I'm going to try to understand (7:00-8:00) What is an Evangelical? (10:00-11:30) It is interesting
    to hear Dr. Mouw's perspective.

An interesting idea to have civil discussion about our differing beliefs. I support it. My favorite friend to have discussion with is a very intelligent man who is atheist. His opinions of logic and science challenge my beliefs and help me to understand why I believe.
It's too bad that this healthy debate is sullied by emotionally and intellectually immature internet haters that want only to destroy, all the while claiming the devil is in the opposition. The hate and destruction is from God?

I am a latter day saint meaning from the church of Jesus Christ and I shared my testimony with all my being that the Nick ed named Mormon church is the restaured church of Christ , the same that existed and is in the new testament

Every cult claims to restore something. Muhammad made the same claims in the Quran. Nothing new here. Mormonism did not exist until 1830 and only suckers buy it.

@@apologiamixer Early Christians were referred to as a Jewish cult. So yes, these cultist categorizations are not new

Walter Marting had a great thing going: create a personal cult by calling others cultists.

We see a similar thing with the term "racist" these days.

Interesting how Richard Mouw asks for a couple minutes to explain how he became interested in this subject and then goes on a long peroration misdefining Mormonism before the Mormon even opens his mouth.

He keeps saying "Mormon church " let me correct you. The actual name is: The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. Amos 3:7.

No need for the correction. Dr. Mouw knows this (as does anyone with any knowledge of your Faith Tradition) and clearly means no disrespect. He simply finds a three word reference makes for easier conversation than a nine word one. Taking offense to this is like my objecting to being called Dave instead of by my full name. This was also before your current President made his recent pronouncement.

Mormon was a prophet that lived on this side of the world. Geniuse 10 25 the earth was divided. God had prophet's on this side of the world. Like Mormon Alma Nephi Abenidi Mosiah and meney others were also true prophets of God. I have never read anywhere in the holy bible where Christ Himself did any writing except for in the sand. So who wrote the holy bible true prophets of God. Ever since this spinning blue planet was created anytime we as real children have wanted to grow up and become more like our Heavenly parents God has always called true living prophets of God..I known that Joseph Smith was a real man and a true prophet of God. It is not Mormonism it is the church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. I would teach my two year different than I did my twenty year old. I love change and growth and becoming. The essence of life is growth and to become and to overcome. That baby can grow up and become an adult. We can grow up and become like our Heavenly Father. For truley the essence of life is growth and to become and to overcome.

What a sad state of affairs. The early disciples cast demons out of people and called false teachers liars and a brood of vipers. But now Christian leaders have dialogue with the devil and his followers over coffee. The demons came out crying with a loud voice but now when they begin to cry we apologize for being unloving.

apologiamixer you are wrong. Mormons don't drink coffee. Get your facts straight. ;-)

Walter Martin hit the nail squarely on the head. Mouw can't even hit the board.
