When Susan Flannery puts on one of her performances my eyes are glued to the screen and she makes me feel every emotion.
She is utterly brilliant. Gives me goosebumps with her authentic performance. An emotional powerhouse ♥️
She’s best actress on this show, without a doubt
@@julieet52 Yes same for me! Quite Superb acting!
Damn these episodes bringing back some old old memories for me!! I started watching this soap when I was 10 years old now 32 years later and I still interested in it wow!! Thanks for posting the old stuff 🥰
Yes! Same with me. I was 12 & love these early episodes. By 2002 I was done with this show. Love the old stuff
I know, I started watching when I was young with my grandmother and feel in love with it then, this brings back a lot of good memories and helps me remember a lot that I forgotten. 💜
@@jeffreyj3906 same with me too 🥰
@@v.b6028 yip I am done with this show too but these old episodes have missing my childhood something serious!! I love how watching these episodes now I can remember what I was doing at the age between 10 and 14 years old.
I was 17 or 18, and remember bits and pieces of this, only glanced at it while my mother watched. Lol I remember hating Brooke and my mother actually liked Brooke.
Thanks for these episodes. They are so much better than today's writing.
Definitely
Tell me about it.
Susan Flannery CARRIED this show. I felt the anguish and confusion in her upon Eric asking for a divorce. Her character may be a lot of things but Susan WILL give a PEAK SOCIETY performance. She deserved all the flowers for this episode.
I thought Stephane was for sure gonna smash that dinner table up at the end! 😂
Thought the same. Was afraid of the nice dishes etc...😁
Me too!!!!😄
Now this is what a powerhouse actress does: makes you go from loving her to hating her to loving her again and feeling the character’s pain. Susan Flannery is the best.
She used to be in Days of our lives as Laura. Had huge storylines, raped by her bro in law, carried his baby, her husband Micky didn't know for years! So good. Well Bill Bell knew her from Days, and knew she be perfect for Stephanie!!
She also was on Dallas!
Whaaat?? I've hated that character all along. 😂
@@trudi1962 And me.
But sometimes I like her when she smiles.
Right! Right or wrong, everything Stephanie did was for her family. She was right to hate all things Logan. To this day, they're enjoying the fruits of her labor. Gold diggers all of them.
@@TheSF1986Brooke did create Belief formula that FC made hundred of millions off of.
Amazing ending. Susan's amazing with the script! "After 30 years of marriage and tell me you don't want to try" - WOW!
Powerful... and painful.
we are so diffrent- yeah right it took you whole 30 years to realize that
Stephanie acting like she never saw that coming.... No matter what manipulations u do if love isn't there, then it's pointless!
Maria… either the most patient woman in the world, or a bloody saint. Every meal she makes for these rich grubs gets wasted. She must be paid in leftovers, or else the fridge is full of them, and I can’t see Eric and Steph tucking in to reheats every night.
I hope Maria gets paid well. Cooks for them 3 meals a day, cleans that big house (even the chandeliers, hoovering the house), doing the washing, ironing (Ridge told Brooke to give Maria any ironing she has). Now has the guest house to clean more often on top of the main house. At least Stephanie treats her well.
Perhaps they have more servants who aren't visible.
No, but every meal we have seen has been wasted that I can remember. They brought caterers in for all of the parties where the guests DID eat the food.
@Marios Papadopoulos there was a butler in the second episode, and Steph used “staff” in the plural sense when talking to Clarke once. I reckon Maria lives in full time and they occasionally hire other help on a casual basis if Maria needs it.
@@DonaldTaft I remember the "staff" used in the plural sense, and I got the impression they were also more permanent (not like the staff they specifically used for parties etc)
@@trinit2108 Maria even makes the fruit salads, as if all she does in that house is not enough, she has to cut the fruits in little pieces for them.
