As a helicopter person - I love this set. I love the use of those Creator car pieces recoloured into neon yellow and used in a city set, as well as the use of a different canopy piece for a change. This was a day one buy for me.
Gotta say love to see a helicopter that is built rather than preformed front end and back. And 2 people in a cockpit situation - great. Nice to see Lego designers finally bringing something new and refreshing to the helicopter table. This set reminds me of 7903 from 2006 (because they are both built from bricks).
So a bit of a fun fact I know about the 2006 commercial set 7903 (Rescue Helicopter) is that Tommy Andreasen was the writer for that commercial. (And with many other LEGO commercials.) You can thank the co-creator of _Ninjago_ for spawning the "A man has fallen into the river in LEGO City!" meme!
This is actually the set I was most looking forward to from the new wave of LEGO sets. When I first saw it, I knew it was something special. I espocially appreciate the fact that LEGO has kept the same color scheme as some of their previous ambulances and medical response vehicles.
The LEGO City sets this year really do look compact. It is refreshing to see a helicopter which does not make use of a prefabricated piece for the cockpit area.
YES! More of this, please, Lego: brick-built rather than pre-formed chunks! As Jang suggests, i hope they make some more helicopters like this in different roles and colors.
Preformed is okay, I like the Arctic planes they did a few years ago and the helicopter with the animal rescue theme. But this chopper just has such a fresh look. It is great. Also that they made it so figures can actually stand on the side. A complaint people had with the chopper from the bank set. This set does more and better than the helicopter from the transport set.
My favourite thing about this set is that it is fully built up, and doesn't rely on any cheat pre-fab big pieces, including the skids. And yet again, for the conversion rate, it would be about $33 in AUD, but it's only $30 here in Australia. Very well priced.
Love this helicopter, exactly styled like the Eurocopters seen in many places (except for the side winch), and the figures do match paramedic uniforms from my region exactly with the addition of Teal legs with silver reflective stripe (which were using just plain Sand Green legs in previous sets) Especially a nice set as the last Hospital set from 2022 came with quite a comical helicopter, and the last medic Helicopter truck used a big prefab canopy which I don't like.
As a huge fan of helicopters and LEGO, I have have many sets and custom helis and this is by far the best LEGO helicopter in many many years, I think that it could potentially be best city set of the year because of how good it is and how title flaws it has
Can I just say, this is the first time in quite a while that I've seen an aircraft (or, indeed, mech) cockpit with control sticks that a minifig can actually take in its hands. The use of those round 1x1 tiles with upwards bar stubs is one of my pet peeves and I'm glad they're showing intentions of moving away from that.
Looks like a really nice build. I love the internal space for multiple minifigures. Especially when a set like the Ahsoka shuttle could only fit one minifigure.
*_A MAN HAS_* gotten lost and might be hurt a little bit *_IN LEGO CITY_* This is a pretty dang good set! I’m not even into helicopters but I would consider getting it!
though it is oversized for the set, it does fit and balance on the latest hospital helipad. I was looking for an upgrade that could fit a patient inside, having a winch is just amazing.
i can't get enough of these short reviews of smaller sets! can't wait to see the review for the little Go-Kart City set, provided you bought it of course
I feel like I missed this being announced and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in store. Along with the Lego City tuner style rollback car carrier and sports hatch that comes with it
"Anti 4+ set" is a good way to describe the build technique. I never buy city crafts because of the molded cockpits. This will be in my collection. Between this and set 60430 Interstellar Spaceship, LEGO has found a sweet spot in the $20 range this year. Thanks for the review.
For me the best City themed helicopter was in set 6545 Search N'Rescue. As a kid I loved the sleek design plus the hull got rebuilt into boats and cars!
Thought this set looked great as it’s been a while since we’ve had a good helicopter set, your review makes it seem even better! Fabulously designed set, I love the colour schemes and open space. Minifigures are also unique, would love City to do more paramedics. This is the type of benchmark set that LEGO should keep on shelves for years, it’s that good.
This is probably the most interesting helicopter set I've seen from LEGO form a the perspective you actually have to build it with mostly non-specialized pieces.
