Every question was considered and the answer interesting to hear.
Who needs a TV screen to be entertained ?

In 1955 Ed Norton called Brooklyn the garden spot of the world. With the Brooklyn Daily Eagle closing down in 1955, then the Dodgers leaving in 1957, Brooklyn was on it's way down.

I envy those who lived out west and had the privilege of listening to Mr. Scilly on their transistor radios when men like Koufax, Drysdale, Stan Williams, Maury wills, Wes Parker, Sweet Lou, and all those great players of the 60's , 70's, and 80's wore Dodger blue. Hearing him weave a magic tapestry of words

Over the airwaves must have been wonderful. I was only able to listen once he and Garagiola were doing the game of the week on nbc. I have listened to some of the old broadcasts preserved here on UA-cam but there are so many that just aren't available. I feel like I have missed out to a degree that I will never truly be able to fathom. For those who were fortunate enough to listen during that era, please share below. I would love to read your stories.

I was one of those fortunate ones. What can I say? Vin was like an old friend to all of us in So Cal. As a young child dad would make us go to bed early as all kids did but we'd have our radios and listen to Vin until we fell asleep.

Very true. I often fell asleep listening to Vin call a game on radio....since 1977....
      I've met Vin....I've even met
Sandy Koufax....got his autograph on 25 March 1989 Saturday....I have a photograph to prove it....
I also attended Game 1 of The 1988 World Series on October 15, 1988.
I was at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida for Easter Weekend 24-26 March 1989.
I have been to many Dodgers games since 1977, I have watched many on tv....bust most of the Dodgers games over the last 47 years have been taken in on AM Radio....

O’Malley was a prick. But Robert Moses was a bigger prick. And hence they left.