I do remember that scene where more staff was mentioned (and it wasn't the large staff for the parties, the catering etc) So I got the impression perhaps a cook, a second maid, etc. But indeed Maria seems to be making all the meals there so where is that cook? lol
Even when Brooke cooked that meal, Maria was the one who had to go get the ingredients, and she was in the kitchen with Brooke, so even for that she was involved.
So you mean to tell me Heather Tom wins Emmy's for being frantic but Susan never did for the same thing--only better?
IKR? I like Heather Tom but for her win an Emmy & not Susan is ridiculous
Heather is no where close to Stephanie or Sally
she won because she was in the storyline what was meant to rise the awarness
@@ansaksa so favoritism?
Eric blindsiding Stephanie, at least he should have told her that he is aware of her scheming
@@trinit2108 She probably does, but with everything she has been dishing out, no wonder.
yes I wanted him to tell her he overheard what she said in the hospital
he doesnt want to mention that he knows because it can ruin his chances with Brooke; if he tells her then she'll for sure do her best to keep him away from the logans and he will feel forced to stay with her
@@deesee3622yes.. he is blindsiding her :)
Now that is some damned fine acting of 32 years ago! Susan Flannery, I salute you!
No one compares her. She nails every scene👏👏👏
This is her 3rd soap, she did not settle
Interesting how Stephanie let’s her daughters live their lives yet she was so over-the-top involved and controlling with her sons’, especially Ridge’s life.
The daughters didn't give Stephanie that much chance to control their lives.
They turned hostile and put up a wall between them and Stephanie (or even an ocean).
Even in today's episode we had Felicia referring to how Stephanie also tended to make the choices for the women - and how that had been a big part of the reason why Felicia had left (and had not returned for 3 years).
Naw, remember how she hired Clarke to see if Kristen was into men? She wasn’t open to letting that alone.
Felicia was the smart one who stayed waaaaaaaay away.
Well that's because the girls moved away ASAP, and don't tell their mom all their business. They also didn't seem to be in regular contact with their mother. They boys however, stayed living under the same exact roof and don't really have a backbone when it comes to their mother. Not to mention how Ridge and his mom have such a close relationship, and he tells her just about everything.
@@mara4450 I feel Stephanie had an issues with her mother who maybe never loved Stephanie.
Maybe that explains the fact that she dislikes her daughters and other young women.
Hahahaha 😂😂😂 Clarke when he says it's not your teeth I'm afraid of. 😂😂😂
Is Bill unconsciously trying to replace Caroline with Mark? The way he said “I’ve lost her” makes me think so…
Over-dramtic power-hungry tyrant.
I can imagine that being the case.
Bill is a widower and Caroline is his single child.
And he had been very protective of Caroline (and it fits even with the later writing that there had been twins and one had been kidnapped as a baby - shaping Bill the way he his).
I don't think that he would really be "replacing" her with that son, but using him to split his love and to deal with the fact that his daughter does not need and want him that much in her life, has now a life of her own.
@@mara4450 I concur on this as well.
With more present-day television series, soaps and movies, there are often key references to events that are foreshadowed. I wouldn't put it past the story developers that these words used by Bill were intended to foreshadow Caroline's fate. They must have known and been planning for her death for some time now.
Bill is undoubtedly seeing Caroline's happiness which is beyond any other time in her life, but he never accepted Ridge and his despise of him gives him this way down gut feeling that Ridge is going to fail as a husband. He has not been able to.convince Caroline and ironically he is waiting for the day to backup his belief so he can say "I told you so." He's not wishing for it to happen or that she will become terribly hurt, but Bill clearly gets satisfaction to be proven right. This line may well be planned as an easter egg of what is to come, and not a genuine feeling that he is losing her. After Caroline's demise, Bill's words would hold significance of the depth of his anguish.
That Susan did not win an Emmy for her B&B work until 2000 (I don’t think she even was nominated) is outrageous to me.