Overall this is a fantastic upgrade to the previous city helicopters. My only criticism are the gaps at the sides of the cockpit behind the canopy, which the previous cockpit pieces didn't have. I really wish LEGO would make a larger transport helicopter that can carry more minifigures, similar to the civilian Bell UH-1 that many real emergency services use, which can carry up to 10 passengers.
Thank you, Jang! I pretty much ignored this one when it came out, "just another one..." But your review kind of put it on my radar and after building it I can only agree with you, a nice surprise and hidden gem in the world of city service helicopter!
Agree that this is a great build! My first LEGO set was the 2008 Coast Guard Helicopter, and not only does this capture all the essential features of the model (both carry two figures, a stretcher, and winch), it does so at half the price even before adjusting for inflation! EDIT: If it only included a bear to match the 2008 helicopter's shark (though in reality, a bear is certainly the greater threat), the set would be close to perfect!
I have always had a super soft spot for Lego helicopters. From the one that came with the original minifigure police station to the classic yellow rescue helicopter (yeah I’m that old), Lego helicopters have always been amongst my favorite builds. This one caught my eye last year as it is a very good “Lego City” replica of the Eurocopter H145 with the Fenestron tail rotor. And yeah - the price for what you get is awesome.
I remember running into that myself when the Luigi's Mansion Lego sets were released. For some weird reason they were half off despite them not even being out for a week at that point.
I like this set. I just wish you were not stuck with the highlighter color scheme to use it as something other than a EMS helo. Overall through, I like it. Thanks for sharing.
The helicopter from 60371 is my favorite. Wish that was sold separately from the rest of the set. The fire rescue bright red with a bit of yellow and others is my favorite.
I loveeee this set and the potential direction lego is moving with helicopters. The build looks more like a simplified--but fun! moc/brickmania/darth designer etc etc build and kind of resembles what more modern helicopters look like versus the old canopy or 4+ cockpit piece imho. The scale you noted is also really nice. I wonder if it could be converted to have the pilots sit side by side easily, which would be fun for me and the first mod I'd attempt with this set. Thank you for another great video and another great year of content ahead!
I bought this set after hearing your positive opinions. Looking at the promotional images, the end of the rope is meant to attach to the front stud of the reel (the white technic half pin). This keeps the string pretty well contained on my set.
I really like the colour scheme, for everyone outside of North America we are finally getting things that looks like the things we see everyday. Might be weird to Americans, but for the longest time alot of lego was weird to everyone else
Might just pick this up myself, I remember having the World City 7044 Rescue Chopper from way back then, before dismantling it and losing it along with most of my LEGO collection. Seems like a worthy successor to that set for me.
This a really well done set. A completely different design, of course, but it gives me vibes of the old 6342: Beach Rescue Chopper, that was prominent in the catalogs back then. As you said, I appreciate how it's all built up and not composed of so many specialized pieces. And it's surprising it's only $20!
Big fan of the string with studs. Growing up I always hated trying to get the tiny string in the whole and tying it. I don't like highlighter yellow but on this it looks really nice.
Great little set, though it's surprising that this is the only set with that new windshield. It would have been pretty perfect in one of the space sets... Maybe later this year lol
This ended up being a great set for my almost 6 year old. There was only one point where he needed some help redoing a step, but other than that (and opening the bags) he did it all on his own. I unfortunately can confirm that the cable doesn't really work well. I think that play feature really excited him, so it was a bummer that it was kind of hard to use.
Nice set. I think the backpack is just some medical supplies that might be needed to give first aid if the person that needs to be rescued, requires medical attention. I agree, a well designed set, relying on building techniques rather than preformed pieces, and it looks pretty genuine too. I think the translucency on the 1 x 4 tiles is just to cut costs, we also see it with for example white, and yet that color is not intended to be "extra vibrant" but just needs to be solid. Adding less coloring agent to a massive amount of bricks will probably give an extra reduction in cost, and as long as there are no massive complaints, they will likely get away with it, as they have been for years with other quality reductions, that led to cracks forming much sooner on some parts, or parts not being symmetrical, even though these should be.
I quite liked this set, but I think i would have rathered to pay a little more and get a proper cockpit and door setup. For me, the weakest part is the winch. The side swap is cool, but the rope is just so frustrating it makes me wish it didn't have one. I recommend it with the cavet that you should expect to fix things.
BUILD THE HELICOPTER, AND START THE RESCUE !
