The actual cartridges coming in different colours and materials to those of the original run, really give them some extra fineness in my eyes. A transparent case with circuit boards peeking through underneath give me the geek-shivers!
I love these rereleases of cult classic Mega Drive games like this, Retro Bit’s quality is absolutely amazing, the art work is true to the originals, thanks for sharing. Fun fact about Sol Deace, the Mega Drive version was originally only released in north America and was never released in Japan so technically Sol Deace was originally a Genesis game.
That montage of Hammering Harry at the end is to leave it like that, dont touch it, dont move it. Looks so good. Sad that I didn't preorder it, but at least I preorder El Viento and Sol Deace. Good video!!
I do really love the art style of 80s&early 90s Japanese manga because they makes me yearn the nostalgia of late 20th Century which was the golden age of pop culture and the age of SEGA Mega Drive!
Gorgeous and thoughtful physical editions like these give me hope that physical game collecting isn't going anywhere too fast in this growing digital world
@@christianorthodoxy4769 the link is in the description. Or you can go to Retro-bits website. If you want to get the latest game you will need to hurry as pre-orders end tomorrow and they do not make a second run.
Hi Mike, Wishing you and your love ones a Happy New Year kind sir. Always a pleasure seeing you in action and will continue to do so for sure. 8^) Anthony..
I was amazed by the cartridge EL VIENTO. Beautiful all 3 unboxing. They are videos that I love to watch and excellent analysis of each cartridge. I can't wait to see the final fight MD finished and in fisic format . And without forgetting the great game they are making, Castlevania sotn. Very good video, happy holidays and greetings from Argentina friend
a tip for the next time, patiently cut a rectagle to the plastic seal on the top of the game, then you just have to slide the game through the sleeve case, It slides perfect. The bad thing is the sticker cover the back of the sleeve case. Thanks for the video & enjoy the games, im thinking to buy this ones soon.
Sol Deace and El Viento are my first purchase since finding out about retro-bit. I had to get "Wild Guns" and "R-type Collection" off eBay 😮💨. Now I'm always checking for releases i'm interested in.
Thanks for sharing these awesome unboxing. The quality of these re-releases is really next level. The title etched on the PCB, viewable thru the translucent cartridge shell is really cool. 👍
These collectable rereleases aren’t something I’d get for myself, HOWEVER, I will say the quality is quite something. Really cool packaging. I like my games and all, but my thing is collecting music, hard rock and metal CDs. And I too keep the back stickers or the “throw away paper” that’s usually found under the shrink wrap, so I 100% get that
I love what Retro Bit is doing with these limited runs. I wish I had the disposable income, and space in my house for a proper collection. For me it was always the artwork that set things apart. I always felt like the game cover art North American titles was intentionally "dumbed down", as if we could not appreciate Manga and Anime. As a result, I tended to be somewhat prejudiced about a games quality when the cover art looked lame, and did not match what the in-game images showed on the back of the box. It really is too bad too because I kind of missed out on some awesome games that I only just rediscovered.
Hi Mike, Hope you and your love ones had a wonderful Christmas bro. Now back to see you in action sharing your great videos and seeing you in action bro. 8^) Anthony..
Makes me want to get back into collecting and buying some of these but I stopped collecting so I'm torn about it as prices are out of my range. Only games I have left now are revenge of shinobi, sonic and zero tolerance and 4 amstrad cpc games that were my first experience of gaming.
Pretty neat. Just now hearing about these. They’d probably sell a lot more of em if they printed more. 1/2 of the print run is snatched up by resellers (probably the whole plan anyway)
I guess they don't want to be left holding stock. The pre-order windows are around a month, so plenty of time to get one. I guess if you want their legacy games it's a pain, and eBay is your only resort.
Retro-bit is doing a very awesome job! These releases look soo gorgeous!!! I wonder if they will ever rerelease sega's very rare and expensive japanese games like Dahna, Twinkle Tale or King Colossus.
It's crazy how these games were rated low when they came out but now highly collectable now. However a game like eliminate down did rate high but never got a release outside Japan. Now limited run, give us true rare nes, snes, and genesis games like you're doing with eliminate down. These current ones aren't really hard to collect for.
Since you've been doing content about upcoming genesis homebrew, did mega cat studio finally finished making "Phantom Gear"? cause I'm looking forward to buy and play this game since late 2021
Hello man. if you remember 3 weeks ago i talk to you about how to open this games and i told you ill buy them. Las week i got my games and what was the surprise, they are not beveled :/ , plugged El Viento into the console and I instantly noticed it didn't join the same as an original game, forced the cartridge slot in some way (test it by yourself). I have right now 4 retro-bit MD games and only Mega man wily wars is beveled. They say in the description of the products is beveled to avoid damages to the cartridge slot, i dont know how much of this info is correct but is info easy to find on the net, comments saying that a cartridge without a bevel damages the cartridge slot. For 60-70€ each game, i feel scammed TBH, in this aspect it looks like junk from aliexpress and it seems like a bad way to destroy the retro-bit editions, which are not bad.
i have digged more into this after pay 237€ for the last retro-bit batch games and they are not using the bevel tool at all. I probably know youre getting the games for free by retro-bit?, give me a favor, dont get any more games from them if youre not sure what are they selling because is a lost for the end user.
I'm not sure happened here. My copy is bevelled. I know they use different distribution for Europe and NA. Maybe their manufactured by different companies. Which region did you buy yours in?
@@RetroGamerBoy hey, thanks for the answer. I had a great battle on this, long story... Retro-bit never made me a problem with my claims even i got replacements boards send by them but... the surprise with bad beveled quality again and i return everything to the store i bought it, loosing money by the exnchange coin rate and very probably not a good deal for the store too. Im sorry but im not going to buy again anything from this brand. Edit: European distribution. The megaman wily wars was perfectly beveled, the unique one.
Those dumb cartridge colors are off putting, they should consider releasing a 'normal' shell or even give it in the package. At least it's not as bad as the filthy green of Eliminate down, what are they thinkin' ?

