I went to theaters with my parents to see Tarzan when I was six years old. When Sabor snatched the baby gorilla, I got so upset that I wanted to go home. But mom and dad convinced me to stick it out, and for the longest time, whenever I watched the movie on VHS, I would look away from all the scenes with Sabor except for the scene when Tarzan fought and killed him. Thus, Tarzan became my childhood hero. ❤
19:13 Wow, I never noticed the shadow on the tree of Clayton's body. That is creepy, especially in a kid's movie. Pretty dark stuff that you wouldn't notice until you were older.
Tarzan is my favourite Disney movie my mother and I always did the hand to hand thing when I was a kid it holds a special place in my heart a story about a mother and son

The design of the big cat is a jaguar, however since the movie takes place in Africa they probably intended to portray a leopard, since there aren't any jaguars in Africa.
this is an amazingly well done movie. i definitely trust your taste now. "you'll be in my heart" is definitely an original song for the movie. you definitely CAN die from falling into water from a great height. BUT, it's never as hard as hitting concrete though that was the myth. definitely.

To answer your question about water, I believe the height a person can jump from before the impact would be like that of hitting a concrete wall is at about 200 ft.
I love this movie so much it's my top favorite Disney movie I really wish they made a sequel to this and I wish this movie to be a live action remake with Jason Momoa as Tarzan and Daisy Ridley as Jane it would be so cool.
Idk about Jason Momoa as Tarzan, but I can kind of see Daisy Ridley as Jane, or maybe Emilia Clarke. I’m also thinking Ralph Fiennes as Clayton, Wallace Shawn as Tantor, and JK Simmons as Kerchack. Also, if Disney ever does a live action Tarzan, it *has* to be from the same director and cgi artists/animators that did the Jungle Book and Lion King remakes, mainly for the technology and visuals.
@@joedesena5402 I can totally see Jason Momoa as Tarzan he just looks the part he has the long hair and the physique and he can pull of the savagery and Daisy Ridley just looks the part as well if they did it with Emelia Clarke it would be so obvious because both Jason and Emelia were from Game of Thrones.
You people seem to forget that Tarzan in the movie is suppose to be 20 in the movie. So maybe an actor/actress for Tarzan and Jane should be about 20 - 25.
You joked about (what if) Tarzan was basically dumped by Jane when they got to London....read the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs; ultimately, they got married and went through several adventures together. Surprisingly, there are more than a few scenes in this movie taken straight from the novels.
I have to say that this is the best Disney film ever! Also, the songs are absolutely gorgeous translated to Bulgarian. They have a different voice and some of the lyrics are different as well. For example, the chorus of "Two worlds, one family" is translated this way: Open your eyes to discover one different world Believe, and this time around fate will decide It's one of the few films that make me cry. (when Tarzan and Kala say farewell)
I believe they didn't keep his chest wound from Sabor as a way to sensor the blood since so far they'd shown a lot of it if you count the blood in the tree house. Probably to keep it's rating.
Loved your commentary I really enjoyed your reaction as well as you lips singing along to the songs and the lines of the characters. That’s exactly what I do sometimes when watching movies that I love.

