Wow, incredible! Thank you for 10k views so fast! Please subscribe or check out my other videos if you're curious to see more of this game. I did not expect this game to get such a mixed reception. While I definitely understand a lot of the criticism, it's still a hell of a lot of fun to play. And I can't really justify getting mad at the return of a cult classic that no one in a million years could have predicted coming out... shadow dropped in a Nintendo Direct no less.
The sound and presentation are spot on, but the animations could use a little more time in the oven. Overall I'm stoked though, I never woulda thought this game would be remade.
I'm not even upset over the graphics. I used to rent this game in the reg back in the day. And it's been remastered? I can only carry this erection for so long...
IDK but i felt like the filmore theme was stripped out of one of the main things that made me like it a lot , the organs gave it a feeling that I'm not getting here.
At least you have the option to switch between the new and original music. I have only gotten up to Bloodpool, so there's much of the new soundtrack I'm yet to hear.
@@marcovarius Oh You can switch between soundtracks? That's an amazing feature! I didn't knew about it but it for sure is nice to have, I'm really excited to buy the game really!
I had the original and beat it at least 10 times. This remaster looks pretty good, but I was hoping against hope the remake's music would be faithful to the original's choice of instruments.
It's a great remake but you can easily tell it's a mobile game that was ported to consoles. I'll never understand Square's obsession with mobile games.
Bought this on the Android Market last night for $19.99, I actually love it. Great remake of an incredible game, and the soundtrack fucking slaps! Damn, whomever the bassist is jamming out to that Fillmore goodness, woo! They're incredible, because seriously, it just SLAPS! Glad I bought this on Android at least, I will gladly get the Switch version once a physical version is made.
Somehow, they remade a SNES game thirty years later and the graphics got _worse._ It’s got loading times the original never had, the birds blend right in…comparing this game to the original provides an excellent example of how higher-definition graphics don’t always mean better graphics in video games.
Quintet deserves more respect than this. You know what this reminds me of? Those doujin games you'd find in DLsite or Comiket in the early to mid-2010s. Considering the scale in which Square-Enix operates, I don't think that's their intention.
@@BrickmanZero it's possible. But you toggle the language in game. The options are English, French, German and Japanese. So I'm not sure if it would make a difference if you set your Switch to Spanish.
For those who are saying the game looks lack luster; have you ever played the original ActRaiser today? I have Nostalgia for it sure; and it was impressive at the time, but it is not the most deep combat driven game. I think it was because it tried to blend two genres in one (the town building aspect I feel got the most attention). This game seems like a decent remake in that vein and even has more combat mechanics than the original. However; as a 2021 game; this is not worth $30. Even that Spiritual Successor that came out a few years ago on the Switch (made by Sega and music by Yu Kushiro) is technically a better game than this at half the price. I think I will get this one when it hits that price or cheaper.
@@shadyacr True. I'm still waiting on reviews of Act Raiser Renaissance and if they compare it to Solseraph. While I don't think this game looks terrible; no way it's better than Solseraph which also didn't review very well.
I mean could it have been handled better from the appearance? Abso-fucking-lutely. But this is Actraiser, not some multi-generational franchise with a guaranteed audience. However, the exorbitant price tag of $10 off of what I paid for this thing in Cartridge form? Lol. Try I'll wait for a Steam Sale and get it for 12.99 or something.
I have a mix feeling about this game. I never played the original and I believe it could be a good Possibility to do it. Yeah it has modern feature and the graphic is... ok (it is hard to find a good word by my english-skills), but it could be more than this.
Looks like Nintendo is going all in on the metroidvanias this year. There is quite a bit of dissonance in the graphics, which is surprising from Square Enix. The soundtrack sounds promising.

You can also switch the soundtrack between modern and the SNES classic.
I never knew this game existed until now. I remember the SNES game and loved the soundtracks.

This masterpiece deserves a better remake

@@marcovariusYeah, why not move them to console games?
I feel that Square has an odd obsession with the mobile market. Maybe one day they'll make a new AAA ActRaiser game.
All I can hear in my head is the original sword swing RAA RAAH RAAAAHH!!!
Lol yeah yo
The art style is really iffy, but the music is still incredible.
God bless Yuzo Koshiro.
Yuzo Koshiro again...I never knew that was him and I love this fantastic ost!
I'm happy to see ActRaiser finally get some attention after two decades, but the graphics leave much to be desired.
yeah they are horrible, specially on the action stages.
@@lightelos I really hate the manipulated still images-style animation. The world building parts look pretty ugly too.

The original was a master piece. Not so much the remake...

Desafortunadamente, no puedes cambiar el idioma al español.

Will you make a playlist for this walkthrough?
Yes, I plan to upload more of the game. Stay tuned! :)
Wow, the graphics got slightly better on this game.
Those pre-rendered sprites died with the Playstation/Saturn era for a reason.
This might be the worst horse running animation I have ever seen. 6:40

Actrasier Worsening - Coming to a Sega Saturn near you.

This game isn't a Metroidvania. It's an action platformer/town building sim hybrid.
But there are definitely some sweet Metroidvanias on the way. :)
