Everybody brought something. I was entertained, I felt sad, happy, I laughed a lot. This was real. This was a new MGK that I had hoped to meet since the day I heard chip off the block & fell in love. I'm so proud of this dude. I truly don't understand why he doesn't have more recognition. Maybe that's a good thing? I don't know. I'll have my old 27 year old self at fEST this year. I'll be posted up in the Canadian corner, come say what's up. Lace up. When's the date??
You can see MGK can't take fame. That's what people tend to fail to see. Everyone want to be famous but you don't understand how many cons come with fame then pro. Like everyone we like the fame, the singing, the clothes and a lot that. I think that's what MGK saw. But when it comes over powerful, more then the human eye can handle, it can destroy you. It can turn you to someone you are not. MGK is the realist artist ever. I will always be his fan. Do what makes you happy man. Life is short. MGK FOREVER
MGK is a going to be a big deal I really think people are going to look back at his body of work and really see the story. That's something I think is missing from hiphop as whole for a long time now!!!
Christopher Parks Do your fuckin' homework. Ain't shit missing from Hip-Hop. Artists like Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Cage, R.A. Rugged Man, Time Machine, C Rayz Walz, Eyedea, dem Atlas, Grieves, Murs, and a million other emcees have done this since FOREVER and have never stopped. Before this tool even decided he wanted to rap. The fucker wants to be a rock star but he can't sing for shit, so settled for rap. Just because your ass doesn't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist. Fuckin' tool.
Christopher Parks So we'll just ignore the impact RSE had on indie Hip-Hop and just ignore that Atmosphere is headlining Soundset 2015 over J Cole, Ice Cube, Big Sean, Ludacris, Vic Mensa, Dilated Peoples, Logic and Vince Staples. And we'll also forgot that Brother Ali is on the same card and the fact that he's travelling the world, just got back from Mexico. And we'll forget everything Cage did with Shia Lebouf and with Def Jux. Since you know Def Jux was founded by El-P who's been doing this same shit for 20 years plus and who just dropped Rolling Stones Hip-Hop album of the year with Run The Jewels 2 with Killer Mike. We'll forgot the amazing album RA dropped with features from greats like Talib and Masta Ace. We'll forget that C Rayz Walz is a NY legend. Matter of fact, I believe MGK founded Hip-Hop.
Christopher Parks And with that comment you're pretty much saying that you only fuck with music and artists that are popular, because you need that acceptance to feel good about the art. We live in a WORLD that is HUGE, just because you don't fuck with certain artists, doesn't mean they aren't out there and have dedicated fans all over the world. Stop being ignorant. Your initial comment was ignorant, man up and say it.
Ebro is a wild dude, bahahahaha! Great interview! MGK seems like a chill dude. That song in the beginning of the video with the girl singing... that is that one! That's it right there, that track. The beat go hard too with the vocals, WHAT!
Never have I...found an artist that is okay with losing money in order to stay authentic MGK is that artist. It's not easy to uphold that and I think everyone can see that it's been weighing down on him...everyone that is Est everyone that throws them Ls up can feel his pain like I do...Mgk is someone who views the world like I do which is a pretty good feeling being able to identify with the good and the bad...the movement Lace up has gotten me through some tough times in my own life I'm blessed by his music, and personality
To all the haters saying mgk is depressed. You do know your perception of someone else is truly your own perception of yourself. He speaks from his heart. Whats wrong with that? No one knows what fame brings, good and bad. Personally I feel I would fucking hate it. Trying to upkeep a reputation that the public so eagerly expects of you.Fuck that. I get the impression, yes mgk is fed up of the bullshit associated with fame. That does not mean he is depressed. From studying his music, his life and watching all relevant footage regards him (theres shitloads btw) mgk is truly is humorous, doesnt suffer fools lightly, enjoys what normal a life he has left and is incredibly patriotic when it comes to his home ground. He has no interest in trying to impress the higher archy within the music industry and thats what I love about him. Let the ass lickers run up there labels asses, distort their true personality for media recognition and at the end of all that lose themselves to "fame".
Incredibly insightful interviewer with age experienced words. making it to the other side, not going over the edge. All valid points to take on. Great interview >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Why are so many people hating on Kells? he is my favorite artist. It just pisses me off that no one wants to see a White boy, work his ass off to make it to where he wants to be. He never had it easy. This is Rap at its bEST.
Every time I listen to MGK speak, I respect him more and more. The man has maturity that a lot of 25 year olds don't. He has a lot of understanding that really shows when he speaks his mind. I can't wait to see him grow even more, I'll be standing behind him and his music.
This was hard to watch. I feel like he is so lost not so much with his music but mentally. Seems so unhappy he's been taking a lot of other peoples feelings and making them his. Unless it's an act. Seems real though
