Wow, that lime green dress is gorgeous on you Helene! I love your reading vlogs, totally live for them every month and they're the first thing I click on when they come in my sub box! The Thousandth Floor (I think that was what it was called) sounds quite like High-Rise by J.G. Ballard!
Your monthly reading vlogs are my favorite!! I always look forward to seeing them. And I love the green dress you wore you looked so pretty!! :) Hope you have a great week. :)
Helene I enjoyed your monthly reading vlog. I got so excited when I came home from work and saw you had done one. I enjoy them very much and loved seeing Zeus. You certainly read a lot of interesting books this past month. And I agree with everyone else. You looked stunning in the green dress. Looking forward to your next blog.
I love these vlogs! Thank you for putting in all the work that they must take to make. Zeus is the cutest! The earrings that you were wearing when you were supposed to dress like a hippie looked great on you!
Just discovered your channel and I loved this video so so so much. How had I not found you before? Hooked. Also slightly in love with Zeus. I also really want to read No One Can Prounounce My Name. I organise my books by height as well.
Hi !! Helene it's always a pleasure to watch your reading vlogs ! the thousandth floor seems very tempting !! and have a gorgeous cover ... and maybe The patriots too ??By the way you look stunning in your green dress ;)
You're making me feel SO behind as you've talked about so many books I've been wanting to get to. Great to follow your reading progress. Isn't Rakesh's book cover so beautiful?! And you've really motivated me to read American War. Thanks!
Love your reading vlogs! America War is on my TBR list, glad to hear you like it. I am actually from Oklahoma but have never read The Grapes of Wrath and after your review I think I need to add that to my TBR list.
Definitely read "Grapes of Wrath"! Especially if you're from Oklahoma, which I think will add more to the story for you. I hope you'll like "American War" as well ;)
I recently dnf'd the whole together too it was really not working for me. I listened to American street which I think helped it but wasn't a lover if that either. Great vlog I love getting a look at what you are up to and seeing your beautiful house 😀
The Grapes of Wrath is one of my all time favorites along with Cannery Row. Steinbeck is such an amazing author. I'm going to read East of Eden soon which I've heard was his favorite. What do you teach? I teach English as a Second Language here in the states so I'm always excited to meet other teachers on BookTube.
These reading vlogs are lovely! I've meant to pick up American War, but never did, silly me. And Liz Moore is great, I really enjoed Heft as well. Steinbeck is too depressing for me to re-read at the moment :-)
Thank you, Britta! I also love how your videos remind me of books and authors I want to read... You still have time to pick up "American War" amongst all the other books you/we need to make time for ;)
What a lovely garden. You had a great reading month with some wonderful reads. Hope you will enjoy your summer vacation and I'm looking forward to hearing all about what you will read during July. I just finished "The Muse" by Jessie Burton. It took me a bit of time to get into but it was good. Have you read it?
Yes, I've read "The Muse" and liked it a lot! In my eyes, it was even better than the other popular book she has published (which I've forgotten the title of now :) ).
I have been a little disappointed with the YA books for a while now and hence not picking them anymore. People would rave about some YA book and I would pick it up only to dislike it :( I read Six of Crows last year as there were so many amazing reviews on Goodreads and I.....well did not find it that fantastic at all and did not even complete it:/ The Patriot is in my "to buy" list. And I saw "Dear Life" by Alice Munro on your bookshelf....that was the first book I read from Alice Munro and I have been a fan since then. Looking forward to more book reviews from you :) And yes.....you look so so so pretty in the green dress and I loved your top in that hippy outfit :))
Thank you for your lovely comment :) YA seems to disappoint me a lot, too! I hear great reviews - phenomenal reviews, actually - on booktube or on Goodreads which convince me to buy the book. And then it just ends up being mediocre compared to what I like to read in general. I guess you and I have just grown away from YA :)
Helene Jeppesen I just wanna know how you explain difficult words while reading it took me a really long time to finish a little book any tips? Hope you'll answer 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Just know that when you read books in English (or in another second language), you don't have to understand every single word in order to understand the overall story. I rarely look up words, these days... I hope that was helpful :)
I love Stieg Larsson's books as well and I really need to reread them soon. Have you read the sequels to Larsson's trilogy, which were written by David Lagercrantz? I haven't yet and I'm not sure if I really want to read them.
I'd actually forgotten about those sequels to the Millennium trilogy... I don't think I'm going to read them, though, as I prefer to just reread and love the original series :)
Thank you very much! Wow, Brazil :D I love how UA-cam can take you anywhere in the world.. And yes, I'm aiming for a British accent since I'm a Dane ;)
I don't understand why the English publication of "Men who hate women" (that is the title in Finnish also) has been changed into "Girl with A Dragon Tattoo". It sounds a little more childish or YA in my ear. The original name of the book is much better. What a beautiful garden! I would live to read in there.. We just have a roof balcony in my appartment house and I can only visit that...if I stay there longer I will burn in the sun righ away. Or I have to wear a huge hat, that won't stay in place because of the wind..it will wobble and annoy me so much I can't read. :D
Wow, that lime green dress is gorgeous on you Helene!

