Yo, that sounds great. One of my fave VH tracks - love the way you engage the Mercury Flanger at the key moments. Thanks for getting involved in the Challenge!
Curious...have you ever A/B compared this to an actual MXR EVH pedal....I would love to hear one compared to the other. I was using a Mooer Swoosh pedal that A/B'd against an EVH was pretty dead nuts on...at a third of the size....half the price...and at 9v instead of 18. Alas..mine is an ENO...as such it died yesterday
I didn't want the expense, giant pedal, and one trick pony of the MXR. That's why I went with source audio. I spent a lot of time listening to several youtube demos of the MXR pedal with the EVH button depressed and tweaking this preset until I had it perfect. So I guess you can say I did A/B them, just not with the actual EVH pedal on my board. I have 3 presets saved on the flanger. A Pink Floyd Electric Mistress type flanger, EVH flanger, and rotary speaker preset configured to black hole sun sound. I just flip the switch to move between presets, no turning knobs. You can't really do an Electric Mistress and EVH jet plane type flange in the same pedal. They have hardware differences and you would need two analog pedals. One pedalboard space is all I can dedicate to flange. The rotary speaker helped sell me on it. Check my other videos for examples of those presets. Yes...yes....I am with you brother...worse than the expense is the damned real estate it takes up on the board....which is why I went with the eno Swoosh pedal....sounded great...TILL IT DIED!!! I have several source audio pedals...(Nemesis, EQ, Kingmaker) they are built like tanks. And mega flexible. I think I had tried the Lunar and couldnt seem to get as close as you seem to have with the Mercury (same pedal) The swoosh i have played back to back against an MXR EVH and it was pretty much dead nuts on. But I'll be damned if I'll buy another one. You would think that with what seems like 100 new drive pedals released each week that at least one of these BETTER QUALITY builders would aim their sites at giving MXR a little competition in this one very specialized area..the VH sound By the way...here is what my SWOOSH sounded like DAYS before it died. ua-cam.com/video/PstjTuxH25c/v-deo.html Question: since you posted this patch to the Neuro app...do you think there is any room left in the pedal to tweak out a bit more drama from the sweep or is that about it? I would be interested to see if there was a bit more room
P.S. I am sure that you know this already...but you can save MORE than three patches on the SA pedals....you can store SIX (Three on the user side/red light... and three to the factory side or green light)
To access either side of 3 simply switch off pedal and then depress the switch for a few moments till the light turns from green to red (didn't Jimi say that??? Haha! ...and with you I see a traffic jam...straight up ahead) You can also bench the pedal in the desktop editor and you can further tweak the pedal so that you can flip flop back and forth by depressing the switch for a much shorter time. Actually I think you can save well over a hundred patches to the pedal but you would then need a modified controller to access them. The boys from MIT know how to build a kockass pedal fo sho

I have the flanger coming any day now!! Cant wait!!! Incredible what this pedal can do!! I also have the Vertigo and its great too!! So much fun!!
My only gripe is you have to get the extra piece to use midi with it.

What are the dials set at for the EVH flange effect???
It's a preset saved into my pedal, so the knob positions are being ignored.
@@powdermnky007 ok thanks
