I love this game. I burn through it once every couple of years. I just played the 16 bit remake that was released on the Sega Genesis Virtual Console for Switch, and even that version is so good.
I somehow missed out on this craze growing up.
Mega Man is my favorite video game franchise of all time
The first game is definitely not all that friendly to newcomers though, there's a lot of early installment weirdness and rough edges that they polish in the later games
We need to come back to some of the later ones. We'll probably stink at those, too. 🙂

It's probably awesome if you're not middle-aged and awful at games.
I knew you were gonna have a bad time the second you chose the Guts Man stage first. I never beat that level until I was an adult. Mega Man 2 and 3 were much better than the first game. You still couldn't shoot multiple directions unless you had certain weapons.
Important and relevant question though. What was worse on Captain N: Mega Man with his awful voice saying "mega" in front of everything or Kid Icarus with his cracking voice saying "-icus" at the end of everything?
Mega Man. At least he was kinda funny. Kid Icarus was a major wuss! 🙂
