I grew up riding my Giant hard tail all over north county as a kid. Now as an adult living in SD, I've been getting into mountain biking and your channel is invaluable! Please keep making these videos!
@@scozzy4656 thanks my friend. Stay tuned, more SD trails coming. Plus tomorrow I’ll be heading up to YT Mill in San Clemente… So where have you been riding lately?
@@bikeempowerment awesome, definitely will stay tuned! I’ve been going to Sweetwater reservoir area and riding the tiki hut loop and other surrounding trails so far. It’s close to my place but I do want to branch out to somewhere new soon. Any suggestions for somewhere close by?
@@scozzy4656 I don’t get down south much. Only rode Sweetwater once. Los Penasquitos/Tunnels is always a good one. You can try Mission Trails too since it’s closer to you. If you do Mission Trails make sure to hit up E-ticket. Also check my Mission Trails video, I feel that I hit up the better stuff in it.
This whole area has a lot of official/unofficial trails across a variety of different riding styles disciplines. I’m still finding new ways to stitch all the trails together! If you’re ever curious you’re more than welcome to hop in one of the local rides. It’s very well known for being rocky and loose for most of the year. The chunk is plenty challenging. It takes time to master but often helps further our skills. A few of the local DH racers love NASCAR, but it’s a lot for sure. And it sure does get hot midday! Same goes for anyone else that has questions. Just reach out ✌️
@@bikeempowerment Absolutely. And there’s plenty more in the area besides just the La Costa system. And everything is pretty closely connected. It’s a pretty good mix of trails.
@@NewbGamingNetworks Yup. It seamed like there was more to explore. I’ll have to get back up there, any trail names you can recommend other than the stuff in the main area? Here’s what I did the other day. strava.app.link/qnJhzjicwNb
Tyvm for the footage. Not my favorite kind of trail. But I'm glad it's there for those that love it, and the jumps. Sorry to hear about the hub failure. ☮️
🙏 Not my favorite either, but glad I went. Keep up on the rock skills 😛 I’ll go back probably with in the next year. Actually riding it made me appreciate Tunnels more. Have you ever ridden up in San Clemente? I’ve been looking to get up there.
This is a white knuckled descent in real life, I was praying for my life the entire way. He made it look easy and the camera is a total liar, its much steeper than it looks. On a windy day it feels like I'm riding down Mnt Everest. This trial confirmed that I'm a blue rider.
Yeah, this trail is no joke. Funny thing with these explanation rides that I’ve been doing lately, I get home and check Trailforks and say to myself “oohhh, that was a black diamond”
I didn’t even think about checking before I got there. I saw an old looking sign that said no E-bikes that I figured was outdated. I ask a group that guys that just ended their ride (one on an E-bike) about it. They said “Half the people out here ride e-bikes…” I was hoping to see a ranger to ask if Class 1 ebikes are allocated. I just checked Trailforks, they don’t have e-bikes listed. So I’ll probably not do it again unless I hear they are allowed. Or do it on my Rocky Mountain analog…
😎 Thanks for commenting. Makes me feel better. My bike is in the shop due to the rear hub failure, while it is in there, I’m getting the suspension serviced. I bought that bike used and it has 1500 miles on it now and I don’t think the suspension has ever been touched. I’m thinking that’s one of the reasons why I was getting beat up so bad.
Ebikes are NOT allowed on that hill or any of those trails. If you come across a ranger you will be ticketed and fined. You'll see them out there of course, but they technically aren't allowed and I always try to give people a heads up. Not worth the risk.
@@bikeempowerment Yep, grew up riding that hill, still ride it when i can! Its fun, but unfortunately has gotten so much traffic over the last 10 years and not been maintained it has gotten a lot worse...
@ yeah, I don’t remember it being that rocky 10 years ago. I do remember there was metal mesh in the turns, only noticed the remnants once surprisingly.

@@bikeempowerment Grizzly NASCAR and horned lizard are the best ones. Been at sage mountain more often recently though

I went down Grizzly, you don’t want to fall on those rocks, you wouldn’t have any skin left.

SMBA lists it as no ebikes too, as well as the signs. One of the few areas that restricts them. It's a bummer, would be a great emtb system.