You're kidding!!! 😳
Too many other soaps around a lot longer than BB. Look at Susan Lucci, as Erica on AMC, took her years to win a Emmy!
@@bonniek5331 at the time this released on TV, I think there were only 2 soaps being aired in my country - BB and Y&R. So these actors and actresses were like family household names.
@@teligon here many many, SF was up against many.
Where are you from?
@@bonniek5331 Trinidad & Tobago.
Cable TV was introduced some time shortly thereafter, so, we then got access to any and everything. But I had already lost interest in the show... never paid attention to any other related content. I think that the Y&R story with George Rawlins/Cassandra Hall/Paul Williams was one of the most intriguing stories and it ended unceremoniously. That was the first off of my radar.
Superb acting from SF, as usual! The writing really established a great dichotomy between Brooke and Stephanie in their responses to losing Ridge and Eric, respectively. Both ladies needed to find a way to cope with losing the men even though there was a much bigger picture. Brooke needed to blame Stephanie for losing Ridge even though it was a simple as Ridge loved another woman more than her, and here Stephanie needs to believe there's another woman (of course she's actually right) when the bigger picture is that Eric simply doesn't love her, if he ever even did.
At least Stephanie won’t be walking around with that put-on insipid “I’m in love” smile she’s had since her heart attack.
I’m sure she would have like to stay a happy fool.. especially now when she is having medical heart problems..
It's karma time for Stephanie.

The writers have such good strong female characters like Stephanie and Sally and they just have to destroy them by making them feel this obsessive humiliating need for arrogant indifferent men...

@@deesee3622 I'm not sure, but I am thinking later on Thorne tells Stephanie about it and Stephanie goes after Brooke. Telegraph, telephone, teleThorne.
@@joyr36 Yes! Thorne tells Stephanie later. In the interim. I think Stephanie will blame Beth and Brooke. I hate to say this but I don’t feel sorry for Stephanie except for the fact she is just out if the hospital. Eric should have waited a bit.
Poor Stephanie … gut punch for sure even for someone as powerful as her.
Yes but she deserved it
I would never understand why Felicia went over there to see Brooke
"She really did a number on me Felicia" The sad way Brooke said that is a little heartbreaking.
I agree so really don’t get why Brooke wants to have anything to do with anyone in the Forester family. Visit from Felicia a little odd.
@@ctgctg1 I see what you mean, she should want to stay as far away from them as possible. However Eric and Thorne have been generally nice to her, she never had a problem with Kristen, and now Felicia gives her a friendly visit. Only Stephanie and Ridge caused her harm.
I did want Brooke to leave that family when she was living with Ridge and wasn't appreciated enough, or at some future times with Ridge. However at this point with Eric who treats her right and appreciates her, I don't mind at all. Brooke is really loved and appreciated and for now she seems to be happy with him.
If Rocco never left the show he probably would have been with Felicia because they got some things in common like they both wear leather jackets
I feel so sorry for Stephanie. She really loves him. She tried everything to keep him from leaving her. Trying to make her relationship with him better.
The Felicia and Brooke scene felt weird and very forced just for them to meet.

Sally Spectra is a DIVA!
Stephanie was fabulous! What an actress and a half! I was glued to that performance!
Astounding how Stephanie and Eric were on completely different planets, much less pages, about their marriage.
Susan’s acting in that final scene 😮 even I cried!!
Susan Flannery is the BEST!! Love this actress
@@briannakiser233 me too!
@@briannakiser233 I totally agree. It’s the same people & storylines. Brooke, Ridge, Liam, Hope, Steffy & (new) Taylor.
@@briannakiser233 totally. And with the same characters on screen, I can’t watch. I used to always love the side characters that would either provide comical relief or another story. Now with those main characters constantly on TV, I can’t watch the show. But to be fair, I haven’t watch the show properly in over 15 years. I’ve never liked Brad Bell and his style of writing. Or should I say… his favouritism!
