Such good enjoyable fun! I watch Danny Thomas, I Love Lucy, Dobie Gillis, Leave It To Beaver, Ozzie and Harriet, Dick Van Dyke, Dennis the Menace, Family Affair, the Patty Duke Show, and the Donna Reed Show and ignore all the modern trashy sitcoms.
Danny is such an amazing father yes his probably made mistakes and yells in grumpy old man type way here and there but his such a great father not many kids were lucky to have parents like that in those days but when I always watch Danny Williams show im so happy to see and hear how good he is to the kids
That was the general idea. Danny originally auditioned Mary Tyler Moore to be "Terry" that season- but told her, "With a nose like yours, nobody would believe you're my daughter." He *DID* remember her when he suggested to Carl Reiner she'd be perfect for the role of "Laura Petrie" on "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW".
What’s funny is that they went to all that effort to recast, but they married her off after 14 episodes and we never saw Penney Parker again. Sherry Jackson came back for one more episode in 1970 to help launch the revival.
Danny had hoped she and Pat Harrington would "take over" the series {following Terry's marriage to Pat at the end of that season}, so that he'd be able to appear occasionally with the rest of the cast- but General Foods, his sponsor [and CBS], insisted he continue full-time......so Terry and Pat "disappeared"-- never to be seen again.
Not surprising, as Charles Stewart- who-co-wrote this episode- later served as executive producer and head writer of "PETTICOAT JUNCTION".....and also wrote "Is This My Daughter?" {September 9, 1967}.
It was great he had a African American woman in a decent role in his show. They probably would not have allowed her to play anything else. Great man Danny Thomas.
I Love Lucy has more timeless comedy with a better cast and wittier writing, as well as Ball’s physical comedy. The Danny Thomas Show is more of a “warmedy” - with more gooey sentimental moments. The Kathy character isn’t terribly likable - kind of a pampered, sanctimonious goody two shoes (she was better in the early episodes when she was first introduced). And the acting from the kids is not always the best.
@Jared Linden Don't get me wrong. I Love Lucy's classic. And I. Have to? Push back on what you said about the kids. Rusty and Linda, I thought they're writing for those two kids. were excellent Angela Cardwright was a Scene stealer. Truth be told, make room for Daddy, is a different kind of show than I love Lucy. But they're all under the. Desiilu productions studio umbrella. When I was a kid back in the late sixties early seventies. I watched reruns. There are a lot of episodes. I still have not seen it. So it's good that UA-cam Allows it on their platform.
@@erickthefantabulous1 There is no right answer! Interesting to hear other opinions. Just an FYI - while Danny Thomas rented studio space from Desilu, Desilu itself had no ownership in the show or creative input. The actual shows produced by Desilu say “A Desilu Production” at the end, while those that just rented studio space said “Filmed by Desilu”. By the early 60s, I think there were far more shows filmed by Desilu than actually produced by them.
Well there's no Angela Cartwright because she's not Angela Cartwright what the hell? That's one of those things probably the first time a sitcom ever replace an actor without telling anybody why or how it happened.
Watch the complete 7th season of the classic sitcom THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW - ua-cam.com/play/PLtbMv4lXX2mtY5L2GxBTLUvSHmdpLM1I-.html

What’s your favorite sitcom?
At the moment it would be "Dennis the Menace". Every episode is a joy! @@jahrn692
I'm a nostalgic dude myself. Andy Griffith Lucy show, the Beverly hillbillies, Petticoat Junction are some of my favorites.
I love this show. Danny thomas was.a great actor. ❤❤❤

My daughter is leaving tonight to study. Oh boy, oh boy!!!
Love this show
Danny Thomas as Don Vito Corleone and owner of Paramount?? The man was planning.
Yes, that's Robert Reed (with an accent) at 4:04.
Right! He was on The Brady Bunch!
And, before that, "THE DEFENDERS" (1961-'65).
Rusty is still calling his stepmother by her first name. That will change in another year or two.
They fooled me: I thought Terry in this episode was Sherry Jackson with a different hairstyle, but it was actually an actress named Penney Parker.
Originally telecast on October 5, 1959.
Interesting how in the introductions Danny Thomas is seen, but everyone else (?????)
Yeah. Terrible credits
Do you plan on uploading the remaining seasons?
Penny Parker looks like Sherry Jackson.

Exact same episode when Betty Jo comes home from Europe

How about the child psychology book by Crazy Guggenheim?
It was great he had a African American woman in a decent role in his show. They probably would not have allowed her to play anything else. Great man Danny Thomas.
Amanda Randolph was an outstanding comedic actress.
She still black.
LAX un the 50's jet airliners hadn't arrived yet.
what years was this on?
1953-64, and then another season in 1970-71.
Season 7 was 1959-60.
1950s
Y they live in apt and not a home??
14:45 They live in New York City, most likely easier since Danny also works in the city.
Why is this show not revered like I Love Lucy? I think it's a better show

I liked them both. I don't know how these got released but I believe Marlo Thomas had something to do with it. I always loved Danny Thomas.

I think Rusty Hamer was superb.@@jaredjlinden
what happened to Sherry Jackson ????
She left bc her contract was up
2:16 your are smearing my COVID rules here? ..... What!!! 1950....
He said “Smearing my carbon copy”
What the hell. Covid late 60s? Omg
The subtitles were obviously written by an AI chatbot or some such.