Thank you so much for those lovely words! :)
Your monthly reading vlogs are my favorite!! I always look forward to seeing them. And I love the green dress you wore you looked so pretty!! :) Hope you have a great week. :)
Thank you very much, Alyssa! :)

Thank you! Next reading vlog is in the progress of being made - I love doing them as much as you love watching them ;)
I love these vlogs! Thank you for putting in all the work that they must take to make. Zeus is the cutest! The earrings that you were wearing when you were supposed to dress like a hippie looked great on you!
Thank you! Zeus is super cute, but I only just now realized that he's got flees!!! Can you imagine flees in that lovely fur of his? :O
Just discovered your channel and I loved this video so so so much. How had I not found you before? Hooked. Also slightly in love with Zeus. I also really want to read No One Can Prounounce My Name. I organise my books by height as well.
I'm so thrilled you've found my channel and like it
The lime green dress at the end looks sooooo beautiful on you Helene...
LaMesha Hale agree!! I immediately thought the same thing. She looks so pretty ☺
Thank you so much!
Thank you! :)
Your yard and the gazebo is lovely!
Hi !! Helene it's always a pleasure to watch your reading vlogs ! the thousandth floor seems very tempting !! and have a gorgeous cover ... and maybe The patriots too ??By the way you look stunning in your green dress ;)
Thank you so much! I really loved "The thousandth floor" as the only YA novel I've read recently.. And there's a sequel coming out :)
You're making me feel SO behind as you've talked about so many books I've been wanting to get to. Great to follow your reading progress. Isn't Rakesh's book cover so beautiful?! And you've really motivated me to read American War. Thanks!
It's was because of YOU I bought the book by Rakesh, so don't feel behind at all ;) I'd be interested to see what you think of "American War"!
I hope you'll like "American War" as well ;)
Great vlog! Loved seeing so much of Zeus!
Thank you :) Zeus tends to pop up a lot in my videos...
Love it when you do these videos! That green dress was beautiful on you. Zeus is quite the character. :)
Thank you! Zeus is the best - however, he's got flees now :O So getting rid of those is our next project together...
Hopefully he gets over them quickly!
I recently dnf'd the whole together too it was really not working for me. I listened to American street which I think helped it but wasn't a lover if that either. Great vlog I love getting a look at what you are up to and seeing your beautiful house 😀
Thank you! I guess I've just grown tired of YA - or at least most YA books..
Your cat is gorgeous!!
Loved the vlog !
That green dress is gorgeous!
Thank you! :)

Love your vlogs Helene. So happy you enjoyed Someone at a Distance, it's a favourite of mine :)
Thank you :)
Love these monthly reading vlogs! I was wondering, when you go out of town who cares for Zeus while you're away?😊
Elizabeth Wooten My mother took very good care of Zeus while I was gone ❤️
Helene Jeppesen that's good 😊 Zeus is so cute!

I love your channel, Helene...

💙🎈dear Helene where have you been, miss you and I hope you are well.
You defiantly pulled off the hippie look. Before you even said it I was thinking this hippie look is so unusual for her.
You are so lovely
Thank you! Loveliest comment ever :D

I'm with you on the title - some changes in titles are just weird or unnecessary, I think... :)
