@@sKmeTG I was being “rich” enough to be on the plane for almost 20 years until I knew how to speak english, my parents are being “rich” enough to travel overseas and they don’t know how to speak english very well. Oh wait, a big chunk of my country populations who rich enough also don’t know how to speak english properly. And oh it took me until I studied abroad in the us to know that they use the word bathroom not toilet??? HOW DOES THAT HAPPENED RIGHT??? Languages require you to use it frequently but not every places use english that much in their daily basis my guy, that’s why she’s teaching
Exactly. Someone asks for the toilet, and that is the most objective and specific way you could ask for it, even though it isn't what native speakers use. It's clear what room the passenger wants help finding, even if the passenger didn't use the words the flight attendant had in mind.
Only place I could see asking "where are the toilets" could be misunderstood, is in a hardware store like Home Depot. The employee wouldn't know whether the customer wants the toilets for sale, or the already-installed toilets for customers to use. If I worked in a hardware store, I would instinctively think "where are the toilets?" would mean "where are the toilets for sale?", in contrast from "where is the bathroom?".
@@carultchand if you're on a plane there'll be people of all different nationalities aboard and for example in the UK, people say toilet all the time, it's only a bathroom if there's a bath or shower

Hi Kate, I am from India. I am lucky to watch your videos. Tq kate because of your videos I am improving my english skills. Your videos are more creative✨. It is very interesting to watch your videos. Your english fluency is nice. It is a easy way to learn english by watching your videos. ❤️
Thank you so much 💖 Kate ... Next month, I would be travelling by plane for the first time in my life.... These videos are really informative... Lots of love to you 😘
I don't think we don't usually call that a bathroom in the US. We either say toilet or restroom. So what the lady said initially is correct. The word bathroom is normally reserved for rooms with bathtubs or showers typically inside homes. But people mix it up all the time. Anything outside of your house in a public place can referred to as restroom, toilet or even bathroom. It's all interchangeable.😅
Kate: telling us how to speak english more fancy and telling us facts
