In November of 2016 I played it for the first time because it was on my backlog and I loved it. A bit unfortunate though that so soon after I played it this version comes out... But still cool that they are adding new stuff. If I replay the game in a few years I definitely keep this in mind!
I picked up the original after seeing someone LP the game, have been singing it's praises for years, and fully plan to get Perfect Chronology once it is releases in English.
So if I'm not mistaken, that's a port with new content? Seriously hoping that it'll reach Europe, as the original never did and the region-locking on the 3DS is awful.
I DID play the original release. That being said, chances are the 3DS version will be the best one, as it's one changed design on the negative side vs whatever they decide to add to it on the positive side. Atlus already showed with the 3DS ports of the Devil Survivor games that they know how to improve a game even further.
U can play it on the 3ds i Play it on my EU/3ds. DS games have no Regionlock exept for some only Dsi Games. Buy it on the internet from US i got it pretty cheap 20something euros. Just an Awesome game one of the best RPG`s ever made imo. Awesome timetravel combat HISTORY(IA) and the ols artstyle was pretty awesome, i do not like the newer one.
I'm super-excited about this! I would be so, so, so happy if the brought in Yoko Shimomura to remaster some of the music from the original. Of course, the soundtrack for the original is good enough that I'm fine either way; everything from the original was good enough that I'm going to be fine either way. I'm almost certainly going to buy the game again, regardless of what they do to it XD. I actually do like what we saw of the new cutscenes a lot - I have mixed feelings about the artwork that goes with the text dialogue, though. I wonder what the odds are that they'd let you reuse the old art? Probably pretty slim, I guess. I guess the only big question is how much new content there will be, and of what quality it will be.

Funny how this video is a Japanese video and yet, all the comments I am seeing are from non-Japanese audience (goes to show how much interest people have in this game from outside japan than Japanese people themselves). This game better be localized for the west if it wants to succeed sales-wise IMO.
I feel like this game never called for a remake. The original game was a great, underrated gem with this dark atmosphere and the sense that any wrong decision can lead to a disastrous history. It felt less like a standard JRPG with the usual character tropes, and more like a game that tried to do something different. A clash between two mighty nations and a world that is slowly turning into sand. Only one timeline out of many can save the world, and it requires so much trial and error to find it. I see very little of that in this trailer. Why an out-of-place J-Pop song? Why the generic character redesigns and an anime intro that looks like every generic anime intro in existence? Why does Princess Eruca no longer has her short, curly hair that made her original appearance so unique? I'm glad that Atlus is acknowledging that the original game has a decent cult following, but something just feels "off" about this remake.
Yeah man i totaly with u. i love this game so much for what it is its just perfect in itself ALREADY the Histor(ia) was so good the combat was unique and every character was awesome in combat to find the combos with other characters to make the best overkills was awesome. Beat the secret boss too such an awesome fight.
The new art is not bad, but it simply does not capture the tone of the game as good as the old one, both are fine, but the original fits the bill better. I hope this game finds success, so it can pave the way for a true sequel.
Eruca barely looks like herself. I thought it was a totally different character at first. Really wish they didn't change that, though I don't mind the new artstyle overall. But the REAL question is: Is Viola finally playable in this new scenario?

I'll play Dragon quest on Switch. don't know enough about ever oasis and never even heard of snack world. and sadly, im completely burned from fire emblem after fates. Every Oasis is made by Grezzo is a Japanese video game developer. It was founded in December 2006. Koichi Ishii, known for his work on the Mana series of games by Square Enix, was hired as CEO and president of the company in April 2007, I agree FE Birthright felt like a filler that when I began playing conquest it was so boring to me already, hey try FE Heroes it is fun and I still playing it, I open 2 accounts since I did not get Azura and Tharja and still haven't gotten'em but it is fun
Apparently there will be DLC to get the old character art back (the limited edition version comes with it). As for the J-Pop, hopefully it will be limited to an opening cut scene or something.
The first song in the trailer? It's the actual ending theme of Radiant Historia. You may not like it, but as evidenced in the trailer, you'll get to hear it at least once during the credits.
On a side note, -HISTORIA- is the least memorable song in the OST. It's like people never remembering the main theme of Symphony of the Night is actually "I AM THE WIND, I AM THE SUN!" such a corny song.

