@@BrendonWagner had a similar AC issue on my atlas. turned out to be a faulty ac compressor straight from the factory. you may wanna bring your alltrack to a dealership to have it checked out just to be sure.
Yours is a far more appealing color. I bought white to beat the heat and that really helped. It also helps us that neither of ours have a sunroof, as far as trying to keep the car cool.
For sure, I enjoy the white in certain builds but the graphite grey is a top 3 color personally, im glad I found this spec. Only thing about this color is that it still brings in a lot of heat and dirt shows really easily on it.
Great build! I really wanted this color with the brown interior, but I settled for white with the brown interior and six speed manual. Now that I swapped over to an IS38 I’m kind of wishing I went with the DSG because it would be a little bit quicker even though I plan on lifting it and going for a rally look instead.
You mentioned am upcoming cost that was going to be pricey, you're around 40kmi...don't forget these engines need the intake valves carbon cleaned at some point (walnut blasting is the best way ) and it's not cheap...it's not just VW pretty much ALL direct Injection engines need to have it done no matter the make or model it's the Achilles Heel of DI engines. Somewhere around 50kmi for VW's. A lot of people install oil catch cans but there's mixed views on how well they work, the best they can do is prolong the carbon cleaning not eliminate it.
I am surprised how low that mileages for someone who loves the car so much. That first year really save you a lot of miles. I have the same year Alltrack and I’m just below 28,000 miles. Similar costs, however its starting to consume a little of the coolant for some reason. I’ve been having to top it off.
I only put 700 miles on for the first 6 months of ownership because I had my permit when we bought it and Covid hit to my license test was delayed. Also being in school helped a bit because I only live 3 miles from it and I didn’t have much time to drive around. As for coolant, I remember my moms mk7 tdi had a similar issue but I think it’s sorta normal for this platform. I’d look out for your water pump because I’ve heard of them going out as low as 30k miles
Hi there ! I have the same car as daily and it s perfect! Can you give us the specs about your wheel ? size ? tyres size ? That Swapped Golf with the Rs3 engine must be a machine !
Do you think those wild peaks can handle New England winters? I just moved to the Boston area and will soon start shopping for an alltrack. I want to do a similar setups as I’m going for sort of a safari build to tackle these terrible roads lol.
Bostons roads are something else for sure, I haven’t had a winter on the Wildpeaks but the tread seems similar to winter tires, and I think I’ve heard decent stuff about them in the FB group. I might run them for a snow storm to see how they do, but I don’t have any first hard experience with them so far.
Dude, stop beating yourself up for feeding your hobby. It's your interest and keep your head happy. I am a jeep guy..dont get me started. Got a 2007 jk..and the dollars keep ticking. However, got your same VW All Track set up and yup new wheels and tires..but it gets us to where we want to go with a smile..👍👍
You’re right, it sucks that it costs a lot but in the end I don’t regret it, it’s a fun pastime and keeps people happy. My friend used to have a JK and it was really cool, what’s your build like?
i just bought a 2018, I thought the AC was exceptional here in QLD Australia on a 35 degree hot day. It was better than any other car we test drove.
I live in Queensland in Australia. We have hot humid summers and the air conditioning in my Alltrack is icy cold.
Interesting, I’ve heard it’s coded differently in hot climates so I’ll have to look into that
@@BrendonWagner Got mine here in the US on the West Coast, 2019 Alltrack. AC is icy cold as well.
@@rve3716 mine seems to be doing better now, maybe the sun just made it feel hotter than it was, the tints definitely made a difference

@@rve3716 It's been better so it might not be that, but I might check just in case, thanks!

Love my Alltrack. It has done about 85,000 kms. Just wish I could put a Golf R engine in it haha
Hahaha don't we all. They're awesome cars, I love mine as well!
change engine oil every 5000-6000 miles or 250 motor hours and this car gonna give you tough reliable
For sure!
You went to the dealership to change the wheels???

There is a water pump recall that causes coolant to leak. Take it to your dealer, mine was replaced
The wheels look really good on this car.
Thanks! I love the look of them too
I have no issue with my AC, 2017 😅
