In the UK we would get asway with a walking stick not made for fighting as long as we have an actual use for it. There must be many sticks that are suitable that are not built for self defence.

Wow Matt, very realistic techniques and training. When I was young I had trained and taught the Martial Arts for over 20 years and was in over a half dozen self defense situations. Now I am much older and need a cane on bad days and glad I came across your videos. Thank you.

I love this, thank you. I'm ex karate/jujistu/kick boxer, never started a fight, but had to defend myself and friends/family in a few bad situations.
I just had major spine surgery - metal rods, cages & screws put in, and your videos are exactly what I need. If you were in the UK I'd be at your sessions. Thank you.

I’m going to be doing a lot of walking in Southeast Asia. Definitely need a cane for self-defense and defense against dogs.
Boy cane Masters got some extravagant prices on them canes holy cow. They’re proud of them things!
I think I’ll stick with the $39 cheapie. Rattan grass.

    thank you for everything.
there are many videos on the internet about ninjitsu with a cane. or troll fight with a cane, or taichi-cane. tanbo-jitlcu what do you think about this?
if our cane is grabbed by our opponent, what can we do in this case? or how to fight with a cane so that it cannot be grabbed.
and you should not think that we will have to defend ourselves from a weak opponent. usually we are opposed by people stronger than us and younger and more athletic.
please make a video with the answer to my questions. I think you are a realist and film real techniques for fighting.

A walking stick of any kind is not considered a weapon in any area. People all over the world use sticks of all kinds to help them walk. The only exception is sword sticks with a hidden spike. But not many people have those.
