Good review, but I'm wondering, would the Black & Red notebook fit in the front cover? Then you could use the elastic on the back of the notebook to close it to the front cover.

That was a good idea and I tried it, but the Black & Red notebook was too tall to fit in the front pocket.

Would the a5+ dingbats journal fit in it or since it's larger than a5 would it be too big

Notebooks with thick, hardcovers don't fit well. This cover is better suited to hold soft cover notebooks and tablets.

I agree. I wish the cover was just a little wider so that it protected whatever you put in the pen loop.
