120Hz for base model. 60Hz in 2024 is ridiculous
Eh, not really. I’m only 31 and even I vividly remember the times when simply having a camera on our flip phones was exciting. A device that struggled to even load a simple web page. 60 fps screen for the lower end ones is fine. Literally just get a Pro if you want more. Duh? 🙄

I'd still stick with the 16 Pro because I love the telephoto lens. If they brought both telephoto and 120 Hz I'd be stepping down for sure.

I’m a pro max user , and I’ve tried downsizing, just can’t do it lol.
I used to love 5.8" - 6.1" phones but I desired better battery so in 2023 I got my first big phone, now I'm never going back.
6.3 might be do-able I might be able to downsize from 6.7 to 6.3 :) Depends on camera differences - that was my main reason for Max (again) ths year
I totally agree with your comment, I used to always buy the pros, once I bought the promax, I cannot go down to the other models, I figure that the audio is better on the promax, I am visually impaired, so I like something that has good audio, strong, audio, loud audio.

Great video, thanks. Was considering going from a 12 to 15 this year but the size stopped me. Was hoping that the 16 would be smaller but not likely. The 12 fits into pants, jackets and bags but the 15 does not. I guess the larger size works for some people but not me 😖
I agree, there should still be a smaller size option. I used to always get new iphones yet now I am still using my iPhone 12 mini because the bigger sizes hurt my hand to hold and don’t fit in my handbag as well. I’m sure they can afford to provide a smaller version even if the sales aren’t as good!🙄😑
How do you think iPhone cases will work with the new Capture Button?? I’m guessing that if it will have swipe gestures, with a case, it won’t work
The majority of people want big screen phones. That is a sales fact. I suspect a big factor contributing to that is many people now use their phones as their primary "technology device." So having a large screen for viewing content and for content creation is more important than in the past.
true, watching UA-cam videos or things like netflix is always going to be better with a bigger screen
The new sizes will feel pretty much the same as the 14 models. I think the rumored width on the 16 Pro is actually a hair smaller than the 14 Pro, yet a bigger screen.

I would love an eND if they are adding pro controls. It doesn’t have to be on all the lenses, but an eND would take iPhone film making to the next level.

As a 14 Pro 6.1” owner and happy with the size, the rumored measurements on the 6.3” 16 Pro are extremely close. No wider and just a few mm taller thanks to the smaller bezels. I’ll take it.

I want to keep my 15 Pro for 2/3 years but the speaker buzz is so irritating I think I need to upgrade to 16 Pro.

Buy a refurbished older iPhone instead of buying the newest one when it comes out, that’s what I do. They’re just too expensive brand new and the “upgrades” are so minimal there’s no point in upgrading every year anymore imo. I went from 12 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max last year when the 15’s came out and saved almost $800 buying refurbished and it was in mint condition with 93% battery health
If I upgrade to the 16 pro, ugh new case and screen saver again!
the best small form factor for a phobe is 6 inchs to 6.2 inches.

I still love my iPhone 13 mini for personal phone and iPhone 14 Pro Max for work is already too big and cumbersome to use. Waiting on that 16 pro maybe.
Are there any new features coming to the next iPhone that are not for the camera, I've owned smart phones for the past 20 years & in that time I probably haven't taken more than about 20 photos with them in that time. I also thankfully haven't yet reached the time in my life when I require to have my vital signs constantly measured so don't need any of the medical sensors on phones or watches either.

What's the deal with Apple and Bluetooth audio connectivity only supporting underwhelming AAC as codec, while any 200 USD Andoroid supports Sony's open source LDAC , which is excellent and around since forever? Are these Apple Execs enjoying their 1000+ USD gear with substandard AAC? I don't get it.
I think Apple made a big mistake in placing the Mini as a „normal“ iPhone if they made it more Pro I think many ppl would have bought one, including me.
I dont want bigger phones. The iPhone Pro is really big enough, if not already to big for me.
If somebody wants a bigger phone go with the max, this one is for you. Make that one bigger, if you want to take a call with an iPad Mini in your face go for it!

