For $70 given the quantity of minis you get, it’s a good deal. I am hoping the come out with a 2nd edition that fixes some of the issues. I really like the system. It’s D&D light system that has some potential.
This went on a flash sale at Walmart for around $20 when it was an obvious buy. At $70 you have to consider whether the game is a good enough play experience or if the minis are worth it if the game is not.
Thanks for this video Rob. Have you had a chance to try any of the revised rule sets on BGG, such as Bardhammer or Bardsung: Reforged?
I enjoyed painting the miniatures (still have some of the Fables box to complete) and I quite liked the initiative track and the combat system. I wasn't that keen on the boring tiles or the endless grinding to get through a chapter. League of Dungeoneers came along, and all the minis found a new purpose. Haven't bothered with the Bardsung game since. Some great minis though.
Hey Rob. I am the first to watch your new video. Wish you a nice week.
But its Steamforged Games. Profits over gameplay.
i have been very happy with my games from Steamforged, and they are not more expensive than other companies, also their kickstarters are quicker delivered than most too - so i disagree and i think they give pretty good value for money - compare their prices , delivery costs and speed of completiong to cmon for instance, it is much better
I love the miniatures. They are fun to paint. I liked the idea of generating a dungeon as you go. The game itself just drags. I didn’t care for the gameplay. I’m only keeping the game now for the miniatures. Hoping to use them in my D&D group or for league of Dungeoneers that will be coming soon.
Good idea
