I live next door to my grandsons and it’s delightful . I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else . It will be good for her Majesty to be close with family and her great grandchildren.
When I grew up I lived next door to my grandparents. A house next door to my grandparents went up for rent so my mom started renting it then she went from renting to getting a deal to become a home owner and my brother and I came along and when I tell my son I got to live next door to my grandparents he gets a little jealous.
Duchess of Cambridge has made the right direction concerning caring for the queen that was my way caring for my in-laws having children around the queen helps the queen to keep going in more ways than one may God bless you all my dear Kate and William and family

Her closest friend and Lady in Waiting died at 90 recently. She's really alone now. Hired help, even first rate hired help, not the same as the child of the child of your own beloved child.
Lady Farnham was a close friend, but she still has Lady Susan Hussey, who has been her friend for longer even than Diana Farnham. She also has Mary Morrison and Philippa de Pass.
I think it's a great idea. This way the Queen won't be all alone and have William, Kate and the great grandchildren near by. At her age and fragility she needs to have her loved ones near, especially now that Phillip is gone.
I think this is a wonderful idea. Huge home but just right to downsize from Windsor. To have the family close by is comforting. I hope HMTQ will seriously consider it.

Catherine isn't a princess, she's a duchess. She will become a Princess of Wales when William becomes Prince of Wales and she still can't be styled as Princess Catherine it would have to be Princess William of Wales for that to be the case. Diana was styled as Princess Diana by the press and public, her official title was Diana, Princess of Wales.
It would be wonderful for her, and she could still go to the “office” when she wanted to get away. My backyard joins with my daughter and son-in-law and the grandchildren can run over anytime I want them or anytime they want to come. It’s wonderful and really does keep you young.
This move will enhance her mind and therefore, her health and bring her laugh being around the children. Good bye to being alone. No one is an island. Happy Healthy Blessed Mew Year to everyone!!

It might also give George a chance to form a few memories about what kind of monarch she is and how she views the job, now that he is aware that someday he will be expected to fulfill the role of monarch. I can't think of a better example for him to have when it comes to tradition and why such a thing is valuable in the modern world..... and when it must bend to accommodate modern events.

Well they don’t and can’t put her in a Senior retirement home so this would be good accommodations for her and they can make sure she doesn’t fall or hurt herself and a standby nurse.
I have to admit to being a little envious of those who had grandparents in their lives, my grandfathers were both gone by the time I came along and both grandmas were states away. This would be a good idea I would think.
My grandfathers were gone when I was born and my grandmothers were gone not much later. My mother had me just short of turning 40 and her mother had her at about the same age.

The only problem I could possibly foresee would be stairs. The Queen's Royal Apartment in Windsor Castle is on the ground floor, but Kensington Palace...it has so many stairs.

The Queen won't move from Windsor. It is her favourite home and she will not appreciate being portrayed as vulnerable or incapable or in need of "being looked after or kept an eye on"! She is the Boss and cannot host her State functions and the like from a shared home like this. It would not be practical.
My grandson regularly drops in to visit his great grandmother, who’s 99 in March. He understands her problems and has learned to give gentle hugs. He talks to her about life when she was young and they have lots of laughs.

Plus George and Louis are likely to go to Eton which is very close to Windsor. If she did move to Kensington Palace it should not be loudly broadcast for security reasons. Additionally the Queen should wear an alert pendant in case she falls or has a security situation.
The Queen will never move to Kensington. She has moved to Windsor and that is where she will likely remain. She has never lived at Kensington. It is housing for other Royals, not the Sovereign.

I think that would be wonderful! My Grandma lived on the homestead with the rest of our family for years after my Papaw passed away, and it was wonderful. She got to watch my son grow up to the age of 12, before she passed away in her late 80s, and she loved being with him every day. I think the Queen should do that, as it would be much safer, and I know she would absolutely love being with her great grandchildren, and they would love having her. How thoughtful of William and Catherine to want to do that!
According to the interview I caught on video he made it into the path adjacent to the Great Walk and had been under surveillance from the moment he began climbing over the fence. Apparently once he was over the fence he had absolutely no idea where to go or even what to do next and the police had no problems in apprehending him when they caught up to him. Didn't even make it near to the castle if you look at the diagram the police were showing. This claim is blatant scaremongering.
It would be a marvelous opportunity for all, especially with Prince George and Charlotte to have more of an opportunity to easily visit and play with this most magnificent woman.
Prince Charles and Camilla live a short distance away in Clarence House. Perhaps this would work for the Jubilee Celebrations when the Queen will be in London more often. Might be a bit noisy with all the events and people in London in June.
My father passed away at 46, we received no support or sympathy from my father's siblings but his mother ....my GranDmother was close to us. The siblings started called my mom and us.... the Vixen and her cubs.......Because of our closeness.