There is a disney theory that Jane is Bells great great granddaughter or something along those lines. Which is why she not only has the dress but also the teapot set. There are other clues that point to it as well.
Frozen and Tarzan seem like they’re in two different eras in time. And from what I understand of the Tarzan story, his parents are Brits, maybe they are descendants or grandchildren of either Elsa or Anna but not so close a kin. I think there is a theory that Jane is descended from Belle and Beast, family probably fled to England during the French Revolution.
The theory goes, by the Director, Chris Buck, that Elsa & Anna’s Parents boat crashed, leaving them stranded in a jungle where they build a treehouse & get killed by a leopard. Obviously a nod to Tarzan. This sparked a very quick expansion by fans. Janes style, the yellow dress, is very reminiscent of Belle. That combined with the very Mrs. Potts-esque Tea Pot led to that idea. And then the fact that Rapunzel & Eugene made a cameo at the end of Frozen, exactly three years after Tangled’s release, when Elsa & Anna’s Parents ship disappeared three years before. Presumably on the way to meet the recently re-discovered lost Princess Rapunzel, who because of a family resemblance, was theorized to be a cousin of Elsa & Anna. Making the King & Queens fear of magic make sense when you consider their niece being kidnapped for hers. Plus the Stabbington brothers bare a resemblance to Hans, so they could be 2 of his 12 brothers. And then Ariel gets tied in because of the similarities between the wrecked ships. Ariel’s a cousin of Hercules technically, based on mythology. And then Hercules had a literal crossover with Aladdin in the Hercules TV Series. Add all that up, plus Disney actually had Serena Valentino write a bunch of novels called the A Tale Of... Series that connects Snow Whites Father as the cousin of the Enchantress in Beauty & rhe Beast, Circe. And introduces another Princess named Tullip Morningstar, who’s the cousin of Aurora. So it’s not a huge leap to speculate. And Tarzan deviated from the novels, Tarzans raised by Mangani, not Gorillas, Jane & her father are actually American. The original idea was that Tarzan would have a British accent while speaking ape, but switch to American while speaking to the Porters. But they had to scrap it because the actor couldn’t do it. Anyways, Frozen didn’t have to throw it out the window in the second one. It’s a world of magic right? The whole Aladdin & Hercules thing would’ve been different time periods but it was awesome to watch.
Just checked, the novel series also ties in Ursula, Maleficient, and Mother Gothel. It’s basically a very similar idea to the Maleficient film series. Giving the villains their own backstory but without re-writing or disregarding canon events in the animated movies.