As a helicopter person - I love this set. I love the use of those Creator car pieces recoloured into neon yellow and used in a city set, as well as the use of a different canopy piece for a change. This was a day one buy for me.
The fact that they've introduced a winch mechanism that seemingly doesn't require kids to tie impossibly fiddly knots is amazing in itself
Gotta say love to see a helicopter that is built rather than preformed front end and back. And 2 people in a cockpit situation - great. Genuinely one of the best city sets in some time, a definite buy for me.
My favourite thing about this set is that it is fully built up, and doesn't rely on any cheat pre-fab big pieces, including the skids.
And yet again, for the conversion rate, it would be about $33 in AUD, but it's only $30 here in Australia. Very well priced.

always a good day when Jang uploads new Lego review videos. Thanks for all the effort for making these quality content!
Finally! Some emt/paramedic representation! The helicopter looks awesome compared to builds from not long ago
That's a really nice looking helicopter, and a decent price - think i'll pick this up.
still one of - if not the best LEGO reviewers on the web.
As a huge fan of helicopters and LEGO, I have have many sets and custom helis and this is by far the best LEGO helicopter in many many years, I think that it could potentially be best city set of the year because of how good it is and how title flaws it has

I just read the instructions. Perfect timing !

*_A MAN HAS_* gotten lost and might be hurt a little bit *_IN LEGO CITY_*
This is a pretty dang good set! I’m not even into helicopters but I would consider getting it!
Interesting to see that 80s console print in this model.
It's strange, when I saw the thumbnail I just thought "meh", but seeing it properly in the video itself I really like it! 😀
This goes along well the 4x4 Ambulance.
What a great design! Imagine- every figure fits INSIDE!
I agree they need to make the same build just for the Fire and Police theme , Your smart Jang
yes!!!! as soon as i saw this good of a build was only 20$ i just had to get, such a good set and it looks really good
I’m greatly amused that the M-Tron console is still in use. But like everyone is saying, these 2024 $20 sets are awesome. Wonderful review, too.
My wife wanted this set for our little city. Ended up getting it before any of the other new sets. This set is really awesome!
though it is oversized for the set, it does fit and balance on the latest hospital helipad. I was looking for an upgrade that could fit a patient inside, having a winch is just amazing.
Great set. Love the chopper's design.
Fantastic set and price! Agree with a perfect set for kids and adults!
This reminds me of the old RES-Q helicopter which was very large for its day.
A set I will definitely get. Already at a good price point from LEGO's side, but also available with 20% off here in Germany already.
i can't get enough of these short reviews of smaller sets! can't wait to see the review for the little Go-Kart City set, provided you bought it of course
I'm binging this weeks videos and this one just popped up! Cool! OK let's watch!
Finally a good (and pretty realistic) helicopter that has a good scale and looks, wish the cockpit was completely sealed though
Finally, actual brick-built helicopters are back. I'm tempted to pick this one up.
In the thumbnail, I thought that guy was holding a Molotov cocktail 😂
I feel like I missed this being announced and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in store. Along with the Lego City tuner style rollback car carrier and sports hatch that comes with it
An excellent addition to the lego helicopter lineup. Very reminiscent of the 7044 Lego World City Coast Guard Set.
Love the new design! Very Eurocopter-like and in good scale too. Great price as well.
"Anti 4+ set" is a good way to describe the build technique. I never buy city crafts because of the molded cockpits. This will be in my collection. Between this and set 60430 Interstellar Spaceship, LEGO has found a sweet spot in the $20 range this year. Thanks for the review.
Jang is once again happy with BOTH a city helicopter AND its price... my life is complete
Great set! And great review of it.
Awesome city helicopter great review jang 👍
Wow, finally a new helicopter i could get behind, and the price is excellent
This year's Lego lineup has tons of under 20€ (around half of the ones released on January) sets and I must say most are turning out to be great
For me the best City themed helicopter was in set 6545 Search N'Rescue. As a kid I loved the sleek design plus the hull got rebuilt into boats and cars!
I love use of cupcake pieces for the turbines
Thought this set looked great as it’s been a while since we’ve had a good helicopter set, your review makes it seem even better! Fabulously designed set, I love the colour schemes and open space. Minifigures are also unique, would love City to do more paramedics.