Am I the only one that thinks Marisa should be in on some of the interviews, instead of Laura Stylez? Not throwing shade at all, but she's more vocal and more into the interview. That being said, her and MGK seem to be friends, so I guess that may be why, too. My two cents lol.
had to watch this again after 2 months really thought the dude was just whining was wrong the guy seems like hes at a point in his life where hes learning and seeing truth in so many things. transition.
Looks like people told MGK to stop being himself..... and the worst part is, he's listening to them. He is losing track mid sentence cause he has to think about what he needs to say instead of just saying what he really wants... Go look at an interview from a year or two ago... MGK being himself.
I don't listen to this on radio, but watch the shit out of it on here...love it...hope this shit sticks around...I like radio and the whole set up..i just never really listen to or try to listen to radio, but if I can have the chance to listen on radio, I definitely would. Ebro is a great interesting interviewer. MGK is the shit btw. Legit good, great rapper. deserves that title of REAL RAPPER. hes good. end of story. not everyone can rap like that and have their own flow and persona. his music is quality shit. love that shit.
Was seeing seeing a little LIGHT in this interview when they started talking about his fans EST around 22 mins. In the end this video real as fuck and really opened up my eyes. This industry can be very tough to stay YOURSELF in ya know
That was an awesome interview. Say what you want but I'm glad to see someone from my generation fighting to keep it real and not be all about what is socially acceptable or "popular". Can't wait for that new album.
it's like that song by j.cole love yourz right. he kinda talked about how's there's beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success. that's true for so many artists. I really like though how truthful he is. how a person who is in a spotlight can show vulnerability and be truthful you know. he's real I like that
Weird, I didn't like mgk when everyone was hypeing him up, but now that the hypes simmered down I'm stating to like him more. He seems a lot more interesting without the hype. Kinda reversed hipster in this case.
I NEEEEED to know about EST Fest!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited for the 2nd album but I hope for a 3rd EST Fest this year! I went to the 1st 2 (the 1st was the best!). It is my get away from work and shit.
Megan Fox dude. She has her own spotlight and he's also an amazing artist but he doesn't only work one genre. I don't mean music. He trascends not only musical genres but artistic ones cause he loves film, acting, writing, fashion. They're a bomb together. I only wish them both the best. I hope the hate stops this year. People need to stop tearing themselves apart. MGK is the bESTEST 🙌🏻❤🌹XX
I spy some self esteem issues. He is thinking too hard about his legacy instead of focusing on the now. His real real fans will respect his evolution if it's a honest organic evolution. Change is important. Never turn down being fed because you are worried what the next man thinks about you. If the move makes sense to you,do it. His legacy won't be shit 10 years from now. I don't know anyone who works in music, art, fashion etc that is successful and focuses on other people more then the art of creativity.
Honestly I don't think his fans would mind one single bit if he released mainstream (Corney shit in hie eyes) then released like a mixtape every year with the shit the fans really want to hear, I think you can go do your side shit, that the mainstream will like, then return back to home with a mixtape for your fans, I don't think your true true fans would mind if you pursued other avenues so you can be more financially secure. Your fans have to understand one thing, If you don't make money, you can't continue releasing music for them, that's basically what it comes down to. Studio time is not free. Also I don't think your fans would want future fans that really need you to be deprived of you and your help strictly because they don't know about you, you have to become mainstream and maybe do a little Corney shit to be able to show yourself to the masses so they can become fans, if that makes sense.
It doesn't hurt to diversify yourself. Like Mariah Carey tried to be more R&B pop when it's like her greatest albums will and always be those iconic Christmas songs. When you're great you're great. There's no denying talent. Sometimes when people change revenues they can still be talented but sound different. I'm not going to dismiss an artists work from before just because they sold out.
He is not going to kill himself. He seems tired of dealing with fame and in circumstances like that you wish to go back to your city and just be a normal dude again. I want to be an actor but there's parts of me that wishes damn if i make it, i don't know if i could still be the normal joseph i am today and travel spots and skate because genuinely that makes me happy. I feel you mgk.
Every time I listen to MGK speak, I respect him more and more. The man has maturity that a lot of 25 year olds don't. He has a lot of understanding that really shows when he speaks his mind. I can't wait to see him grow even more, I'll be standing behind him and his music.
Damn I think he's so attractive
He has gorgeous facial features; he would make a good model.
Tracey McNeel he does fashion runways so I guess he kinda does model.
Only reason he's famous
Emma R that comment was from 4 years ago
he is gorgeous
@@jbrice9847 lmao yeah ok. Straight Dudes like him cause he's hot.

