Hermes vacuum is the best way to describe the obsession and the roller coaster of emotions from getting trying..achieving..but still wanting more. Love your video, really resonates with a lot of people for sure. Let’s stay grounded!
I think this was incredibly honest of you to share. Most people would probably not have been so forthcoming on this topic. Thank you for sharing your story and part of this "journey."
I really enjoyed this video. This definitely hit home for me because I just started getting into Hermes and also fell into the trap of trying to buy everything so close together while also trying to build a good relationship with my SA. I have two kids and also don’t have a lot of fun money to spend, however i have no idea what came over me. I found myself browsing the website and even thought about trying to start a collection of plates just so I can increase my spend. Now, I’ve taken a step back and am trying to limit myself to only going to the store if there’s something I really want or for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.
I can definitely appreciate your honesty regarding your Hermes “journey”. I didn’t get into Hermes until my late 40’s when I was in a financial situation where I had the disposable income to support the spending. Like you in my 20’s, I always dreamed of a Birkin bag, but I had other goals I needed to accomplish first. I finally accomplished those goals and the set my eyes on a Hermes quota bag. I got my first quota bag at 47. Lol. My goal many years ago in my 20’s was to have a Birkin by 50, I hit that goal 🤣 Anyhow, it’s refreshing to hear someone being honest with themself when it comes to this luxury stuff Social Media is the worst when it comes to influencing. Many people on social media portray this lavish lifestyle and for all we know, all of it can be lies. I try not to get sucked in because outside of social media, I don’t really see birkins and Kelly’s everywhere 😂.
aw, thank you for sharing. That's wonderful and I'm so happy you achieved your goal! glad you enjoyed my video 😃it's so nice to hear from viewers like you!
Dear , your video is the exact reason why I went preloved route and got last week my first and last Birkin 30 gold on gold ! Yes I paid premium but I did not get myself stuck in the boutique games and the endless route of wanting more and more bags from boutique and consistent spending there .. I realized I want one Hermes bag only to conclude my current handbag collection.. I acted accordingly
@@WASP-ee7ey do the same and win your mind peace ✌️ you will spend much on boutique without any guarantee that you will get what you want by the end ..
I think it depends where you live also. My SA basically guaranteed if I spent 1:1 I would get a bag within a month or two, which I did - a B25 in black with gold hw. So personally I would rather do the 1:1 and have the pre-spend items + the bag vs. paying a premium and buying from a reseller. But I can understand how in some countries the "game" is incredibly stressful with no guarantees and a much higher spend ratio. Regardless, congrats on your bag!
@@anabella05 it makes sense dear . But here in Dubai it is so competitive so for sure the spend ratio is not 1:1 and I plan to have one bag only so I opted for that option
@@el3yonel7azeneh89 oh Dubai is notorious for requiring a crazy spend ratio so I don't blame you! I heard you need to buy diamond jewelry and probably have a 3-4:1 spend ratio in order to get a bag.
Great video! I lot of what you said resonate with my own thinking. I stopped visiting the H store when I realized that the bag I was after isn’t something I’d actually wear until I’m much older. So next I visit will be when I really want something specially from Hermes.
I really appreciate your honesty with your journey. This is a much healthier way of shopping in general. I believe one should only purchase what you want rather than an useless item to allow you access to a holy grail bag! Unfortunately with current obsession of the brand, it is hard not to get carried away.
Hermes kelly is my dream bag. I have some collections of Hermes Oran, belt, bracelet, coin purse and Evelyn Pm. After, I watch your Chanel I think your right and honest. I JUST WANT TO WAIT THE RIGHT TIME and save some money, especially now all the luxury to expensive, foods and gasoline. Just think the future. It’s end the world. I got lucky and enjoy my Hermes collections. Thank you for your story and prospective.
You are very intelligent woman. Fomo is real and it takes someone responsible to realize it and deal with it. I can’t understand the obsession with Hermes but I do feel the same way about Chanel. So I kinda get it. Thank goodness UA-cam is not the real world. Enjoy what you have
Isn't that how the luxury goods marketplace work? They suck you in with the thoughts of getting a brand name and get your money that way... Good for you, deciding to take a step back.
Oooh my god! I thought I was crazy when I started getting “immune” to the prices. My first bag was 2k and I was like oooh my god its soo much kept buying stuff. Just this month I looked at another bag and I’m like hmmm 5k isn’t bad or what if I get a small trunk.. I was thinking to myself whats wrong with me.
Thanks for making this video! I just dipped my toes into hermes, met a great SA and had a great first experience. I was on the fence about whether I should continue the journey since I have already “started” and didn’t want to lose such a good SA but as I was thinking through all the different what-ifs, I catch myself being so materialistic and wasteful… sort of like showings signs of gambling addiction. Your video made me feel better knowing it’s okay to let go and to be smarter about my money. I do have one more bag on my wishlist and that is a Chanel medium classic flap, I would love to know your thoughts on getting a pre-owned one, a vintage one or brand new one from the Chanel boutique.
Thanks for sharing Michelle! A Chanel medium classic flap is a great bag to have! I think you would be able to find a nice preloved one, especially if you have a specific budget in mind that is less than current retail. The quality of the older bags is actually better, you just have to watch and wait for a good deal (one without smells or too much wear and tear). my Chanel bags are from the boutique as I like that experience so if you’re willing and able to pay for new in store, that’s great but in the end, the bags will be “loved” anyways. I think it comes down to the color you want, as there will be more options in the preloved market, unless you want a classic black or a color that is currently in season.
Thanks for your reply 💕 and sharing your thoughts on the classic flap! I will keep my eyes peeled for any preowned deals, especially since I am after a black one which like you said, should be easier to find.
You are on point about this H craze.. I discovered the world of Hermes in the middle of the pandemic. After 1.5 years in my H 'journey', I have a B30, B25, K28, mini Kelly, Constance 18 and Picotin 18. Luckily, not a 1:1 pre spending. I am not in a hurry, still want a K25 and mini Lindy in my lifetime😄
I like your channel because you’re not a VIP. Most people will never be VIPs at Hermes! I’m not! Watching unboxing after unboxing gets boring. I like hearing your reasoning and discernment.

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS …big topic that no one talks about. The obsession that comes with Hermes which Hermes creates by “hooking” us 😩. You go girl !

Thank you for sharing so genuinely the psychological struggle of the Hermes journey. It’s very rare to hear it explained like this.

Thank you for sharing and keeping it real! I have to consciously reel back from the H games as well.
🙏👍
I started in 2020 also, once I heard Cardi B talk about her Birkins.