This is the type of benchmark set that LEGO should keep on shelves for years, it’s that good.
That's got to be the best looking minifigure scale helicopter I've ever seen from Lego.
I'm not usually interested in helicopters. This one, though...I love this. The colors, the shaping, the figures. Definitely gonna get this.
Really hope we see this design reused constantly like JANG mentioned, I wouldn't mind it✌🏼
This is probably the most interesting helicopter set I've seen from LEGO form a the perspective you actually have to build it with mostly non-specialized pieces.
Looks amazing. I think you could probably modify the cockpit fairly easily so that the 2 crew could sit side by side.
Just bought this today and it is totally worth the money. Fun build and great vehicle for playing with other minifigs.
Great model. Good to see a stretcher fits in there. I'm old enough to remember when Lego had to strap stretchers to the side of the copter.
I'd have that expression too if I was holding a lit stick of dynamite
The helicopter looks coast guard hq helicopter upgrade
Overall this is a fantastic upgrade to the previous city helicopters. My only criticism are the gaps at the sides of the cockpit behind the canopy, which the previous cockpit pieces didn't have.
I really wish LEGO would make a larger transport helicopter that can carry more minifigures, similar to the civilian Bell UH-1 that many real emergency services use, which can carry up to 10 passengers.
great review - this one is on my list to build as well 😀
Thank you, Jang! I pretty much ignored this one when it came out, "just another one..." But your review kind of put it on my radar and after building it I can only agree with you, a nice surprise and hidden gem in the world of city service helicopter!

Feel like that visor would look really nice with the power miners helmet.
I really like the color choices
I have always had a super soft spot for Lego helicopters. Amazing design and great price!
I think it’s brilliant that there are steps and hang on points. I also love that the pre made skids are NOT used yuck!
My walmart had this half off in the clearance aisle before it was even officially released yet
I remember running into that myself when the Luigi's Mansion Lego sets were released. For some weird reason they were half off despite them not even being out for a week at that point.
Great review. Good looking set. Thank you for doing this.
$20 for this in 2024 feels like a steal
I like this set. I just wish you were not stuck with the highlighter color scheme to use it as something other than a EMS helo. Overall through, I like it. Thanks for sharing.
Great set, also great video, keep it up Jang!
Love this, the kind of helicopter you need for a hospital. Only thing I’d do to improve it is give it closing doors on the side.
This is indeed a great set! Great review as usual Jang!
The helicopter from 60371 is my favorite. Wish that was sold separately from the rest of the set. The fire rescue bright red with a bit of yellow and others is my favorite.

As you said, I appreciate how it's all built up and not composed of so many specialized pieces.
And it's surprising it's only $20!
I think the fact it's 6-wide for most of the body, gives it really good mass and impact
I gotta steal that cupcake detail technique
Big fan of the string with studs. Growing up I always hated trying to get the tiny string in the whole and tying it. I don't like highlighter yellow but on this it looks really nice.
My only issue is that a man hasn’t fallen into the river in Lego City
Good to see LEGO making a good sized fully built helicopter again.
Great little set, though it's surprising that this is the only set with that new windshield. It would have been pretty perfect in one of the space sets... Maybe later this year lol
This has to be the best lego helicopter I my opinion!
I think it's the best minifig sized helicopter Lego has ever done!
The tail rotor area is eh, but everything else is sublime
This ended up being a great set for my almost 6 year old. There was only one point where he needed some help redoing a step, but other than that (and opening the bags) he did it all on his own. I unfortunately can confirm that the cable doesn't really work well. I think that play feature really excited him, so it was a bummer that it was kind of hard to use.
Good to have more ambulance response sets but a white and red livery would be nicer
their uniforms look like british paramedics
This set looks awsome. Love the new helicopter design! 😂
Love how this doesn't look like another lego helicopter that already exists, like a lot of older City helicopters did
Nice set. I think the backpack is just some medical supplies that might be needed to give first aid if the person that needs to be rescued, requires medical attention.

The new colors are winning me over
Looks awesome! Think I’ll buy it (my first non Star Wars after many years :)
I like it!
I quite liked this set, but I think i would have rathered to pay a little more and get a proper cockpit and door setup. For me, the weakest part is the winch.
