Although this is mostly a toy, this has A LOT of real life applications if you think about it.. because its very similar to how a real pistol operates and functions, this would honestly be a great alternative to a real firearm when teaching gun safety and operation.
The main difference compared to nerf guns is the fact that this gun fires on a closed bolt as opposed to many foam dart weapons that fire from an open bolt. The fact that it uses casings for the round is also unusual. But the mechanism itself isn't that different. (really cool that it locks open on empty though)
one of the guys that makes these plays humans vs zombies at my college and ive tested a few of these blasters in person. they feel pretty close to the real thing but without risk of death
I like how when he demonstrates the operations of the blaster its either unloaded or just one round loaded or "blanks" loaded in(just the shells not the dart in those shells). you have a very nice trigger discipline and firearm discipline!
Nerf: let's reskin elite and glue it together instead of using screws to make it annoying for modders, also reshape rival and make the balls smaller to force purchases. So cool. I wonder what size the shell casings are. It would be great if we had a dart that fit in a 9mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP casing. Then you could run something like this with a standard brass casing, which would be much, much more durable than the 3D printed one. Brass shell casings aren't that expensive, in fact you can usually get a ton of them at a gun range from people who don't reload their ammo.