Along with many companies, ATLUS also doesn't have the best track record for this, so when news of it gets out people hoping for a worldwide release will flock to it like in this case.
The 3DS is the least expensive console to develop for in all aspects with a a good playerbase worldwide, a lot of Japanese companies are still going to develop games for it for ~3 Years, I wouldn't sell your 3DS so quickly.

*PROTEIN* *WAFFLES* FF XIII-2s story was excellent, its just bolted pointlessly onto XIIIs plot, and for some reason acts like Serah should be the protagonist instead of Noel despite the fact shes barely got any reason to be involved in it, which resulted in terrible storytelling for most the first half.

Ugh... shameless pandering again. Glad I stopped caring about anime after the 90's. You can't top something like Cowboy Beebop and the original Radiant Historia is already a sorta hard to find game and with this coming out prices will probably go even higher.
I really don't like the new portrait artwork or how they have given Eruca long hair. I hope there is an option to use the original art. If the new timeline/content doesn't turn out to be significant I will just stick with the original DS game.
Fucking hell, they downgraded the unique artstyle to generic moeism that appeals to weebs. ...I prefer it. I guess I'm one of those weebs. Eruca's neck was tiny in the original artwork. I also like that each character has multiple portraits. Seeing Stocke perpetually staring and smiling like a horse without regard to the situation was tiring after a while. I also have no problem with Eruca no longer looking tomboyish. If she still acts like a tomboy, it will help in deconstructing stereotypes that girly looks have.
So, they added bad j-pop, a waifu and made the character art shitty? This is the equivalent of remaking the Shawshank Redemption with youtubers as the main cast to appeal to a wider audience. Just leave the game alone, it was perfect as-is, and I really liked that it was probably the last JRPG to not shove dumb anime bullshit in my face the whole time. It was just a legitimate story attached to a great game and a unique aesthetic. This is a cashgrab.

They will never translate there games other than english, because they do not have the stuff for this, especially not in europe at all. I dont think that Atlus USA will hire new teams for translations in NA for European languages.
The original art style was so unique, why change to something worse? This new art style is so generic and represents everything that is wrong with modern anime and japanese games. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to change the character design needs to be fired.

Ugh... shameless pandering again. Glad I stopped caring about anime after the 90's. You can't top something like Cowboy Beebop and the original Radiant Historia is already a sorta hard to find game and with this coming out prices will probably go even higher.

I really don't like the new portrait artwork or how they have given Eruca long hair. I hope there is an option to use the original art. If the new timeline/content doesn't turn out to be significant I will just stick with the original DS game.
Fucking hell, they downgraded the unique artstyle to generic moeism that appeals to weebs.
...I prefer it. I guess I'm one of those weebs. Eruca's neck was tiny in the original artwork. I also like that each character has multiple portraits. Seeing Stocke perpetually staring and smiling like a horse without regard to the situation was tiring after a while.
I also have no problem with Eruca no longer looking tomboyish. If she still acts like a tomboy, it will help in deconstructing stereotypes that girly looks have.
So, they added bad j-pop, a waifu and made the character art shitty? This is the equivalent of remaking the Shawshank Redemption with youtubers as the main cast to appeal to a wider audience. Just leave the game alone, it was perfect as-is, and I really liked that it was probably the last JRPG to not shove dumb anime bullshit in my face the whole time. It was just a legitimate story attached to a great game and a unique aesthetic. This is a cashgrab.

They will never translate there games other than english, because they do not have the stuff for this, especially not in europe at all. I dont think that Atlus USA will hire new teams for translations in NA for European languages.
The original art style was so unique, why change to something worse? This new art style is so generic and represents everything that is wrong with modern anime and japanese games.
Whoever thought it would be a good idea to change the character design needs to be fired.
