- Upon studying the map, we embarked on a leisurely drive to Sirheni Bushveld Camp, filled with excitement about visiting this camp for the first time. The journey itself was remarkable with fantastic wildlife sightings along the way. A pit stop at Babalala Picnic Site allowed us to savour a meal, enjoying the leftover sausage we had braaied the previous night. It was so good to see roan antelope and a reedbuck, adding a special touch to our wildlife encounters. Despite the scorching heat upon our arrival, the absence of air-conditioning in our cottage was offset by the beauty of the surroundings. The best way to celebrate your wedding anniversary, is a trip to the Kruger. You are so lucky with all the viewings of animals. Shame seeing them all standing under the trees just show how hot it is. Enjoy your time there.

Love to see the elephant standing trunk to trunk against the tree, maybe the poor guy had a headache, I get them from the heat. So nice to see a bird in the picture. Shocking to see how dry everything is. Gorgeous place you got to stay. That heat sounds kwaai without aircon. At least there were ceiling fans. Happy anniversary. Ours is on 3rd January. We had 18 years before he passed away. The earlymorning sunrise is so beautiful.

Happy anniversary! 🎉You brought back so many memories ❤: I lived in Sirheni bush Camp for about 2 years in the 90's. (I co-managed the camp and took out the game drives). The most beautiful & tranquil spot to stay in KNP. Back in the day there was water (dam) in front of the camp, but the damwall broke years later in a flood and they decided to keep as nature intended, thus not rebuilding the dam wall.

Hi guys another awesome video so many elephants love the one washing drinking in a dry water hole they are taking their chances with the crocs and hippos. When we were at Sirheni in 2007, there was water in the river, and we were woken up by elephants swimming next to our hut! That was an incredible experience. We wanted to get more sleep, but couldn't! It was too exciting.

Gefeliciteerd met jullie 28e huwelijksdag feest. Wat een geweldige manier om het te vieren samen met de wilde dieren, die massaal kwamen opdagen ondanks de hitte 🦓🐘🦒🦌☀️. Wonderlijk hoeveel verschillende dieren op 1 plek tezamen komen zonder zichtbare onderlinge onenigheden. Bovendien heerlijk dat er zo weinig toeristen waren, dan kun je extra genieten van de stilte en rustig stilstaan op de weg. Van mijn reisjes door Kruger staat mij bij dat er soms zoveel auto’s stil stonden op dezelfde plek dat de dieren bijna in slalom over moesten steken. Enfin goed om in je reactie te lezen dat de auto in orde bleef en je geen problemen had onderweg, dat kijkt een stuk relaxter. Al lijkt me mij toch wel spannend dat de loedshedding ook effect heeft op het (niet) kunnen tanken ….Want hoe weet je of de pomp die je te zijner tijd echt nodig hebt, op dat moment in werking is? Of heb je een loadshedding App of zoiets om zo’n situatie vooruit te plannen?
Hoe dan ook, als een van jullie inmiddels 23.000 volgers, blijf ik smullen van jullie avonturen. En tegelijkertijd van mijn 2 vrienden, die nu langs de oost kust reizen, deels in jullie sporen. Dus ik was vandaag zowel in Kruger als in Hluhluwi Park, lucky me 😃🦒🐘🦓🦛
I use a loadshedding app, but it happened once or twice or three times during our trip that the electricity failed because of other, unknown to us, reasons. One could land in serious trouble if one plans on filling up at a specific camp only to find that they have no electricity and loadshedding is not the reason. 😨⛽ I got into the habit of already checking if the pumps are on as we drove up to the filling stations and there were quite a few anxious moments, especially because our vehicle had a very small tank and we don't carry an extra supply of petrol with us. 🚙

You filmed two instances of roan antelope, that's amazing! They are incredibly rare in Kruger. Perhaps less than 200 in the park, last time I heard.

When you saw the buffalo and wildebeast and zebra did you notice the ground hornbill that came into picture behind from the tree.
We did! But only back home while I was editing on the big screen. 😁

Hier in die Kaap was daar vreeslike brande en ons het gehelp om water en eetgoed vir die brandweer manne uit te deel....
Daar was 'n baie sterk wind wat die vlamme oor die Simonstad deel na Sandy Bay,hier naby Houtbaai versprei het.
Dis gelukkig nou stil,maar dit is mos die brand-seisoen in die Kaap...
Ons hoop maar vir die beste!!

Hi. Thanks for all your videos. Sirheni looks remote, with very few visitors when you two toured there. Given the heat you endured, I suppose that's not surprising. My question is, did you have cellphones reception on your travels? I didn't hear any beeps and neither of you mentioned it. So what happens if, for instance, your vehicle breaks down? Please forgive my ignorance - I haven't travelled in such remote areas for many years.
Very interesting question and I'm so glad you asked. 🚙😁 Cellphone signal is spotty throughout the entire Park on all three networks. Should one get stuck with a flat tyre or a similar situation in an area with no reception, one basically has two choices: risk alighting from your vehicle and remedy the situation while keeping a close eye on one's surroundings or wait for another vehicle to pass, which very often doesn't happen. 😨 We were totally happy to take our chances though and fortunately all was well with ourselves and our vehicle.