Awaiting these to come my way as I ended up going for both, not just El Viento. Can't wait

Yup I love this, they are amazing collector editions.
What wonderful !! video Mike 👌🏼 Merry Christmas.🎄🎁🕹️👊🏼
And to you my friend.
10:10 the pinky cartidge looks sick! Oh 18:53 I loved the wooden cartidge too!
They look great. Retro-bit has done a great job.
Both amazing release. Was very happy to get them.
Wow' that's awesome!' 🔥🔥✨
They are great, I've had Sol Deace on my Nomad over Christmas.
your video edition is great, congratulations on the channel i love it.

Hey we were all guilty of buying or not buying games on the quality of the cover. 😅

the King strike again

I'm sure Sol Deace would've rated higher if Japan and PAL regions had got it. At least Sol Feace came out on all 3 regions.
It's amazing how many great games did not get a world wide release.
The so-called "manga-style" label on the cartridge for El-Viento is from the short-lived manga that was created when the game originally came out...
Really? That's very interesting.
Well sorry I'm just here for "Sol-Deace" and "El-Viento" Glad you pre-ordered them
😅Just skip the Nintendo stuff.
Que gran coleccion! Saludos
Hey do you know if this has an actual ROM inside the cart, or is it just an eeprom?
I ask because it matters in relation to game genie/PAR carts.
I think they are eeprom.
Since you've been doing content about upcoming genesis homebrew, did mega cat studio finally finished making "Phantom Gear"? cause I'm looking forward to buy and play this game since late 2021
It's still in development. It must be finished soon.
Intro pumped me up lol, only to be even more surprised by, Alien Soldier at the end \m/-_-\m/
🤘😝🤘
Would you be looking for the Samsung ‘megadrive’. I went into a game store the other day and the had one ?

That El Viento cover and cart are sexy af... (Yeah, the reverse is the Genesis cover, and you can be honest. It's hideous...)
