The ANC has been successfully split into three, because black people are easily aggrieved, they can just as easily be divided and be managed on the basis of same. However, nothing changes if nothing changes, and the collective votes of the ANC and its two breakaway parties (MK and EFF) amount to the same 65+ percent support it has always had, infact, the “traditional” ANC vote is the two thirds majority which has never escaped black leadership, even in the context of current developments. The arrangement which the ANC currently has with the DA is not in the interest of national unity, it’s an arrangement which advances the interests of a minority represented by a party which seeks to sneak itself into the Union Buildings after demonstrating no material growth and gaining not much more than 20 percent of the vote. Despite having lost its majority, the ANC still got twice the amount of votes as the DA got, about three times the amount of votes the MK go and more than 4 times the amount of votes the EFF did; the ANC is very firmly positioned to dictate the terms of any partnership it seeks to enter into but in this instance, it appears as though the ANC has entered into an agreement which has been crafted by the DA and not the ANC itself, this is indicated through the DA’s ability to invoke a certain open ended clause in the so called GNU agreement, which renders the term “unity” expendable by limiting the ANCs prerogative to invite additional members into what is increasingly looking less cooperative and more supervisory. Fikile Mbalula should account to branches of the ANC on how we find ourselves in a grossly undermined position, owing to his dereliction.