Back when soaps brought REAL DRAMA! Susan Flannery is excellent! I wish Stephanie wasn't so hooked on gaslighting Eric. She was beautiful, powerful and wealthy. She could have her pick of men.
Some observations:
-Kristen being written out of the show as Teri Ann Linn's 3-year contract is up. Did she want to leave because the character had endless possibilities still. Seems she was taken off contract a few months early still.
-Her exit left writers scrambling to put Sally and Clarke together out of nowhere. When did Sally even hint previously of having an attraction to him?
-JJ's contract is also up and she opted to leave but extends a few months so they can give Caroline a proper exit.
-The storyline with Eric and Brooke is not only rushed but may never have happened, at least not so quickly, had KKL not been pregnant and JJ opting to leave. Writers needed to find Brooke a baby daddy. Ordinarily this would have made a great love triangle with Ridge-Caroline and Brooke. We all know soap marriages are only happy for two weeks so the likely scenario would have been Ridge as the father with the pregnancy wreaking havoc on the newlyweds and Stephanie throwing a hissy fit as usual. But with JJ leaving writers needed to focus that storyline on her sickness and Brooke's pregnancy just wouldn't fit the narrative.
Personally a lot of actors who appear on soaps, that signed a 3 year contract, options to leave, which 6 months before the end of the contract, producers negotiate.
Looking at B&B after 3 years, out of the original cast there are only 8 remaining which they are...
Susan Flannery
Joanna Johnson (who leaves shortly afterwards)
Ronn Moss
Katherine Kelly Lang
Lauren Koslow
Carrie Mitchum
John McCook
James Storm
It’s amazing to me how Eric can look down on Stephanie with such judgment when he was the one who made the choice of marrying Stephanie over Beth supposedly because Stephanie was pregnant when really it was because he needed the money and then he emotionally cheats on Stephanie and expects her to sit down and take it…. What a man 🙄 it’s funny Stephanie got her karma for Beth and Eric is going to get his when he realize he’s a space filler for Ridge
Absolutely correct. I wish a lot of bad things to Eric. He was cold and also manipulativ at times. He did not care for anyone but himself. A hypocritical disgusting man. He probably never gave stephanie a fair chance in this marriage. He was also so judgemental, but was himself worst than anyone else.
@@trinit2108 Eric was never Mr nice guy. He wasn't and isn't even a good person. He is a narcissistic disgusting hurtful manipulative person. He was never a decent, compassionate, caring or loving man. To no one. I always hate it when other characters (especially stephanie) were referring to him as kind, considerate, compassionate or loving and caring. He was no of that. Just a disgusting narcissistic old pervert.
Totally. Love this comment. 100%
@@trinit2108 exactly. But he married freely. He did not had to give into Stephanie's parents. She was trapped in this marriage too. Probably was not asked by her parents. She probably was just told to marry him. He accepted freely and willing the money that came with that marriage. I feel no sympathy for him. Poor Stephanie. She was abused as a child by her father and abused in this marriage by Eric. He slept with a 17 year drunken girl. It's possible to see that as rape or at least very questionable.
@@trinit2108 she must have felt some sort of resentment. She was so young. Didn't want to become pregnant. Maybe it was a escape way from her father. It's the tragedy for her. And sad. She was so strong, but eric and her children were her weakness. There were other who loved her guinely. Sad she never could give them a real chance. But Eric never really let her move on with someone else.
Bahaha the witch's response to Eric's news. Things will only get worse.
Eric must eat 2 times 😬.. and no one really fighting for Kristen to stay.. and why felicia visiting stranger Brooke on late evening? This soap confuses me...
I know Eric is busting to tell Steph he’s leaving her, but come on… the news of Kristen’s impending departure was taken like a detested afterthought by him. “She can’t…!” followed by a head shake and then it’s on with the show. This is his no. 1 child who with supreme effort he managed to convince to stay in LA, who he spent the subsequent years mentoring and growing into an independent talent in the fashion world, with designs that wowed the industry. Now she’s leaving, which will create an incredible void in his family and the company, and it’s just barely addressed. I find that whole point quite pathetically written, sorry to say. Really bad job, Mr Bell!