It's a scam strategy - replacing mini phone for another "better" for the same price and pushing basic models to higher price and call them iPhone 15.
Touch ID should have been added on the iPhone 12 and newer models when the pandemic hit. Perfect spot would have been the lock button, but if the capture button actually happens, then that should be touch ID. I prefer face ID but there are times where touch ID would be more convenient.
The capture button being able to work as a zoom in swype is a great feature, but while you're not using the camera, that swype feature on the capture button would be great to bring down your notification centre. But I can guarantee you that it won't and it won't have touch ID either
I just would like the capability to switch from FT to a regular call, without having to hang up

I’m on 8 plus because I dislike the notch / island. Might have to get a 16 pro max tho because the phone/ apps are slowing down. If it was up to me I’d have a 7.5 inch bezel less, notch/ island less iPhone. That would be the ultra/ best phone ever for me. But I’m also 6-3 with huge hands
As a 14 Pro Max user, I can't imagine an even bigger device. If the 16 family is truly bigger I might actually drop down to the 16 Pro, assuming I even upgrade this generation.

The iPhone has never had a normal camera form factor. Using it as a camera has always been a bit awkward. Adding a Capture button won't change this.
And I can't imagine how well this button will work with a phone case, e.g., a silicone phone case.
iPhone cameras are great unless you make hard copies of your photos. Also, the standard Camera app constantly jumps between lenses and often uses inappropriate lenses for the shot. It's hard to control, and images are often very noisy just because the wrong lens was used.
Personally, I think and feel like anything bigger than a 6.9 inch screen is just entering the realm of a tablet and not a smart phone, i mean how are to be able to hold it and talk on on it
Smaller the better. The iPhone 15 Pro imo was perfect in form and function. Right size, ok weight, beautiful build quality.

I think Apple completely undermined the iPhone Mini by releasing the iPhone SE 2020 just six months before. All the small phone users who'd been waiting years for an upgrade bought that, destroying demand for the Mini six months later. It never recovered. A shame.
I like iPhones but rest of the products are scam.. (more expensive).

Whaever the zoom on telephoto, if it’s not match with as much sensitivity as a main camera, it’s useless. The main camera is still the only usable camera; just move closer or farther away from the subject.
im a lifetime samsung/android user (samsung galaxy s22 ultra) and am planning on switching to an iphone this year. but im also going to wait for samsungs newest flagship and see whether ima stick to android or switch.
I’m going to tell you to do what I tell everyone else to do. Do what’s right for you. I went from a Samsung note 20 5G to an iPhone 14 pro max. I love the ecosystem and I’m never going back to android. But that’s just me. and despite the lack of innovation these days, I still find the high-quality build of the iPhone to be superior to android phones. just my 2-cents

I think my iPhone 13 has the perfect size, I don't want anything bigger, I'm still not sure when I'm going to make the switch to a newer model though, might be iPhone 16 Pro or 17 Pro, I don't know. But I can't stand the Lightning port anymore, it's absolute garbage and I didn't even think about it when I switched from a Galaxy S10 to an iPhone 13 when I did but oh man... Lightning is absolutely terrible.

Agreed. They just keep incrementally improving the camera and speed. It’s boring. How fast do I need the UA-cam app to open? Most people aren’t instahoes; the camera was more than fine half a decade ago.

@@zaf7794 I wear a screen and mask at work face Id doesn't work finger print unlocks every time in a split second, my face isn't always directly planted in my phone. I have a iPhone 15 pm and a s22u for work btw I'm not biased I prefer iPhone apart from these things.
I mean do we still need shortcuts? If Siri is gonna be AI smart I don’t want to use and setup all those shortcuts step by step. I just don’t like that app. I feel like if Siri is getting dramatically improved we don’t need it

Better camera faster processor, better battery so basically the same shit they been doing. Hopefully someone will figure out how to jailbreak it so it’s at least worth getting

Spatial video won't mean anything to most iPhone users because most iPhone users won't have Vision Pro or access to Vision Pro. Vision Pro is just a very, very expensive toy right now.

Yes(!) the phones are getting too big. All i care about are the camera upgrades, usually found only in the Pro models. But i don’t want yet a bigger iPhone. I’m still holding on to my 13 Mini which can live in my pocket without tearing holes in my pants, while relying on compact cameras for photography.
