It would be great to see a video on ceramic bearings, its uses, maintenance, lubrication, advantages and disadvantages. Thanks for the great videos! Made me a client of the store.
Can you comment on how to (if possible) R&R the entire boa assembly on Shimano SPhyre shoes. The dial housing seems to be separating from the base and the entire boa assembly needs to be replaced.
Arts Cyclery I have a 52/36 setup on my bike, and want to put a 53T ring on it. Is it safe to do so or will I need to change the little ring as well? I have Shimano 11 speed 11-25 and a chain with 108 links.
Hi, My Boa system is broken. The part stitched to my Bontrager XXX shoes, not the replaceable part. BOA sent me the new parts but my shoe maker doesn't know how to stitch them to the shoe. He offered me to glue them, but I don't know if that's strong enough. I can send you a google drive link to an image to explain. But do you know if glueing them would be a strong enough connection? Or do you know how to stitch them again?
If the broken part of your BOA is currently stitched on I wouldn't opt for gluing (gluing could void your warranty on the shoes). I'd suggest contacting your local Trek/Bontrager dealer for details on how to properly replace the part.
This video only covers this one type of BOA closure. Specialized and other brands use very different BOA dials, so you'll need to look for other videos to help you with their proper replacement.
What happens if the part that is attached to the shoe is partially damage ,specifically it's not totally round anymore . it pushed in some from a Accident. Ouch ouch ouch!

Nice, thank you!
What if I broke this plastic part with the screw? It is possible to totally replace the part, that tailored to my shoe? 🤔
what if the dial housing is broken? can i replace it?
Great and educational clip! Do you have a similar video or know if it is possible to repair the BOA system on a pair of Sidi Ergo 3 road shoes?

i mean is the inside of the dial housing which where you screw the boa dials
This is amazing! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
is it possible to retrofit a boa system to a different lace system e.g sidi or vittoria ssp rotor ??
Surely possible, but we don't have any direct experience swapping retention systems between brands.

+bikephil Actually to me if I can remove them without damage the component other than cable I can replace them.
Educational.
Brilliant clip, there's zero chance I could have figured that out on my own.
Happy to help!
Oh man... I sort of regret buying expensive ass shoes now that i see the work that has to be put in to replace the BOA-system, haha!

Time for a new seat.
@@artscyclery875 You mean a new shoe.....same thing in my case. The cog teeth on the shoe were damaged so no replaceable parts that I can tell.