If u ever have the displeasure of meeting this clown in public u will understand how unreal he really is. Dont buy the hype

You either understand MGK, his music, everything he represents and stands for or you don't. And those who don't understand, never will .
Shut up stop acting like he's freaking Gandhi

I'm glad Laura and Rosenberg wasn't there it wouldn't be this serious and mellow it would be all about amber and other bullshidd
Agreed! I feel like they derail most interviews with the Hollywood stuff. I like that this was very honest and real.
x5iveL1v3sx They're sometimes funny, but I completely agree with you.
x5iveL1v3sx rosenberg is pretty good though, he cares about the music lol
x5iveL1v3sx sad dat he gots 2 cozy up wid dat ho amber 4 publicity.

MGK seemed crazy depress and the fame got to his head
He needs some time off
Even though he's been off for a while now
Carlos Martinez Na dude he has to drop his album then he can relax, he seems hella sad doe
Carlos Martinez Bruh been off for years, well for me at least I haven't heard from him since Wild Boyz
He's been touring, in many movies, dropping new music all the time... How's he been off? He's never off.
Travis Adams Ochocinco was his last. Only his fans follow him. I'm not a fan of his music
Nope he's never been off. Just seen him 6 times tbe last few months, he ain't fucking off. He's on as fuck and always has been..
I love coming back and watching this💕💕 and look where he's at now.. He deserves everything✖✖ EST for life🖤
MGK signing to Bad Boy was a silly idea. You're better off being independent than signing with that label.

Why is mgk so fucking slept on like real shit he one best out mane
That waffle truck story just made me a big fan of this dude..
Been waiting on a new MGK interview!
He is so underestimated in many ways!
Incredibly insightful interviewer with age experienced words. making it to the other side, not going over the edge. All valid points to take on. Great interview >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
He’s absolutely gorgeous and talented and so down to earth and I’d love to meet him

This is a really good interview. I don't really listen to his music, but I understand him more than a lot of these other entertainers.
I Love You MGK!!!!!!!!!!

