Absolutely brilliant video after watching this numerous times I think I have found the alternative game system to COC just wished I had found it earlier as I think I have missed out on the hardback rules Outstanding work Alex
Great report Alex. I have played this twice with different results. I think the pre game bombardment is key and I think the Germans were unfortunate in taking the full weight of the barrage in your game . I randomised the stonk areas in my solo version when the Germans were more successful and used the foxhole options for the sections to make them tougher to beat.
what a fabulous table... love the TFL rules,, interesting to see !ABSM played, im more used to seeing that system in sharp practice. - still plays well
Those casualties from the first stones. Look horrendous. In a Napoleonic battle, 10% casualties in the battle would seem to be the norm. Obviously some units would be lucky and others much less so. Although I have the rules I’ve never played a full game with them, and for 28mm and even 20mm the cost of a a small village is horrendous. Also I’ve used gaming Tim for WWII has been with CoC . I’ll watch this vid when I’ve carried out demands to cut the 2 lawns and re-planted the front border. Retirement a’int all it’s cracked up to be. I think I’ll buy a 6mm or a 10mm Army for IABSM, although ‘O’ Group seems better for 6mm and a village or farm would probably look better in smaller scale.
I notice you deploy your platoons as one. Towards the middle your platoon in the blind reveals itself but all in one area. Can you not deploy as sections as it would have given much better fire support from multiple positions rather than everyone firing through the trees from the house?
Yes, platoons move and deploy as one when on blinds, the game is about platoons, not individual sections and you may only deploy within 2" max of an area covered by a blind.

Cheers, yeah IABSM is a great set of rules. There's a few more IABSM videos on the rest of the channel. Check out the dedicated playlist.
Another fun one! I recently discovered "I Ain't Been COC'd Yet, Mum!". Did you ever try that out, Alex?
Cheers! Yeah, I know the CoC version but haven't tried it out yet!
Interesting to see the differences from CoC
I enjoyed the bat rep although I don’t know the game rules. Any O group coming soon?
There's a multipart how to play series for IABSM elsewhere on the channel, which goes through the rules. There's an O Group video coming next week.

Well, it's not just casualties from the Stonk, but also casualties from before the battle, that's how I see it.