I’d be interested in seeing your reaction to the live action movie, The Legend of Tarzan. Shows his return to his jungle home after living for years in London with Jane. Great Cast with Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan, Margot Robbie as Jane, and has Samuel L. Jackson as George Washington Williams an American emissary who returns with Tarzan to Africa. I know a lot of people don’t really care for this movie but the story and visuals are great even if the acting falls a little flat.
This movie is legit my only favorite Disney movie. I watched this movie until the dvd wore out. I watched in Spanish but the lyrics for the songs were translated and re watching it in English gives me a whole new feeling. It’s like watching a new movie again
Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel is the original source. long ago, he was once asked what he thought if his stories were animated, Burroughs' answer was, "As long as Disney does it..." In the novel Turk is a male, and is a rival of Tarzan's. At one point Turk kidnaps Jane and Tarzan had to track them through the jungle and rescue her. Tarzan was originally from England, and Jane was from America.
Nics&Nacs Oh wow thank you so much! I completely agree, I’m a film student and have been trying to find ways to improve my editing, especially since there isn’t much else to do in quarantine ahah.,” I feel like I’ve been learning so much about editing just through watching your and other youtubers videos🤩
I've been watching through loads of your videos and YOUR CHILDHOOD MOVIES are MY CHILDHOOD MOVIES! Charlie's Angels, Hercules, Tarzan! Every one of them quotable and singable to the letter. Love that we have the same taste.
if you jump from a certain height and don't land into the water correctly, its as if you are hitting concrete, because you are supposed to cut into the water with your feet. also, this is my favorite Disney movie, even though it is kinda disrespected by Disney itself because no one really want to acknowledge it.
Sooooo much nostalgia! We got a DVD player in our van growing up, and we would throw this on EVERY time we got in the car. Whether it was a 10 min. drive or an hour aha.
Wish they had added scars on his body though, in the books he almost gets his arm ripped off and has his chest and neck torn from a fight with a gorilla, would have been a cool Easter egg for the book fans.
Funny thing is that in the book Tarzans parents was made to leave their ship by sailors (and they've killed captain as well). And Tarzans mother lost her sanity after one of the gorillas attacked her (actually, Tarzans tribe wasn't normal gorillas, they were differect species). Oh, and I forgot that Kerchak was really cruel to Tarzan. Boy was grown feeling himself as an freak and also was needed to survive everyday. Actually, his life changed mostly after he found the knife. With his "claw" he was able to kill animals and especially gorillas that want him to be dead (in the end he killed Kerchak to be the chief).
I never noticed. The scar from the Sabor fight is made, disappears for a bit, returns when he's hiding in the tree briefly, and then it disappears again. I thought it just disappeared after it was made
Thank you thank you thank you so much for doing this video!! I really needed to lift my spirits up and you and Tarzan made my day so much!! Also, I definitely enjoy all the lip syncing and all the references and quotes so I’ll be watching your videos for the longest time!! I totally agree with you!! This film has one of the best soundtracks and score!! I personally love all the songs from Coco even if it’s a Pixar film
with animals being sentient in this movie, do you ever think about how disney straight up showed the hero KILL someone and then show off the corpse? even if sabor didnt have any spoken lines, thats still pretty dark for disney
You know, it never occurred to me at all when I saw this movie many times before as a kid until I read somewhere that they're bothered by Tarzan not speaking in a British accent because Jane taught him English.
One of my favorite films when I was a kid. I watched this again for the first time again last year and balled at the beginning because how nostalgic it was.
Fun fact about the Wilhelm scream! The person who actually screamed it was in Distant Drums in 1951. But the movie that made the scream blow up was when they re-used the sound in Charge at the Feather River in 1953. The cowboy character named Wilhelm became famous for the scream even though he wasn't the one screaming. "are you sure this water is sanatary?, It looks questionable to me" bahahaha so cute. You did a goofy movie? I'm going to watch that then, I loved that movie when I was young.
It was actually Disney policy not to show wounds, especially bloody wounds, for more than one shot. Once you know this, you'll see the "disappearing wound" pop up in a lot of other Disney movies (Beauty & The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Hercules, Aladdin). So it was actually company policy to have that kind of continuity error rather than risk a PG rating.
The only two to break this rule - The Black Cauldron and Atlantis: The Lost Empire - both got slapped with a PG! Also, while I'm here: I love your channel and your reactions! You're so insightful and really know your stuff.
My favorite version of Tarzan is the 80's film called Greystoke. It's not a kids film, it is downright bloody and dark and probably the most serious take on Burroughs original source material. It flopped in theaters but I was able to see it on tv when I was 13. Also, everybody has their favorite version. The Disney animated one and the one with Skarsgaard are only the most recent.
Strangers like me is totally my favorite song in the movie. I also feel like this movie is underrated as I don’t know many people who really watched it as a kid.
I'm 27 years and i saw this movie at 10 for first time and it will be ALWAYS IN MY HEART 😢 When tarzan beats sabor and he screams i always cry like bitch
Tarzan has such a special place in my heart too! God, now I just want to go to my parents' house and watch it and sob; I teared up like 3 times just watching this!
Are you aware that Disney verified that the husband/wife in Tarzan are also the parents of Elsa/Anna from Frozen who were lost at sea? I know I was shocked to hear that.
As a kid, I was OBSESSED with the Trash in the Camp song. Both the one in the movie, and the version with Phil Collins and N'Sync. I don't know how I didn't destroy that VHS with the all the FF and RW lol. It also sparked the Phil Collins phase my lil 9 yr old self went through, and is one of the reasons I say N'Sync over BSB. A1 harmonies. Acapella flexing for days!! 😋😋😋
Tarzan couldn’t form 30 words and still got with Jane, keep hope alive everyone💪🏽
It doesn't hurt that he's attractive. Ever notice how attractive people have a lotta people go to them while doing the bare minimum.

Yeah but he’s ripped and has an insane jawline so it doesn’t matter
I was gonna make a joke about looks but two comments beat me too it.

