Ha! I will admit we tested it out on a steak before I ever used it in the darkroom, you know, to make sure it worked. We have a better quality one in the kitchen now. This one is the cheapest model on Amazon.
Hi The Naked Photographer! I bought a C41 kit out of date (80's or 90's) but unopened. Can I follow timings and temperatures stated or it needs any kind of compensation? Thanks in advance for your help.
@@TheNakedPhotographer Great! There's a fair bit of 'looseness' promoted around the interwebs with regard to critical temp. How about testing/myth-busting by deliberately processing outside 100F to see when colour crossover kicks in-especially for RA-4?
I have a master list of video topics I would like to make. One is C41 at different temperatures to show why 100°F is a good idea. RA4 however, can be run at lower temps, and Kodak has a chart of temp and time for that.
@@TheNakedPhotographer I've watched your RA-4 printing vids, very inspiring! What I mean by "especially for RA-4", is this will be the 'real' test-to see at what point the colour crossover (on the neg) gets unpleasant/difficult to correct in the final print. I'm glad the topic has made your list!
Great, now I'm looking at C-41 kits. Because clearly I need a new photo rabbit hole to go down.
I developed my first rolls of C-41 this week! Pretty sure I watched your how to video five times before ever poured the developer in.
I hope your photos turn out great!
I love that you are using a sousvide bath to regulate temperature. Now I have a reason to get an Anova sousvide.

It's really an overkill. Hot water and a thermometer is more than enough...
Knock yourself out, I’ll keep the sous vide

I would use it as normal, but if the developer is dark brown it probably won’t work regardless
@@TheNakedPhotographer thanks a lot!
How did the negs turn out?! Did you manage to maintain 100F ok?
They were perfect
