I know I’ve been criticizing Brooke lately for her execrable attempts at playing mommy to the Tridge children, but today allow me to place the blame where it really belongs - on Ridge, the kids’ actual parent. First, allowing yourself to be taken out of town without checking in advance about your return time is never ok when you’re a parent - even if your kids haven’t just lost their mother. Second, he never even bothered to call Katherine or whoever once he got there. Third - he tries to guilt *Bridget*, to wreck her whole evening, by bringing up the fact that it’s the first time the kids will be without a parent since Taylor died? I’m sorry, sir, why is that argument more impactful for the kids’ aunt than their own freaking father, who turns it into a punchline? Fourth - at night, he doesn’t even bother to call and talk to them; they need to call him! Ridge is the absolute worst here.
I agree with you completely. But I would add: here you can see that Brooke did not care about his children as long as she had Ridge in her clutches. The two of them are happily sitting in the cabin and are not worried about the emotional well-being of the kids, who have only been without their mother for such a short time.
I hated Ronn Moss's Ridge sooo so much in this era and it kept getting worse. Caroline and Taylor were the only ones who could infuse some depth in Ridge.
Excellent point! Ridge is their only living parent. He can't just go off to Big Bear without making arrangements for how and with whom the kids will spend the evening. Any responsible parent would have reacted as soon as they realized the taxi wasn't going where it was supposed to be going, and refused to go any further without contacting a babysitter. Or just refused to go any further, period.
I guess the intention was to create a romcom with these two trapped at the cabin. The fun for me could come only if an earthquake surprised them at the cabin and kil led these undeserving characters.
The Ridge/Bridget storyline is the worst, but I have to say JF really is good with the kid actors. This makes the dynamic believable that @Faye has been writing about, where Bridget is able to offer the children the kind of everyday maternal stability that Brooke can't. This storyline would actually make a lot more sense if Bridget's feelings for Ridge were completely pIatonic, and the confIict between Brooke and Bridget was not a romantic rivalry, but their aunt Bridget simply wanting to give the children time to grieve and recover without having to deal with their father getting together with a new woman to replace their dead mother.
True - but then the point of the storyline isn’t to make sense, but, as @Nick and as have separately observed, to drag Bridget down to Brooke’s level (and below) by having her do something worse than Breacon.
@@FayeILI know! Like you, I am so frustrated with this storyline that I'm rewriting it in my mind into something that's not quite as nau se ating. I love your idea by the way about Bridget deluding herself into developing feelings for Ridge as a symptom of her messed up childhood. _That_ would be a lot more compelling than what is actually happening.
I think he wants someone who he really trusts with Taylor s children who are experiencing the worst of the kids nightmare, losing a parent at a very young age. Clearly he is not the one who can deal with it ( busy with his own life) and he is asking the only person that actually can. Edit. He is not nearly worried to at least try to come back with Brooke and look at his children, or her new one.
And why are the writers acting like Bridget is his only sibling? He can’t ask Thorne or Kristen? Also why wouldn’t he consider who would stay with his kids in the bad weather before running off with the family bicycle?
@@lil_jon411I've been saying from the start.. Even if everyone forgets Thorne exists.... Get Kristin to come over with Zende, who actually is their cousin and their age to play with. That would really be a big help. Even Amber and Rick could pitch in since Ridge seems to be on speaking terms with them now.

Okay. Macy turned into a non-bride way too quickly. Normally these brides are wearing their dress at least three episodes, because someone was breaking up the wedding.
So crazy Ridge shouldn't be away from the childrens it's too soon to leave them they just lost their mother 😮 I could care less about Brooke leaving her child lol
That ambulance was in no hurry to get there. It was still day when Sally had the heart attack, and when they arrive it's already dark outside. 🙄

Brooke is wearing Pamela Voorhees's blue sweater from Friday the 13th. 😆

Those braids look _just aw ful_ on Brooke. And what's with the acoustics in the cabin? He r voice is somehow even more irritating than usual.
The voice and all her antics were irritating. It's like she regressed to high school mode

The writers need Brooke to look young in order to compete with Bridget.