When I was a child, I thought Phil Collins was german, since he did the soundtrack in multiple languages. Awesome.
20 years old and Kerjack dying still makes the river flow 😭😭😭
I love all the Disney reactions you’ve been doing! The reactions you’ve done on your channel has inspired me to create one of my own🥺💖
Yassss! Just watched your Emperor’s New Groove video and subscribed. Was amazing! ❤️
Nics&Nacs Ohmygosh you’re kidding😭💙 thank you so so much that means so much to me
Loved your editing. I’m always trying to improve my skills and make my videos better ☺️
3:46 yes this was nominated for best original song, BUT you know what, he actually went and won that Academy Award
Did you ever notice at the end the shadow of the hang body? Where you can clearly see the dead body?
Once you see it... You can never not see it
You do the most wonderful things with your mouth in how you talk and enunciate - so well-spoken and clear. And an accent on top of that!
Trash'n the camp was one of my all time favorites, and they actually did a junk band for the music
Sooooo much nostalgia! We got a DVD player in our van growing up, and we would throw this on EVERY time we got in the car. Whether it was a 10 min. drive or an hour aha.
*gasp*
you MUST watch Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas !
I thought it just disappeared after it was made
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced '(will)helm' . Great classic scream anyone can and should recognise when they hear it
You look like Saoirse Ronan! :) love your commentary, girl!
In the original novel, Kerchak kills Tarzan’s parents. And he is violent against Tarzan who kills Kerchak to become the leader of the apes.
Tarzan is my go to Disney movie. It calms me down. Looking at the graphics and animation while listening to the soundtrack is so therapeutic.
So much nostalgia ❤️
Fun fact about the Wilhelm scream! The person who actually screamed it was in Distant Drums in 1951. But the movie that made the scream blow up was when they re-used the sound in Charge at the Feather River in 1953. The cowboy character named Wilhelm became famous for the scream even though he wasn't the one screaming.
This is the original scream: www.google.com/search?q=wilhelm+scream+original&safe=strict&client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=ALeKk03e0FIp99JnNtP7iar8AMRGoDyDFw:1597817625836&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjvuYPAzqbrAhW0oekKHXQ-DPMQ_AUoAXoECA0QAw&biw=720&bih=720

This movie is so underrated. Jane is my spirit animal.
Frozen and tarzan are in same universe. Parents survived dark sea in frozen 2 and eventually end up in Africa which is right above north sea
"are you sure this water is sanatary?, It looks questionable to me" bahahaha so cute.
You did a goofy movie? I'm going to watch that then, I loved that movie when I was young.
Prepare for a lot of singing in A Goofy Movie too 😂
@@nicsandnacs 😂 that's ok cause everything in that movie is classic 90's. "Cheddda awhooo" 🤣
Your zebra pillow gives me MAJOR ANXIETY.
In the original books, Kerchak killed Tarzan’s parents and was more of a villain. I’m glad they changed it here, and his death was actually sad.
Saw Phil Collins last summer in concert here in Sweden! Was amazing! Sadly I don’t think he will come back but I’m so happy I got to see him!
When you said you were a fan. I still wasn't prepared for how you reacted 😂👏🏼. Sis full on quoted lines.
My brothers never wanted to watch movies with me because I wouldn’t stop quoting 😂
Cheetahs don't live in the jungle they mostly inhabit the plains of Africa so it was probably a leopard
Brian Blessed (Clayton) had to do Tarzan's signature yell since Tony Goldwyn (Tarzan) couldn't provide a satisfactory yell.
Strangers like me is totally my favorite song in the movie. I also feel like this movie is underrated as I don’t know many people who really watched it as a kid.
There are so many Disney classics but Tarzan is totally not mentioned enough 😔
Nics&Nacs oh I know. I usually get that look of “I think I’ve seen it but I’m gonna say no” look.
Tarzan is such an underrated CLASSIC it’s not even funny this movie deserves praise.
More love for Tarzan! ❤️
Nics&Nacs PLEASE! Lol
If you think this is dark, you should read the original novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Wait, what?! What happened in the story? :0
@@azulhernandez4738 Kerchak killed Tarzan’s parents.
I'm 27 years and i saw this movie at 10 for first time and it will be ALWAYS IN MY HEART 😢
When tarzan beats sabor and he screams i always cry like bitch
5:42 "No, she’s right, they’re native to South America." That’s the guy who voices the doctor in SpongeBob SquarePants.
5:14
Yes. This is true. If you drop from too high a height, the water is like concrete.
Tarzan has such a special place in my heart too! God, now I just want to go to my parents' house and watch it and sob; I teared up like 3 times just watching this!
Tarzan just gets better and better when you rewatch it
Agree!