Or it just implies how less Eric ever really cared for any of his children and grandchildren. I don't think he was a loving or caring father. Never saw him as that. He cared just for himself. He is an selfish, self centered, egotistical and narcissistic prick. So, maybe that's just what he now showed and everything before was just pretending to care or love this children. I think he never loved anyone but himself. He is not cable of love.
Very poorly written. Lazy. And the reaction by Eric makes me hate him even more… If that’s possible. He looked like he heard the news of his favourite kid leaving but was too busy wanting out of his own marriage so he could get down & funky with Brooke.
I’ve been constantly bemused the past few months how no one in the family has mentioned that Eric had filed for divorce from Steph nearly two years prior. I guess they were trying to forget it happened. My point is, Steph’s reaction today is the complete opposite to her reaction the first time. Obviously she was totally deluded that everything was fine with Eric (and it was until he discovered the truth about what she did to Beth), but it is a bit strange that she reacted so emotionally without mentioning the previous divorce - ditto Eric not mentioning it.
I thought they same thing too..
I mean she doesnt know he knows about the whole Stephen Logan, Beth thing
My recollection was that Stephanie was frustrated and nearly ready to throw in the towel in early 1988. But when she figured out that the “girl from college” and Eric had seen one another, she was on a mission. She had a purpose.
This time around she thought things were moving in the right direction with her and Eric. And maybe after the insane 1988-1989 she took comfort in their love. She also had the attention of Clarke then.
But mainly, this was way out of left field from her perspective this time.
Yes, it was very unexpected by Steph this time, and she doesn’t know that Eric knows what she did, but for neither of them to mention the previous divorce proceedings at all and act like this is the first time is very bizarre. There seems to be this big effort by the writers to gloss over that entire storyline to make it more tasteful for Eric to go after Brooke, seeing as the first divorce was for her mother?
I can see why it was totally unexpected to her. Eric absolutely led her to believe that they were on a very passionate and progressive path. You can't deny that. For days now she has been exuberant about it WITH him without any indication of his reservations or disinterest. They were set on a date of his own planning on the night before she was hospitalised.
First episode in the last months that I actually cried...So sorry for you Stephanie❤️. No one deserves to be treated like that!
Did u feel this way for any of Stephanie victims
Semone G Look, I don’t like Stephanie as a person. She can be super cruel and cold to every person she conceive as a threat. She can also be kind warm and very generous to ppl she respects..but the way the writers wrote the end of her marriage was extremely cruel. She just experienced a heart condition, almost died. Thereafter She was under the impression that she won Eric back and was on the top of the world. She fell so hard and so painfully that it was like someone cut her heart out. And even Stephanie deserves more than that..
Stephanie go to Chicago, go gooooo, forever

The Forrester's just can't stop stalking Brooke. Stephanie, Kristen, Ridge, Thorne and now Felicia. They are all in for a big surprise. Sally looks beautiful in her outfit. I like Stephanie's outfit too.
I agree with this. I would have been super annoyed by everyone (except Kristin) coming to her place of work or her house! Even though Felicia seems nice, that was a weird visit too. What was Brooke going to say to her?
So much for Stephanie thinking Brooke is out of her/their life. (LOL)
Thorne - still had been treating Brooke as a friend (and dating her sister).
Eric - promising Beth to look after her daughter - and instead became her love interest.
Ridge- wanting Brooke to be his friend/buddy and still worrying about that ex
Felicia - bonding with the woman that "had taken on" Stephanie
But has Kristen been there too?
I thought Kristen had been too busy with her own love-triangle to ever care about her brother's ex-fiance. And Kristen is now leaving.