Ebro always starts imitating the energy and speech patterns of the person he's interviewing lol
Much love to this guy. He's a good dude with dope music.
had to watch this again after 2 months really thought the dude was just whining was wrong the guy seems like hes at a point in his life where hes learning and seeing truth in so many things. transition.
Ebro has it all wrong in this interview. He doesn't know MGK. He should just let him speak
Mgk Keeps It Real , That's Why He Will Always Have My Support.
I don't care who your with and what you do i stand with you MGK, keep your chin up, can't wait to see you at the show
Mgk is going through a lot because he knows a lot and the responsabilty of fame has a lot of pressure
Hell of a talented young man with so much heart. And soul.
That was a good interview. Get him back there before he leaves town after the movie.
Looks like people told MGK to stop being himself..... and the worst part is, he's listening to them. He is losing track mid sentence cause he has to think about what he needs to say instead of just saying what he really wants... Go look at an interview from a year or two ago... MGK being himself.
To me it seems like THIS is him being himself.
He's drunk stupid
Dakota Ellis you've obviously never watched a MGK interview before this one ..... lmao
great listen. MGK just got a new fan cause he's so real. Preciate this bro
The last 3 minutes of the interview had me rolling!!!!!!!!! XD
MGK is the greatEST
I don't have an issue with Ebro most of the time, I don't get the hate really.
Keep your head up MGK
Awesome interview. .. i was just watching and old vegas video of him about a week ago.. ~PorchialeanLarkin
MGK constantly speaks truth and nothing but truth. Realest rapper out in this day and age, Est for life.
Was seeing seeing a little LIGHT in this interview when they started talking about his fans EST around 22 mins. In the end this video real as fuck and really opened up my eyes. This industry can be very tough to stay YOURSELF in ya know
MGK is the realest PERIOD
Hes a breathe of fresh air. He will do well in whatever he does. This is the bEST interview ive seen in a while. Mgk!!!
Stoked he shouted out Billings Montana
That was an awesome interview. Say what you want but I'm glad to see someone from my generation fighting to keep it real and not be all about what is socially acceptable or "popular". Can't wait for that new album.
MIDWEST! Machine Gun Kelly is exactly what the midwest needs
it's like that song by j.cole love yourz right. he kinda talked about how's there's beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success. that's true for so many artists.
Kinda reversed hipster in this case.
bEST rapper alive.
real shit bro ! keep strong! i looked up to u, that what makes me rap good.
48:49
Young man young man, i dont wanna hear dat no mo.
👌
Bring Cudi on the Show... Next album is coming
I like this guy
I spy some self esteem issues. He is thinking too hard about his legacy instead of focusing on the now. His real real fans will respect his evolution if it's a honest organic evolution. Change is important. Never turn down being fed because you are worried what the next man thinks about you. If the move makes sense to you,do it. His legacy won't be shit 10 years from now. I don't know anyone who works in music, art, fashion etc that is successful and focuses on other people more then the art of creativity.
He's one dude who I could kick it with. Famous wise.
Same. He's actually pretty intelligent if you listen. Btw your hot
2021 I'm here! Mgk is a rockstar now yess tickets to my downfall is one of your best albums mgk you can do it all
I LOOOOVE THE WAY MGK SPEAKS MMM YUMMMMMY :
Yes! bring fEST to the UK, PLEEEEASE
Who notices weezy's platinum albums in the background?
Honestly I don't think his fans would mind one single bit if he released mainstream (Corney shit in hie eyes) then released like a mixtape every year with the shit the fans really want to hear, I think you can go do your side shit, that the mainstream will like, then return back to home with a mixtape for your fans, I don't think your true true fans would mind if you pursued other avenues so you can be more financially secure. Your fans have to understand one thing, If you don't make money, you can't continue releasing music for them, that's basically what it comes down to. Studio time is not free. Also I don't think your fans would want future fans that really need you to be deprived of you and your help strictly because they don't know about you, you have to become mainstream and maybe do a little Corney shit to be able to show yourself to the masses so they can become fans, if that makes sense.
that's very true, he's missing out worrying what people will think, when he should be worried about eating.
He has grown tremendously.
his impression of going super saiyan at 35:20 had me dyin
FUCK YES! Hailstrom is gonna be on the album! That song is gonna be kick ass!
Great interview. Subscribed.
Amber rose like tattooed mfs frfr.
I've always had respect for MGK for being one of the most genuine people in the culture. It's refreshing as fuck
Yo Mgk just do your thing bro idc what you do or say.
I haven’t talked this whole time I just watch so i hope you don’t hear anything from my side im just listening and watching
+braveraxeblade I agree. He's one of those guys where his personality is more appealing than his looks, even though he is quite good-looking
Lsd
I hope you guys still are caise hes tearing it up right now
well, welcome back in 2021 hope u still a fan💪🏼🤟🏼EST4LIFE
mgk is the bEST-EST!
